“Was in town for the weekend visiting family and made a trip to massis we don’t have any Armenian bakeries or stores in Connecticut. So many options to choose from i stocked up on things to bring home and got a bunch of mezze things for dinner with family we were visiting some of Them have never had Armenian food before and they enjoyed all of it. “Such a beautiful space. Creative, cozy lighting in the high ceiling dining room (or enjoy fairy lights and climbing flowers all around outside on the patio). The menu is simple but with something for everyone. Dishes came promptly and were perfectly cooked and looked AMAZING as they arrived. The servers were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. “The best fresh tortillas I've had in a long time, filled with generous portions of lengua/cabeza/al pastor (all perfectly cooked) and served with delicious salsas. You just can't beat it. I thought the meat was a little under salted but...they got salt. It's a taco, you can work this out. Will be going back as soon as I can find an excuse to to try the birria.“

“The dumplings were really yummy and fresh. Our noodle soups were okay, nothing impressive though. I liked the flavor of my sour and spicy broth. It was yummy to try hand pulled noodles though hated how much they stuck together. Crab rangoons and egg rolls were really average here.“

“Pretty good roast beef. Colder beef than the usual NS beef but also cooked a little more which I like. (The typical NS completely raw beef grosses me out). You got to love the owner though. He's been serving beefs for like 40 years, waaay before they became a foodie fad. So if you say 3 way to him he'll look at you like you're a giant dork. I think its hilarious. But anyhow the food is pretty darn good for fast food. Oh and the prices are fair. He didnt jack up his prices 200% when 40-50% inflation hit over the past couple of years. He jacked up the prices to pretty much exactly what the inflation was.“

From the wonderful host that made sure we were well taken care of and comfortable throughout our meal, to the server's patience as we had members filing in late and with a multitude of requests, and the bartender who took care of us for one last sip! “Ive lived in the area for 7 years and drove by this place many times and never felt inspired to check it out based on its curb appeal. Inside its a standard mid-sized local sports bar that I get the sense has a loyal local following. To my surprise food was above average and staff was very very friendly. Full bar, but limited draft selection if your a beer snob this probably isnt your spot.“

“The cheese dip was smooth and spicy. The chicken tamales were authentic tasting but a little heavy on the Masa to chicken ratio. All of it was satisfying and very filling. I would also recommend the aroz con pollo as being flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a pleasure to dine here. There's no longer an attempt to classify menu items as 'gluten-free' or not, but my wife had the tortilla soup with no I'll effects, so there's one.

Compared to other Mexican restaurants, your food is delivered reasonably quickly. I can't say that for most other places and the quality is always consistantly good and satisfying.“

“The lamb kebab was one of the juiciest, well-cooked lamb I've ever had. I would go back just for this dish! The ground beef kebab is also great. Wasn't a huge fan of the beef tenderloin kebab or salmon kebab, they were both pretty dry. The rice is standard, no seasoning, but the roasted tomatoes were a nice touch. Truly no frills to the point I didn't really enjoy dining in (maybe would've helped if they played some music) but will definitely get the lamb kebab to go in the future.“

The carts come around and you begin your feast. My favorites are chicken feet, spare ribs in black bean sauce, salt and pepper lobster and stir fried Chinese broccoli (not pictured). The bbq pork buns and pineapple custard buns were fantastic as well.

Chicken feet were tender and flavorful. Pork spareribs had great flavor but wasn’t as tender as I would’ve liked. The salt & pepper lobster was crispy on the outside and meat was delicious. I could’ve sat there all day eating it.

The bbq pork buns had a little sticky glaze on top and the bun was so soft. The bbq pork filling had sweetness to it. The pineapple custard bun was a great dessert item to finish off a wonderful meal here. It was soft, topping was crumbly and the custard filling just oozing like an egg yolk. The bun was soft, sweet and delicious!

Service was great. Staff were helpful and friendly.

“I’ve been going to Gerry’s Italian Kitchen for a long time, and I’ve always had a great experience. The pizza is consistently delicious, the steak & cheese subs are excellent, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming.
I’ve seen some of the negative reviews, and honestly, many of them seem to be about very small issues. Every restaurant makes mistakes once in a while there isn’t a single place that’s perfect 100% of the time. What really matters is how they respond, and from my experience, the staff has always been willing to listen and make things right.
Gerry’s is a hardworking local business that deserves support. If you’re looking for great Italian food and friendly service, I’d definitely recommend giving them a try.“
