“We arrived on a Thursday night about an hour before close and didn’t have to wait for a table, even though the staff were clearly handling a bustling front of house. Our server was helpful in selecting wine and we absolutely LOVED the roasted carrots and cornmeal brioche with caramelized onion butter. I’m drooling just thinking about these small plates.Oh yea, the pizza was some of the best wood fired pies I’ve had in awhile, both in restaurant and as late night leftovers the next night.Although the food and vibes seemed upscale, the casual attire and kindness of the staff made it feel warm and welcoming.“
“Note: If you are looking for a raucous bar that serves hurricanes or hand grenades in gallon jugs shaped like butts or jugs, stop reading. This isn’t your place. While I’m sure the food here is great, this review is only about the cocktails we had and the absolutely chill vibe of the courtyard. Both were exceptional. Easily one of the most creative cocktail lists I can remember seeing. So many unique and unexpected flavor combinations that made no real sense when I read them on paper, but made the most perfect sense when I drank the drinks. Whatever voodoo is going on behind the bar at this place is brilliant. If you want to try something different - even if it’s just a different take on a classic, make the effort to drink here. Then, sit outside in the courtyard and savor it all. You’ll thank me.“
“We had the eggplant appetizer with tahini sauce all around it, It was the best eggplant I’ve ever had. It was delicious, the eggplant was perfectly cooked mouthwatering. We also had the Porterhouse for two you couldn’t possibly ask for a better steak. It was mouthwatering perfectly cooked seasoned just right, you will not be disappointed. The staff, I couldn’t say enough about them. The staff they were wonderful attentive, and willing and able to do whatever you needed.“
“Wooooo this place is GOOD. We had a date night (with our sleeping infant) while on a trip to NOLA. The staff was very accommodating of our baby, and welcomed us warmly. The food was fantastic. We got the baby octopus, pork cheek, both salads, flounder (daily special), and pierogis. Every bite was delicious. Highly recommend!“
“If I could rate more than 5 stars I would. I came here with my mom in September for her birthday dinner and we could not have been happier with the experience. Of the 10+ restaurants we visited during our time here, this was easily the most unique and memorable. The ambience was lovely, a carefully crafted balance of elegant southern hospitality and refined contemporary touches transporting you into an intimate dining experience. The service was impeccable, each member of the staff was welcoming and enthusiastic. They all made us feel like we were locals returning for the umpteenth time and went out of their way to make the dinner exceptional. Each course was beautifully plated and full of flavor. The fish was perfect and fresher than any we had elsewhere on our stay, and the desert was outstanding. No matter whether you’re a local or a guest of the city, do yourself a favor and dine here.“
“After our fourth A1 dining experience here, I figured I needed to 5 star this establishment. Firstly, the inside is romantic yet posh. Comfortable seating with good spacing. Secondly, our servers have always been knowledgeable and attentive. Bee has been our server twice now and always takes such great care of us! Last and most importantly, the food and drinks! Insanely delicious!! For apps, you can’t pass up the fried green tomatoes and pork belly. For entree, this is the best red fish in the whole city! Love love love!“
“We came at 4, which is when they open. Perfect, no one was hardly there. Then, out of nowhere. A family of 10 with 8 kids all under the age of 11 was so loud and had no home training the adults didn't seem to mind either. Not to mention, the kids were all girls. Business is Business. I would say wayy too kid friendly of a “
“We were looking for a non-touristy spot after seeing an amazing jazz performance at Preservation Hall. The bartender prior to the performance recommended a few places including The Grapevine. We sat at the bar and were greeting immediately and the bartender Michael was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They start out every meal with individually warmed baguettes and specialty whipped butter, that night it was cracked pepper and truffle. We shared a couple items off of the specials (an artichoke soup that was to die for and a roasted marrow bone topped with Creole style crawfish tails) and then the caprese which may seem simple but was done to perfection with a NOLA flair topped with seafood. The price point was also amazing for both food and alcohol. This was definitely our most favorite eatery experience while in NOLA.“
“The best meal I've ever had in my life. I could not recommend this place more. We went on a week day to get bunch. There wasn't much of a wait we were seated right away. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely divine.“
“Our waiter was an excellent host, providing us with lots of personalized local spots for our vacation. We ordered a bunch of plates to share, which several staff complimented as their faves, and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend the tuna ceviche and fried chicken!“
“My husband and I LOVE this place. We live a couple of blocks away and eat here as often as we can without making it seem like we’re stalkers. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming…and the food! Lord. It’s delicious. The boudinThe P&P saladThe corn babiesTexas Crispy QuailFried BrusselsGulf FishIt is all amazing! Definitely one of the very best restaurants in The Quarter.“
“Very cool atmosphere, super friendly staff, slightly disappointed with our cake selections. They weren't bad, but $30 for cake and coffee... I expected it to knock my socks off. Should have listened to the waitress' recommendations.“
“Enjoyed dinner here and had an incredible experience all the way around. Our server, Otto, had awesome energy and made us feel great about our choices. The Moon Moth drink was the best cocktail I’ve ever had and dinner/desert were delish.“
“According to the hostess, this was originally an old rectory that they renovated and turned into a charming, warm and inviting space with kitschy seating. Upon entering, there is a dining space similar to a front room that leads into a livingroom complete with a fireplace. If you walk down the hallway, there is a curtained dining nook as well as an indoor patio and a lively bar area. They also have a super cute outdoor, open air dining space with plenty of seats. The house made focaccia was very delicious and a must! The oysters were good as they were from the east coast. We really enjoyed the roasted gulf shrimp, but we were not told that the heads would be on nor is it written in the description on the menu; so be prepared. Our main dishes consisted of the chicken under a brick and the daily fish of halibut. Both dishes were delicious! They only have two options for dessert and our chocolate tart did not look like the photo on their website but it was still good. The lavender semifreddo was fire! I couldn't stop eating it!Our waitress did a good job but there were a few things overlooked, like not being cognizant of empty water glasses, letting dishes pile up and not changing out our silverware and plates, however, she was in training, so we didn't say anything. This is definitely a neighborhood gem and not to be missed.“
“Amazing food next to none! I was a walk-in and got a table by the bar and ordered two cold and two hot appetizers. All four were amazing and I’ve been to several Michelin star restaurants! The tuna crudo was light and refreshing. The venison tartare was interesting although slightly chewy. The escargot was prepared differently than in the shell and seemed sautéed. The gnocchi was the star of the show and was amazing! Even the amus-bouche was decadent. If you have a chance to visit - please do - you will not be disappointed“
“All of my senses were OVERWHELMED with pleasure at Criollo's Jazz Brunch! The service and food was superb Michelin level quality. The live jazz band kept me entertained as I was coursed out. The chef elevated the fried green tomatoes and chicken biscuit to an award winning level. The chicken biscuit was smothered in jalapeño's, scallions and the best rue I have ever tasted so I sent my compliments to the chef. Every delectable bite forced my eyes shut so I could deeply enjoy the freshness, flavor and texture. While I was enjoying coffee the chef sent complimentary Rosemary & Lemon Custard Madeline's. It was an innovative way to approach this classic pastry. My only critique is the custard on top was so good I wanted more. Very light, fresh, and balanced melody of flavors. The consistency was reminiscent of a fusion between a scone and puff pastry. You can tell the French invited fries by how well the fries here complimented every dish. It was such a phenomenal experience, I found myself making reservations for the next day halfway through brunch and I am happy to say the food, service and entertainment are consistently great here. The fancy French atmosphere at Hotel Monteleone was fit for a Queen and the bathroom attendant cleaned the stall prior to each guests use. This is a must try spot in The French Quarter.“
“First meal in NOLA! Can't say I regret it. Both the shrimp and pork belly poboys were killing it!Lots of flavor with the shrimp (my 19 mo ate like 3 pieces!). The pork belly was nice and fatty. Not sure what not to like - even the iced tea was nice and simple to wash the food down with.Would've loved to try everything else on the menu if I could.“
“Fantastic experience from start to finish! The food was beautifully prepared and every bite was perfect. An incredible menu full of flavor. The kitchen is gorgeous - a real show stopper. Service was flawless. Nicely done, Emeril! I can see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - your son is doing some outstanding work. Such a wonderful dining experience. Well done!“
“How do I rate this place higher than a 5??? The atmosphere is welcoming and amazing. Such a great spot to find after wandering the streets all day. Now let’s get into the food. I did the alligator hot dog my first night and immediately knew I had to come back. The second night I customized my alligator hot dog and I couldn’t believe my taste buds. This food kills. 25/10“
“Hits and missesGood: loaded Korean fries, brussel sprouts, Sad Boy cocktailDo not get the mushroom pho if you have any expectations of it tasting like pho. Deeply needed salt, the mushrooms and noodles were all wrong, and not a bok choy to be found.“
“It’s been many years since I dined at Bayona, and I’m pleased to say they haven’t missed a beat. The food was delicious, and a welcome change from the ever present bowls of gumbo and Po boys that dominate the Quarter. Spicer’s James Beard medal still hangs on the wall near the entrance and it’s a well placed testament to this very fine dining experience.Peter and the rest of the staff were old school in the best possible way; their service was top notch. If you’re thinking about where to eat while in New Orleans, make one night a Bayona night!Vegetarian options: The butternut squash entree was delightful for my vegetarian companion.“
“Had a wonderful dinner here the other night. For entrées, we had the wagyu steak and the Ossobuco lamb with a chimichurri sauce; both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, we had the banana split, which was also incredible. I would highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for quality food. My only negative would be that the room on the first floor is a little too tight with tables, but that aside, I will most definitely come back again.“
“This is a real cute little cafe near the convention center. We went on a Saturday late morning and only had to wait about 20m in line. Well worth the wait! Crab Cake Benedict was delicious, pancakes were, too. Not sure what they put in them, but it works. The French toast was good, could have been soaked a little longer, but still good. Juices are fresh squeezed! Everyone was nice, although very busy. My favorite part, the grits!“
“After my review the owner has reached out to me. I must say she was very nice and professional. I understand things do happen in life and she reached out promptly to fix the issue and make it right. Very Professional! Me and my friends will be revisiting for my birthday next month ❤️?“
“Breakfast and service here was so great. It was St Patrick’s Day parade weekend. They were busy but had no problem accommodating our party of 5 at the bar. The eggs sardoux had generous crabmeat and flavor. The pancakes were cooked to perfection with crispy edges and warm syrup. We sat at the bar and I was impressed with the amount of attention the servers were giving to the food presentation. The drink menu for St Patttys was awesome. Entire meal bloody Mary’s, frozen Irish coffee was delicious (recipe right on the money)..we can’t wait to bring our friends here.“
“So happy that we came! Incredible atmosphere in the back of the Old Absinthe House. Even better was the selection of absinthes to choose from. But BEST of all was Julie - She provided incredible recommendations of which of their absinthes might be of interest to us, and highlighted a local distiller (Atelier Vie) who makes an incredible, unique product (that became my favorite of the night). Can hardly wait to go back!“
“Came by here one night randomly for some drinks. Love the look of the place, has such a fun vibe. Enjoyed a few cocktails, an old fashioned, mai tai, and the prize fighter. As a home-tender, I appreciate a good cocktail done right. I will say they're a bit pricey so I recommend their happy hour. We were greeted immediately and seated, waiter was nice and attentive to us. Definitely a place I will revisit to try out more of their menu.“
“Went to Chicken's Kitchen today, but I forgot to post pics..I just wanted to shout out the workers on the front line...All of yall are so extremely nice and patient and it is amazing..I know it has to be extremely difficult dealing with a multitude of people everyday who don't know what they want, talking crap, asking questions, etc...Yall all handle it with much ease and humbleness. Yall ain't gossiping, talking about the customers, being no type of messy..Yall are the hero's as well as the owners..He has a great staff in yall and I wanted everyone to know..So I had the 4 cheese lasagna with carrots and Caesar salad, with pepper balls and fish on the side..I also had the praline cake and purple KoolAid..EVERYTHING WAS GOOD!! Also had fried ribs the last time I went..Absolutely loved everything I ate and the customer service..Chicken's Kitchen YALL WINNING!!!.See yall again soon.“
“We came here for happy hour (4-6) for half off all bottles of wine and half off the mussels and fries! Both were excellent and great portions! Our server Sara was super nice and helpful, she gave us a lot of recs and talked through all of the wines with us. We sat outside on the front patio and it was just so lovely, busy but not too packed. Overall def recommend and will come back!“
“Our fav dinner during our NOLA trip. Impeccable service. Food was spectacular (oysters, crab dip, steak and frites). Amazing cocktails. Great space that feels elevated but not stuffy. Brought our toddler and even he enjoyed the friendly staff and food.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu but staff was very friendly and accommodating. They do offer high chairs.“
“This was our second time coming here! The alligator and etouffee dogs were really yummy and unique! Better than any normal hot dog. The etouffee fries were a bit too liquidy, and they could’ve put more meat, but we still enjoyed the concept. It wasn’t worth the $7, but it’s definitely something worth trying once.“
“The service here was sooooo slow. Spent 2 hours there but the food was really good! Order the alligator half fried half blackened. SO YUMMY! The shrimp and crawfish pasta comes with sooooo much seafood which is amazing! Shrimp po'boy is okay. Really yummy gumbo!“
“After a lifetime of Grits avoidance, it was Apolline that finally turned me - actually changed my mind. I was a "Grits Convert" they said, as if it were a common experience from their point of view.Maybe it was just the first time I'd experienced Grits as anything better than bland and uninspired gruel. Or maybe the preparation here was exceptional. Whatever the case, the Shrimp and Grits was irresistible. I felt a shade guilty, as if anything this good must be illegal, even in a city with few such social limitations.Short version: The food was excellent and the service was genuine. It was an easy place to enjoy, easier to recommend.“
“I had the eggplant cake, soft shell crab over linguini and baklava. All of the food was phenomenal and it was hands down the best eggplant dish I've had in my life. The restaurant is also very comfortable with a beautiful, peaceful, cozy atmosphere.Ashley was also an amazing host, making sure I had everything I needed and even going out of her way to make virgin drinks for me.“
“Bad Wolf Restaurant sets the bar high with its innovative menu, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance, creating a dining experience that leaves a lasting impression on every patron. From the delectable dishes to the carefully crafted cocktails, every aspect of the restaurant reflects a commitment to excellence, making it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual night out, Bad Wolf Restaurant guarantees an unforgettable culinary adventure.“
“Decided to try this place after coming across their instagram and could not have been any happier with that decision. From the service at the bar, to the drinks and the PHENOMENAL "She Crab Soup", everything was excellent. In fact, we enjoyed everything so much that we came back again the next day with friends!“
“We didn’t eat anything there, but attended last week for Big Sam. Tickets were $25 and then Sam proceeded to hit everyone up for tips in such a way that it felt rude not tip more on top of the $25. I had never before been that hit up for tips after paying a healthy entrance fee. That will likely be the last time I take friends to see Big Sam in a local bar/venue.“
“Don't walk to this place, run. My husband and I are visiting New Orleans. I wanted breakfast and he wasn't sure if he wanted breakfast or lunch. Our Airbnb was located in Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans, and we wanted to try something within walking distance. After doing a google search, lucky, we found Horn's Eatory.Once we entered the restaurant, we knew we had found the right place. It is bright, the atmosphere gives off positive vibes, and the staff are wonderful. We were greated with smiles and all our questions about the menu were answered. We may be from California, but never felt more at home.I had their basic breakfast, subbing 1/2 order French toast for the regular toast, Grits, scrambled eggs and sausage. My eggs were scrambled to perfection, the grits were the perfect texture, the French toast was light and crispy. The sausage was good. My husband had a Saraney sandwich (grilled provolone with tomatoes, bacon and avocado. Served in rye. He loved it! Their coffee is delicious! If you are ever in the area, don't pass Horn's Eatery up.“
“Good value for a quick overnight stop and full nights rest. The hotel was very clean. Pillows and blankets very soft which the family liked a lot. Good water pressure. Location is easy proximity to explore tourist spots without being on the busy loud main drags. We took a 10 min petty cab bike ride to bourbon and walked all the way down and over to Frenchman. Chose a room with View of the river which was nice, the kids felt “fancy”. Only parking available is valet, but our dually truck was not accepted so we had to park overnight in the lot next door $40. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9am on a Saturday which was annoying so do put on the do not disturb sign. AC was working well and strong but my husband said he noticed feeling stuffy from the vents.“
“Our experience was absolutely phenomenal!! We ate here about 3 days ago. The weather was perfect so we were seated outside. It was such a quaint and romantic experience! The food and cocktails were superb!!! Our pup also joined us and he was treated very well!!! We will definitely return to this lovely establishment upon our next visit to NOLA!“
“The chef / owner saw that we were not being acknowledged by the wait staff as we stood at the entrance. He greeted us warmly and got us seated, eventually taking our orders. His recommendation of Roku for a gin and tonic will become my new favorite. A new menu each week in an intimate, funky neighborhood setting will make this a regular outing when we stay in Bywater.“
“A wonderful restaurant! Nice ambiance and decor. Excellent food. Service was probably the best ever. Our waitress, Julie, was super nice and efficient. Can't recommend it enough. It's not a bad idea to go to the cemetery across the street before or after your meal.“
“We were waiting for a table at Morrow's so came to Artisan for a drink. This is a very small, but clean and cute neighborhood bar. It definitely reminded me of some of the neighborhood bars in Chicago. We didn't try the food but they had some great sounding options. Our bartender, Cheryl, was fabulous and chatted with us for awhile. Multiple tvs around the bar and a bar with many options. Would highly recommend a visit.“
“Lobster night was incredible! Every course (5 of them!) was interesting and well thought out, and the wine pairings were fantastic. I almost didn’t want to give the secret away with this review but can’t wait for the third annual lobster fest !“
“This place has good food with lots of vegan/ vegetarian and gluten free options. It is very much a pick up food spot since it is in the market area. The market does have seating nearby, if not there are park benches around the market as well, but I took it for pick up to a bar that does not serve food. I had the vegan crab cake po’boy which was good, so I can only imagine that the traditional crab cake po’boy is amazing as well! I would most definitely come back to try that out or any of the other delicious looking options. They had a variety of food options with a lot of traditional New Orleans fares as well like red beans, okra gumbo and beignets. So I would say this is a great place to try some true NOLA foods. Also, true to the NOLA spirit, they also sell alcohol! Yay! Parking around this area is rough, so if you must park, I would recommend the parking lot a few blocks away.Vegetarian options: Just about all options had a vegan/vegetarian counter.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options, vegan/ vegetarian options“
“Bacon Werewolf dog- I love wurst! This had everything I love...juicy wurst, smoke, dill relish, mustard, onions, sauerkraut!!' The bacon was a bit overdone and was jerky-like so I could have easily done without it. It was a great dog!!! Staff was friendly and efficient. Great outdoor seating and music soundtrack playing.“
“my granddaughter and I have been celebrating her Birthday at Le Salon for the last 10 years. We plan to continue this tradition for years to come. Lisa O has been our gracious server for many of these years. She is a consummate professional and exudes graciousness.“
“Might not be for everyone, but the Three Legged Dog is a great bar if you like dives, and is probably my favorite bar in New Orleans. They’re open 24/7 and serve food. The food is good bar food, and the drinks are cheap. The bartenders are definitely characters, but they’re friendly and the service is good. If you’re looking for somewhere fancy, this is definitely not your spot. But if you want a few cheap drinks and to strike up an interesting conversation with a stranger, you can’t do much better.“
“Had to create an account just to leave a good review on this place. Got the white beans and rice with cornbread and fried chicken and potato salad and the Mac n cheese as a side. I don’t ever remember being this satisfied after leaving a place in my life, I could not stop eating. The waitress/ hostess was awesome. Did not expect this place to be this good. Very clean place as well.“
“We love this restaurant! I had the crab and corn bisque, and she had the duck gumbo to start, and it was incredible. I then had the best duck, without question, I have ever had and she had the most amazing rizzoto you can imagine. Five stars is not enough to rate this restaurant. Also, if you go near lunchtime, try the oyster BLT, unbelievable!“
