The service is great and super helpful especially for first timers. While the broths are great, overall the food is okay and will not blow your mind. The menu is a bit chaotic and it can be challenging to pick the right amounts and types of meat to use for the hotpot. I would probably try out different , smaller places going forward“
“Absolutely loved it! We had the karami and enmi ramen, and shared the gyoza. We finished every last drop of the ramen and wanted to bathe in the sauce on the gyoza OMG. “Good Sushi and suburbs are two concepts you don't always link together. Wakefield, in particular, was a bit of a food culture change for us, having grown up in the city and having lived in Somerville for years, so when this place showed up, we just had to try it. Well, we were blown away. This is some of the best sushi I've had in New England. My wife and I both have some dietary restrictions, which can be tricky with Japanese food, but Allen and his family were extremely accommodating and made us feel like 1st class citizens. Everything we got was fresh, made to order and was extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend the omakase menu if you have the time and appetite, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail put this place heads up just about any sushi shop around.“

“We made reservations online for the Omaska. It was $300 which broke down to $120 per person with tip and tax. The tables were perfectly space out. They gave us a 2 hour limit which was enough time for the 12 course Omaska. Presentation on everything was amazing. Each course was fresh and delicious in their own way. It was hard to hear the man over his mask so I couldn't get any names. We had uni, tuna belly, scallops, and more. All the Courses were small but packed with favor. “I recommend everything about Shore Leave. We came here on Tuesday during a work trip and had the best night of the whole trip. Food was great, drinks were great, and the staff was amazing. The atmosphere was so fun (there’s a disco ball!) and very welcoming of all customers. The uni from Maine was more like sweet Japanese uni and better tasting than San Diego uni. The hamachi kama was a treat and huge. This is as good as best sushi in Tokyo and very fresh and authentic, yet unbeatable prices especially for Boston.“

We were seated immediately with maybe few more tables open. We order some Yakitori and appetizers to start. The pork belly, chicken gizzards and chicken hearts were extremely flavorful. Hotate Kaiyaki came out on a little warmer with a little flame and very cool presentation. Tako Yaki was good as well.For main courses we order chicken katsu dinner and dragon roll and caterpillar and sashimi combo. The kids love the chicken katsu. They also loved the maki rolls. Sashimi also fresh.Overall we had a great time. The food were very good. The stars were the Yakitori skewers.Parking: Plenty of meter parking on the same street as the restaurant.“

We had the dragon roll, tuna rice cakes and the shrimp noodles The 8 piece dragon roll was very good, with just right crunch for the tempura shrimp. My favorite was the tuna rice cakes. These bite sized pieces had a layer of tuna that melted in your mouth, along with the perfect tasting cakes which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only disappointment was the shrimp noodle dish. Although tasty, this shrimp in this dish were a bit tough. The noise level was too much for us but I would return on a different day.“
