The vines cover everything, cute lights, great vibes.. but I guess the flies thought so too. We got the sopressata pizza and it was really good, especially the crust. “My friends and I went to Motorkat today after attending a play in Olney. Mikey was our server and was a stellar server. He was friendly yet professional. We came in with an appetite. We started with the smoked salmon and artichoke dip. The portion size was nice, and the chunky texture and flavor fit well with the Saltines. Next was the pistou salad, roasted sunchokes and the pork belly with creamy grits. The pistou salad was artfully plated and was soo good. The roasted sunchokes came with a miso ranch dressing and sesame seeds. It was so good and the mixed textures worked well. The pork belly sat on a bed of the creamiest grits I've ever had. The pork belly was tender, and the smoky tomatoes were a great paring and provided just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Still hungry, we ordered the flank cut short ribs and broccolini. The grilled broccoli were lighly tossed with chili garlic sauce, peanuts and basil. Divine. The flank cut ribs were Cumin scented and accented with a tart cucumber salad. They were fork tender and very flavorful. Our only disappointment was the scallion Pancake with pickled vegetables. We felt that overall then presentation was nice, but the Pancake was a bit thick and was a bit charred on the bottom. The pickled vegetables overpowered the pancake.. Out meal ended with mango sorbet. Overall, we loved the service Mikey provided, and all the staff was gracious. I highly recommend this spot for dinner. Thank you!“

“The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

“This is my favorite bar in DC. Burgers are outstanding if you want the bigger more American type burger compared to say a smash burger. The fries are excellent, and the beers are the best in the city. Duvel is the greatest beer ever, no one else pours them this good!“

“We visited from Tennessee to come here obviously because we are HUGE fans of Chef Dorzon... to our absolute delight I got to fan girl and meet him!!! I am absolutely obsessed! To make the visit even better, the food was freaking phenomenal! Our waitress made our stay perfect. “This is the place I go to when I want perfectly made deli style food. I do not know why but I wake up once a week craving a meatball sub from Orion Sky Cafe. The cold cut sub is very good as well and I am slowly trying the other sandwiches on the menu and have not found one that was not either very fresh or well prepared. The chicken or beef teriyaki with fried rice is a very large portion and perfectly prepared. The specials are all very different and worth a try. The staff are super out going and very friendly. One of my favorite things in the restaurant is the old school food menu displayed over the drink station. I would highly recommend this restaurant.“

“A concept created during the pandemic, I’m so glad it’s back inside Shilling Canning Company. Available inside and to go, there are six sandwiches on the menu and a weekend breakfast burrito. Every part of the sandwich is created in house except for raising the animals for the meat.Trying every sandwich at their launch party, every single one was delicious, especially with the housemade buns. However, my favorite was the “Chivito” with beef, ham, bacon, egg, and more. The “Ampburger” tastes like a gourmet Big Mac and it’s everything.Their wedge fries are crispy and nice. The homemade chocolate chip cookies are chocolate heavy and always warm. So good!They also sell Mexican Coca-Cola and Sprite in glass bottles.Service is always excellent and street or a paid parking lot are nearby.“

“Busy Blue-collar Breakfast & lunch spot. Good customer service, only don't expect them to answer phone to take your orders from 7-8:30am(not likely). It can be a wait for items off the grill. The food is hot, & fresh, well cooked. Western omelet, pancakes, are popular 4 breakfast . Chicken Noodle soup, Baked Chicken legs quarters, & Beefaroni(really good) are lunch top picks.
