“In town for a wedding, tasked to bring fun things for an informal wedding prep event the day before. I’m admittedly a bakery snob, that annoying person that insists the Americans put too much sugar in everything, especially baked goods (yes, the irony is I am also American).
After light research, swung by Levee. Was a tiny bit suspicious because most of the pastries were the size of a small child’s head. Grabbed several classics (pain au chocolate, croissants) and made a last minute call to snag two of their jamon y beurre baguette sandwiches.
Omg. Those sandwiches. Overall everything was a hit but that sandwich…the perfect ratio of salty ham to soft Brie cheese, the acidic bite cornichons, the crusty baguette. Delivered by a lovely woman who gently sang my order (which didn’t know I needed in my life).
I went back every day of the wedding weekend. And just finished the final sandwich at the airport.
Until next time Levee.“

BEST CROISSANTS IN TOWN by far. and whatever is going on the bagels is perfect. you can make it as simple or as spectacular as you want. and such a treat to grab a fresh squeezed OJ to go with it. and i’m not vegan, but the vegan bagel open face sandwich is often my first choice when going for a big filling breakfast that leaves me feeling ready and light. so delicious!!! i could go on and on. leo’s is a dream.

“We were looking for coffee one morning on our visit to NOLA and found this close to our stay. Great coffee and one of the best biscuits I’ve ever had! Put a little honey on the bacon and egg and it was killer! Glad to see an environment for folks to learn and improve on their skills.“

“We just came back from France again and I was complaining how much better everything is over there. Standards down here in nola are extremely low so when I go somewhere I don’t expect anything special in regards to customer service “you won’t get a hello or thank you most the time”, and the food isn’t nearly as good as people think it is. Nor is it priced accordingly for the quality. I find everything pretty meh down here for the price. However, with all the negativity there are a few positives. Bellegarde and their euro sandwich. Currently sitting at 6.50 it’s a normal deal considering in France they were around 5 euro. Bellegarde’s baguette is one of the best also in the city. I rank it up there with breads on oaks in terms of crust, quality and taste.“

“Very nice and cosy place in the heart of New Orleans, not far from Bourbon and Canal street. We had the biscuit tower, the big daddy burger and a chocolate chip and walnut cookie and it was all excellent. Definitely recommend! I also appreciated that they had a list of other vegan and vegetarian NOLA businesses on their notice board inside. ???“

Kennedy was amazing the second I walked in! The was so sweet and helpful. I asked for recommendations which she gave me plenty and they were all spot on. The store front is so cute and clean and fun. “Incredible neighborhood bakery with the best biscuits I have ever had. Staff was knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. The owner was behind the counter and said he was an award winning professional pastry chef that decided to leave that part of the industry to open his own shop. Today, we tried the individual monkey bread with bananas foster sauce and the biscuit with cranberry jam. No butter was required in the biscuits, they were the perfect level of buttery and flaky. They offered coffee and bottles beverages. The other diners in the shops were raving about the cinnamon rolls, so we have something to try on our next visit! Don't miss this hidden gem!“

“I recently just moved to the neighborhood so I was really delighted that I would get the opportunity to visit this wonderful place they have such delicious food. However what I do not like is that they have horrible service and the attitude of the staff is lackluster that it is very confusing when you walk in there as far as directions. That aside they tend to miss plate items simple as meat and bacon I have to keeping me waiting seems that I was number 16 and they call 17 18 19 20 then I became a little concerned they hastily put together my plate where the items did not match my order it was no due diligence in checking the tickets to make sure that the items match with the person actually paid for as if there’s no kitchen manager or it’s just a free-for-all back there seems I’ve worked in the kitchen previous places I can spot the weakness maybe they need a staff that’s more enthusiastic about working at such a fine establishment and if they can appreciate that maybe that whole family dynamic atmosphere that they try to create something that’s really a hindrance to the business model and with overall discourage people who want to return and spend their heart on money so that they can keep this black on establishment on and Poppin but as you can see this is why people say black on establishment suck and black on businesses suck and they don’t give you a type of business and respect that you deserve because Black people suck but as another black person I’m not able to say that because that means that I suck so what a predicament this put me in oh my gosh and bring back the turkey Bacon please.“

“What a sweet bakery, sandwich shop, and grocery store. The guava cheese King Cake was a light and fluffy brioche dough and absolutely delicious. I could not resist biting into the pastries (both savory and sweet) on my walk.I appreciate having a source for Latinx supplies in Mid-City! The staff was very welcoming and courteous y nosotros hablamos español. I feel like family there and am dreaming of what kind of yumminess I'll stock up on my next trip there.
Parking: Parking right out front of the bakery
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access entrance and aisles that are wide enough for a wheelchair.“

“If you’re looking for a sweet potato pie, you should try Antoine’s in Gretna! It’s not the sweet potato pie that I’m accustomed to as far as how it’s prepared (based on how it look), baked, and the taste but it’s close enough. The customer service is always top tier! It’s inexpensive, to me and meets my need for the most part! I don’t live on the West Bank so it would be nice if they answer the phone before I drive ‘cross the river!! Reason being, two separate times that I went, it was closed! However, check them out!“
“If you're lucky enough to have ever visited this place then you know why I say that you are lucky. Where else can you find good Texas toast for a dollar and just about any other product in there also is for a dollar? In addition to the ridiculously cheap wholesale prices the staff is amazing and friendly. Like the Dos Equis beer man was say I don't always eat bread but when I do I get it from here.“

“Great little shop that specializes in cheesecake, obviously. The name intrigued me as I passed by on my way to a jobsite and I felt compelled to stop by to check it out. I had never seen a bakery that was strictly cheesecake before, and the positive reviews only reinforced my decision to see what it was all about.
It was getting close to closing time when I arrived and there were five or six flavors of the personal size to choose from, ready to go.
I went with a personal sized Chocolate, and Strawberry Swirl which were to be split and shared with a coworker, and cupcake sized Piña Colada.
The cupcake size didn't survive the parking lot because I devoured it immediately. It was fabulous!
The flavors of the other two were also wonderful, with perfect texture and not too dense, and with just the right sweetness. They left nothing to be desired, except MORE!
It was excellent. The two bakers I spoke to were also just as delightful as the cheesecakes.
I hope this little shop stays open as I intend on stopping by again.
And again.“

“Grow up with randazzo's baked goods. Happened to be in St Bernard parish and could not resist stopping by to get my fix on my way back out of town.
They have a chewy macaroon type cookie both in chocolate and anise flavor which is my all-time favorite. Of course I also had to get some of their cake chocolate iced donuts as well. Nona randazzo's bakery goods are not cheap by any means, but that's true for all private bakeries. Nona randazzo's goods are as good or better than any other bakery in the New Orleans area.“

“They make a great king cake. It has a traditional feel, but fresher and better than most traditional spots. The dough reminded me of a Hawaiian roll and the cream cheese was sweet. It was delicate and basic and perfect. It is more expensive than I want it to be, but I could say that about every business on Magazine street. I got the cream cheese and almost everyone at my party asked me to text them the name of the bakery.“

“It is so nice to have a great bagel option in the parish! I mean, there aren’t a lot of bagels outside of New York City that taste this good I don’t know what it is but these guys are doing a bang up job! I highly recommend buying in bulk, and freezing them. My bagels come out of the freezer like I just took them out of the bag for the first time! Pop them in the oven, Yum Yum“
