“We loved our stay and we have stayed in NoLa many times this is our favorite spot old charm meets spacious rooms and modern amenities. Room was nice with seating and bathroom was lovely. My only complaint was the hot water took awhile to heat up and the phone in the room was broken other than that a perfect stay. The employees were so friendly and offered great food and activity suggestions. Great location close to everything to walk easy to or Uber out but still quiet. Highly recommend!!!“

“We were in town to watch the Ohio state football game. We went to Mannings. Obnoxiously loud. Not cooperative. Walked across the street. They went above and beyond to make sure we not only have the game but we have our own TV to watch the game. Thank you very much. Highly recommend.“

“The Rusty Nail was a great spot to unwind after exploring New Orleans. It has a really inviting setup with both indoor and outdoor areas, giving it a nice balance between a cozy neighborhood bar and a lively hangout spot.

The outdoor space has a relaxed atmosphere where you could enjoy a drink and take a break from the busier parts of the city, while the indoor area still had plenty of energy when you wanted something a little more lively. They have a second floor level that works great for private events too. The drinks are excellent, and the bartenders did a great job putting together quality cocktails in a laid-back environment. Overall a great neighborhood bar with good drinks and a comfortable atmosphere.“

“Have been a Chart Room patron for many years. It's pretty much a plain ol' bar with great juke box and veteran bartenders serving typically strong and inexpensive drinks. About half locals, half out-of-town visitors, most of the out-of-towners being frequent NOLA visitors. At one time I suspected that a few of the regular characters were sent over by Central Casting, but have been going there long enough to now know they're genuine. A recent ownership change, but based on my last visit, no discernible (to me) change.“

“Go spend the day at the WW2 Museum and then go to Rosie's Roof Top Bar across the street at the Higgins Hotel.
Okay here we go... Food was good and the view was great. They just needed a little more staff for the busy time.
We started with the loaded fries, moved on to Cajun Shrimp Tacos. Happy Hour five dollar beer and wine.

“Oysters and pita/crab dip were delicious! Service was a little rough. My husband got his oysters before I got my meal- he had that and his drink finished before I received my food. We tried to be patient because they were somewhat busy, but watched our server take off her apron and leave before ever coming back to our table after drop off. We had 2 other waiters and what looked like management walk by several times, and even though I tried to get their attention, never looked our way or stopped. Finally made eye contact with a gal working closer to the front who came over and was very sweet, apologizing as our waitress had just quit. She brought out my food that'd been sitting there for quite a while, so the muffalettas weren't great, coleslaw warm. She never came back or reassigned someone to us, no one checked on us for drink refills, etc. Had to flag her down to place another food and drink order, again because no one else was helping us. After that, zero service, no one stopped at our table to check on us, and nothing 'taken care of' for the mishap. We came at a time where we were able to see the end of one band and start of a new- both fantastic, so that was good. Would recommend based on food and music, maybe not so much service.“

“The Black Penny is easily becoming one of my favorite hideouts on the French Quarter fringe. Situated right on N. Rampart, it strikes that perfect balance of a low-key service industry sanctuary wrapped in an effortlessly cool, gothic dive aesthetic—complete with exposed brick, dim chandeliers, and a giant Malort deamon hanging overhead keeping watch.

​Stopped in today and tried their THC Rootbeer Float (made with NOLA COLA)—absolutely amazing alternative to a standard drink, though they have a solid lineup if you're having alcohol, too. The crowd here is top-tier: ended up striking up conversation with some great local folks.
​If you want a cozy spot away from the heavy tourist noise with genuine vibe, great drinks, and better people, this is it. 5/5.“

“I kept hearing that this is one of the best American restaurants, so naturally, I had to check it out during Coolinary Month.

The atmosphere is definitely what you come here for. The house, the grounds, and the dining room are beautiful and romantic, and overall, it feels like a special experience. The staff was attentive and cordial, and the food arrived quickly.

But… I can’t say I was blown away by the food. It was good, but definitely nothing I’d write home about. And the portions were very small. After spending that much, I actually left hungry and had to eat again when I got home. 😂

A few things I think could really improve the experience: the property is extremely dark at night. Finding the parking lot is easy enough, but walking through a completely unlit parking lot alone didn’t feel particularly comfortable. It wasn’t dangerous, just unnecessarily dark. The music also didn’t quite match the atmosphere for me.

I’d actually love to come back during daylight and experience the outdoor seating, because it looks absolutely charming.

Overall, I think the experience is lovely, and it’s clearly a labor of love. But for the price, I’m not sure the food and portions quite justify the cost. There’s definitely something special here — I just think they may be missing the mark in a few areas.

“I live close by and have passed this place so many times on the way to work but never had the time to stop in until today cos I wanted a fun place to go to celebrate my birthday and I've never been one for the maddening crowd that goes along with the vibe that Bourbon St. has. This place is absolutely a great little gem for those who just want to relax and have a drink. The bartender is a complete sweetheart and so friendly, the drinks are very affordable AND strong and I very much enjoyed celebrating my birthday there! It's kind of like the New Orleans version of Cheers LOL I just hope at some point they will have karaoke on the weekends but I will definitely be frequenting there more often from now on.“
