“Ordered a birthday cake for myself from here. It was my first time ordering, but I wanted to try and see how I liked it. Ordering was extremely easy and no trouble at all. Service has been incredibly friendly. Pick up was a breeze with absolutely no issues at all. Staff was sweet (pun intended) and I was greeted and assisted quickly. I asked for a baseball themed almond cake with buttercream and dark green writing. I wasn’t able to cut into my cake immediately after getting home, but I was able to a couple of hours later. It is delicious! The cake itself is not overly sweet, but moist and flavorful. The frosting is smooth, not grainy or chunky. Absolutely delicious cake and I will order for them again! I can’t say anything bad about my first experience with Baes Bakery but I will be back for my next birthday cake!“

“Life has its bittersweet moments, and I’ve found one of the sweetest right here on Magazine Street. I’m in New Orleans for medical treatment for the next several months, and while my journey hasn’t been the easiest, I’ve discovered that kindness can be as comforting as chocolate.

A few dear friends ordered a dozen cupcakes from Bittersweet Confections, and when one of the owners, Cheryl, heard I was sick, she personally added me to their delivery route, just because. I can’t promise that kind of door to door service for everyone (I happened to live a few blocks away), but the gesture itself meant more than words can say.

I opted to pick them up and eventually, I ventured out for some fresh air and walked to the shop myself. Inside, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the kind of place where you instantly feel like a regular. Jake and Grace treated me (and everyone else) with genuine Southern hospitality. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every cup of coffee and crumb of cake.

Now, technically, sweets are off limits for me right now but let’s just say resistance crumbled after one look at their cupcakes. I took a few bites of the Red Velvet and chocolate with a coconut frosting, and they were so good. The rest I shared with my nurses, who agreed that Bittersweet’s confections are pure medicine for the soul.

For now, I’m savoring the occasional breakfast and the comforting smiles that come with it. When I finish my treatment, you can bet I’ll be celebrating here one perfectly sweet bite at a time.

“First time in and tried the s'more bar and the almont petit four. I liked the toasted marshmallow on the s'more. The chocolate layer was unexpectedly light and mild. I expected a darker flavor and a denser texture. So this is a delicate, melt in your mouth s'more. The thin graham cracker base was soft and it's contribution was lost in the overall velvety experience. It is a very good elevated pastry, and I discovered I'm a bit of a traditionalist who prefers the more familiar textures of a traditional s'more.
The almond petit four was recommended by staff and it was exceptional. Great texture, aromatic almond and petit enough for its sweetness to not overwhelm.“

“While other wedding cake bakeries told me no to the flavors I wanted, multiple flavors on the different layers, and even the design, Jenny said yes and that's easy. After being told no so many times and tasting dry, flavorless cakes, I was at a loss on where to get a wedding cake. A coworker recommend Sweet Life and I contacted Jenny and we set up a tasting for all the flavors I was interested in. We ended up getting 3 different flavors for the different layers because they were so good that I couldn't choose. Jenny also told me the design I picked out was easy for them to do. The cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I was very glad I asked for pieces of the cake to be brought to our suite so we could try some of the delicious wedding cake since the rest of the cake was eaten at the reception.“

“Great little shop that specializes in cheesecake, obviously. The name intrigued me as I passed by on my way to a jobsite and I felt compelled to stop by to check it out. I had never seen a bakery that was strictly cheesecake before, and the positive reviews only reinforced my decision to see what it was all about.

It was getting close to closing time when I arrived and there were five or six flavors of the personal size to choose from, ready to go.

I went with a personal sized Chocolate, and Strawberry Swirl which were to be split and shared with a coworker, and cupcake sized Piña Colada.

The cupcake size didn't survive the parking lot because I devoured it immediately. It was fabulous!

The flavors of the other two were also wonderful, with perfect texture and not too dense, and with just the right sweetness. They left nothing to be desired, except MORE!

It was excellent. The two bakers I spoke to were also just as delightful as the cheesecakes.

I hope this little shop stays open as I intend on stopping by again.

“We loved it! Such a unique experience hidden away in New Orleans By Water area. It was recommended ny a friend. My dad lived in Germany for 8 years in the 70s, and was excited to see a place that served the food and beer he missed so much. A plus was the outside seating and the beautiful day. “Grow up with randazzo's baked goods. Happened to be in St Bernard parish and could not resist stopping by to get my fix on my way back out of town.

They have a chewy macaroon type cookie both in chocolate and anise flavor which is my all-time favorite. Of course I also had to get some of their cake chocolate iced donuts as well. Nona randazzo's bakery goods are not cheap by any means, but that's true for all private bakeries. Nona randazzo's goods are as good or better than any other bakery in the New Orleans area.“

“I recently just moved to the neighborhood so I was really delighted that I would get the opportunity to visit this wonderful place they have such delicious food. However what I do not like is that they have horrible service and the attitude of the staff is lackluster that it is very confusing when you walk in there as far as directions. That aside they tend to miss plate items simple as meat and bacon I have to keeping me waiting seems that I was number 16 and they call 17 18 19 20 then I became a little concerned they hastily put together my plate where the items did not match my order it was no due diligence in checking the tickets to make sure that the items match with the person actually paid for as if there’s no kitchen manager or it’s just a free-for-all back there seems I’ve worked in the kitchen previous places I can spot the weakness maybe they need a staff that’s more enthusiastic about working at such a fine establishment and if they can appreciate that maybe that whole family dynamic atmosphere that they try to create something that’s really a hindrance to the business model and with overall discourage people who want to return and spend their heart on money so that they can keep this black on establishment on and Poppin but as you can see this is why people say black on establishment suck and black on businesses suck and they don’t give you a type of business and respect that you deserve because Black people suck but as another black person I’m not able to say that because that means that I suck so what a predicament this put me in oh my gosh and bring back the turkey Bacon please.“

“We stopped into O’Delice French Bakery for a snack. The atmosphere is very neat and fun, similar to a French Bakery. The nice lady behind the counter explained which pastries contained tree nuts. The lemon tart was delicious and we were very pleased with our choice.

“I was uptown visiting my sister and passed by here.Back in the day when I wanted to use Daddy's car ,I would pick him up from work and would drop by here and they would have the bread hot and ready when we came. Once we got home, we added a little Parkay butter, and oooh wee dinner would be so good .
