“Fried shrimp jianbing was a delectable combination of so many textures and flavors wrapped up in a freshly griddled crepe. The textural contrast between the shatteringly crispy wonton sheet and the soft, chewy crepe was downright addictive. Every bite was flavorful: smoky, savory, slightly sweet, a little spicy, and wildly satisfying. It's the comfort of street food in one messy, glorious handful.“

“This is definitely some of the better dim sum I’ve had. I’m not sure what it’s called but my favorite one is like shrimp amd egg and it’s a little toasted. And the custard tart is so good. The crust is so flaky“

“Taco Verde is hands down one of our favorite spots for amazing halal tacos! The quality and flavor are consistently outstanding. We absolutely love their Birria Tacos — perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with rich, authentic flavor.
Their Birria Pizza Tacos are a must-try as well. Such a creative twist, loaded with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every bite is satisfying.
What really makes the experience even better is their hospitality. The staff is incredibly welcoming and always happy to provide extra consume upon request without hesitation. Great service, incredible taste, and a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend Taco Verde!“

“Absolutely delicious! The hot and sour soup brought the heat, but didn't over power the flavor. We also had a variety of the dim sum, the best was the pot stickers. Fun atmosphere, great service“

“Saw this place on TikTok and decided to drive up north to try it. I must say it was definitely worth the trip. Some of the best Chinese I’ve had in the city will definitely be returning. I got the barbecue pork beef fried rice spicy no vegetables only egg with the crispy fried chicken, wings, and crab Rangoon chefs kiss“

“The food is always solid, poIite staff, pretty fast outside of lunch/dinner hour. If you are looking for a recommendation, you can't go wrong with the basics: chicken fried rice, orange chicken, egg foo young, or wonton soup. Items I also recommend: Mongolian beef or salt and pepper shrimp.
I eat there so frequently I felt it's time I owed them the rating they deserve.“

“I knew I was in for a feast when the service was more of a get your crap and get out type of attitude. As all good Chinese food places are. the orange chicken and chow mein was really good. The crab Rangoon filling was sweet as God intended. I am so happy this place is so close to my house.“

“Jjajangmyeon blacker than your ex's heart.
Tangsuyuk with a crunch that shatters like your heart from that same ex.
I'm really just heart broken knowing it's kind of a trek for me when I'm in Chicago becuase as good as the public transpo is in Chicago I'm in Lakeview and getting to Albany Park takes a while.
The outside looks like a Chinese Bodega in Queens NY, but the inside looks like it's been family owned and operated for decades, which it has, that sort of authenticity can't be faked. With a menu bigger than Cheesecake factories, these chef's run multiple wok's and a mise en place that puts french chefs to shame.
When you think Chinese/Korean, it's quite a 50/50 split with not one more prevelant than the other. When you think Korean you think banchan and kim chi's and pickled daikons, so in that regard it's more Chinese.
Apparently they have gotten some fame from social media, but I've been coming here long before that. Most of the patrons are Asian and all staff are, so your service is gonna be matter of fact. It's not so authentic that there are social mores to the tea pouring. They take your order quick and the food comes out quick, usually everything at once which is great for family sized meals/orders/parties versus date nights where there is conversation in between.
I feel like onions, green onions, carrots and peppers are in everything. I wish they had more xo sauce items becuase you can tell all their sauces are slurry enhanced. Still delicious, bold, thick, great. Prices are very affordable and the portions are plentiful. Fried rice is heavy on the msg and light on the soy sauce. They velvet all their beef, but the beef don't be beefing heavy, but their pork and shrimp are all succulent, soft, juicy without all that bi carb. Their szchewan sauce is something I dip their chicken lolipops in on top of their already sticky glaze. I tend to cut and add vinegar to a few of their dishes which is great.
It's M&P, down home, local. It's a place to bring your family, it's a place to stock your fridge with leftovers. It's the places metro cities are built on, despite it not being in Chinatown.“

“Everything about this place has been great from start to finish. Ordering is easy, delivery is always on time, and the drivers are friendly and professional. The food consistently shows up hot, fresh, and clearly made with care.
We ordered the Kung Pao chicken (which is actually spicy), the Mongolian beef — which is phenomenal — and the egg rolls and fried rice, both of which are beyond fabulous. The flavors are spot-on, portions are generous, and the quality is way better than you’d expect from a place that somehow still flies under the radar.
It’s rare to find a restaurant where the entire experience is this solid. Highly recommend giving them a try.“

“This was some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while!!! I ordered the crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice, and general tso’s chicken. Everything was fresh! The shrimp were big and clean, and the rice was nice and dark! IYKYK 😂. The crab rangoon were nice sizes. They give a great amount of everything— takeout boxes were overflowing in a good way. Everything was packaged nicely to prevent spills. The service was also great. The cashier was extremely kind and welcoming when I went to pick up my order. I will definitely be back! 🤎“

“We ordered the shrimp fried rice, orange chicken, and honey shrimp. The fried rice was really good — flavorful with a generous amount of shrimp. The orange chicken was excellent, almost perfect — crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor. The honey shrimp had good flavor too, but the texture was way too hard, likely from being over-battered or double-fried.
Overall, it’s a solid spot for Chinese takeout — good portions, tasty food, and friendly service. Definitely a place I’ll keep in my back pocket for when we’re craving takeout again!“

“The guy that answered the phone and took my order could have sounded like he was interested or at least a little bit friendly. Other than that I do have to say they're sweet and sour chicken is probably the best around. They're fried rice is also delicious. It's been a while since I was there so when I go back I'll update on the next dish that I get. All in all it's definitely good food.“

“This was my first time in Glencoe to watch a show at Writer’s Theater, and I stopped by this place for a meal before the show. It seems to be the only Chinese restaurant in the entire town and also one of the few places both open at night and relatively affordable.
My friend and I ordered the Walnut Shrimp Special and Sauteed Green Beans. We were told it would take 30 minutes, so we sat inside to wait, and the food came out right on time and piping hot. You can’t dine in the restaurant though, as they don’t have a dining license.
9 times out of 10, Chinese takeout will always hit for me, and Shanghai Garden was no exception. The green beans were flavorful and well-sauteed. The walnut shrimp had a nice crispy texture, tangy taste, and also came with broccoli and crispy noodle pieces.
The portions are large for the price and they also included a large box of rice with our order. For just $15 per person, we had a good amount of leftovers. Overall great value, tasty food, generous portions, friendly service— I would love to return if I’m in the area again!

“Order the Thai Red Curry off the takeout menu... it is our favorite dish. In fact, the staff at Jin Asian knows our order when we walk in the door. I get the chicken, my fiance gets the beef, and we have them add mushrooms to both. That, plus the Crab Rangoon with apricot-based sauce, makes one of my favorite meals in the city. The restaurant is never crowded, and the service is very friendly.“

“I really like their sesame chicken! They use dark meat, which I prefer over white meat, and the flavor is just chef’s kiss. It’s very subjective, but their chicken is one of the tops for me! Oh, and they give you a lot! Also more affordable than others.“

“This place is awesome! We went for a girls night and enjoyed the whole hotpot experience! The lamb is halal here, so we were happy to have a meat option. However, the veggie broth itself is so flavorful—having just veggies would have been just fine! By the end of the night we were drinking cups of the broth, because of how flavorful it was!! If you like spicy, definitely get the spicy broth! You won’t regret it. Appreciated how clean the place was—the staff were great about checking in and refilling the broth regularly! Will definitely be going back for more!!“

“LOVE this place and low-key consider it a hidden gem. Prices are so reasonable, even after having gone up in January - lunch special is $8. Portions have shrunk some (that's to be expected when prices go up) but it's still enough food to fill you up. Occasionally they'll get something small wrong (fried rice when I asked for white), but everything I've ordered from here is tasty, which is what not only keeps me coming back, but keeps me telling my coworkers about this place.“

“I love this spot. Amazing hot & sour soup, egg drop has good strong flavor, the orange chicken they serve is nice and has a nice spice to it. The shrimp fried rice has very nice size shrimp. The chicken friend rice has a ton of chicken in it too. I really enjoy the fried wings (disconnected) as well, very delicious. I love the gravy from the shrimp with lobster sauce, good amount for shrimp for reasonable price. Always get the house sweet and sour chicken. It's superb. I will keep coming back to shop, lovely service fresh food“

“Kind of expensive. Cabbage with a few drops of bacon $16.. two small spicy hotpot fish didn't taste so fresh sliced into 4 filets $50. Overall atmosphere is good and clean and plates are brought out by robots first before the server put them on the table. Overall probably would go back again but not ordering those two items.“

“Love this place. Pot stickers, egg drop soup and egg rolls are my go-to’s. The husband favors the orange chicken.
UPDATE: this place is under new ownership and the food all tastes very different to me. The husband still loves this restaurant and thinks some of the food is improved; I tried the new eggrolls and they were a salt bomb.“

“I just ordered from this café through UberEats. Actually, this is my third or fourth time trying their food, and every single time it’s absolutely incredible. The dishes are unbelievably delicious, the portions are generous, the ingredients are always fresh, the prices are reasonable, and the menu is very diverse. This might be the best Asian food I’ve ever had in my life.“

“Food was pretty good in you're in a pinch, plus they open early. The interior is cozy and neat and their service was quick and amicable. Ordered chicken curry, chicken fried rice, and a couple of eggrolls. The eggrolls were pretty standard and the fried rice was tasty, albeit just a bit too oily, and the chicken curry was fragrant and scrumptious but not as spicy as I would have preferred. Overall, quite decent. Cheers!“

“We ordered three items from the restaurant and all of them were really good. However the Chow Mein (Fideo Tostado) with Crispy Noodles, was missing the crispy noodles. We reported this in the app, and the restaurant gave that item to us for free. We are giving five stars because of the exceptional customer service.“

“Has been my go to for take-out American Chinese food over the past few years. It feels like it used to be more consistent in quality but the last few times I have gotten food here it really has been a miss, while prices keep climbing up. The last few chicken dishes I have gotten have been a mix of soggy, lacked proper sauce, over cooked, freezer burn, and /or tasted like old oil. The noodles and or rice have had similar experiences.
I was hesistant to leave a review as it has been good more than bad and I am still giving them 4 stars, but the last few times were bad enough to say something.“

“We visited Fong’s Chinese Restaurant in November with my children when we were in Chicago for my son’s bootcamp graduation. It turned out to be such a warm and pleasant experience.
The service was very good, and the staff was genuinely friendly. We were pleasantly overwhelmed by the big servings—the food was delicious, fresh, and definitely worth the price. The attendant was especially kind; he even offered a small toy to my grandson to help cheer him up when he started crying. They also gifted us a 2026 calendar as a keepsake, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The place was clean, comfortable, and family-friendly, and we truly enjoyed both the food and the environment. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!“

“We were so disappointed today as we've been coming here for years and the food has always been excellent. Today we ordered the Szechuan shrimp and chicken and broccoli lunches. The chicken felt slimy and didn't taste good just like the vegetables. The shrimp lunch was not good either. Both lunches had a weird taste which we believe was due to freezing and reheating which explains why the rice wasn't really good either. The food has always been hot when we get it but today it was just warm. We are unable to finish these lunches. We're hoping that today was just a bad day.“

“Ordered today (nov. 9, 2025). My girlfriend and I heard about this place and got food. Everything was good (prices, portions, service) but, whatever you do, do not get the pineapple fried rice. The pineapple tasted like rotten filth and in no way would i believe it wasn’t spoiled. had to spit it out. Maybe it was a bad day to order it but I am disappointed as that is what we craved prior to considering this spot. The mongolian beef and soup were very good though.“

“This place has wonderful fresh food. The hot and sour soup is my favorite. The prices are great! I compared prices with another place in the area and stopped going to the other place. I enjoy the soup better and you get more for a smaller price. You get a free drink too. I order from them every week. They have the lunch special 6 days a week which is good. They special goes to 4PM. They have been in business for 20 years and know how to please customers. I wish they had the vietnamese spring roll, maybe some day. I miss that.“
