“Birdies Hot Chicken is a locally owned spot that has quietly built one of the stronger reputations for fried chicken in the Boston area, and the tenders are where that reputation is easiest to understand.

The chicken comes out juicy and well crusted, with a batter that stays crispy without being thick or greasy, and the seasoning underneath does more work than most hot chicken spots bother with. “One of my all-time favorite restaurants, not only in Massachusetts, but anywhere in the world. I sadly had to move out of MA this year, and the last week I was in town, I think I went to this place three days out of seven. Love love LOVE their spicy chicken shawarma (I always asked them to put rice and tabouleh in mine, with plenty of their famous spicy garlic sauce) and spicy potatoes. And the service is always friendly and welcoming.

The chicken fingers were hot, crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Texas toast was buttery and delicious, and the fries paired really well with the famous Cane’s sauce. The food came out fast even though the place was busy.

“Highly recommended place, I ate the chicken sandwich and it was very good.

What I would criticize to improve would be that the potatoes come with less salt, some tables were dirty and the sandwich was overfling with sauce.

The things I loved were the speed of attention and receipt of the food in a few moments.
