“The experience was excellent—thoughtful food, attentive service, and a menu that rewards curiosity. The surprise of the night was the green beans. I expected them to be fine, maybe forgettable. Instead, they were outstanding—deeply flavored, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best vegetable dishes I've had in recent memory. Not something I'd normally order, but they're the kind of dish that lingers long after the meal ends. The shrimp croquettes were another highlight: beautifully crisp on the outside with a moist, delicate center. The curry flavor led confidently, followed by a clean shrimp finish. Balanced, intentional, and very well executed. The scallion pancakes were solid but unremarkable. They do their job, but in a lineup this strong, they didn't stand out. The truffle dumplings, however, were a hit—especially for my wife, who declared them her favorite dish of the night. The buttery corn sauce, truffle-scented edamame, and tofu filling worked together seamlessly. Rich without being heavy, and clearly a crowd-pleaser. For mains, the duck drunken noodles were excellent. The duck was exceptionally tender, not at all gamey, and paired perfectly with the noodles—easily the best entrée we ordered. The short ribs were the one disappointment. While the flavor was good, the texture missed the mark—noticeably chewy and lacking the melt-in-your-mouth quality you hope for from a dish like this. Service throughout was warm and attentive. My wife enjoyed the wine selection, and I was impressed with the ginger cardamom shrub, which was thoughtful and well balanced. Overall, Queen's English delivers a creative, satisfying experience with a few truly standout dishes—especially those green beans, which I'm still thinking about. A strong showing, and absolutely worth a visit.“

“I like authentic Chinese food and this place has dishes that are very similar to what I had in China. It’s really hard to find Chinese restaurants in the states that aren’t “Americanized.”

The numbing picked sour fish soup was delicious, and the side dishes (marinated chicken slices and cucumber salad) was extremely flavorful.“

“Above and beyond anything I've had food-wise in DC. First of all, the prices are incredible for the area and the portions are also solid. The beef rice bowls I are PERFECT. The vegetables are delicious, the meat is well-seasoned, the rice is cooked to perfection, and it has just the right amount of both sauce and spice. I'm also a bubble tea fiend and the matcha bubble tea is consistently tasty and mixed very well.
The staff I've spoken to are very personable and sweet, too. Service is incredibly efficient, but not so jarringly quick that it's clearly just taking stuff out of the back and throwing it into a bag. They take the time to prepare your food well. This little place is so, SO worth it.“

The soup dumplings are perfectly juicy and flavorful, the spicy beef noodle soup has a rich, satisfying broth with just the right kick, and the mango bubble tea is refreshing and not overly sweet. Everything tastes fresh and made with care. The place is cozy, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Definitely worth a visit! Oh they have robots running around so can be fun with kids.“

“I was excited to try this new dumpling spot since I heard it just opened. I tried to make a reservation ahead of time since it was the weekend, but there seemed to be an issue with their system and it wouldn’t go through. So I had to just show up and ended up waiting a long time to get seated.

However, once we got in, the food was actually really good and everything came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. The reservation issue and the wait weren’t great, but the dumplings were tasty enough that I’d go back again.“

“The ownership of this restaurant has changed, but the food did not disappoint! Ordered Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Chicken Broccoli, and Lo Mein. First of all, Fried Rice was not too soft or mushy. It was still really warm even after bringing it home. The egg in the Fried Rice looked fresh, being better than the last owner’s. The Egg Roll stayed the same, which was still really tasty! The Chicken Broccoli tasted great. Not too much sauce and the broccoli was not too soft or hard. The Lo Mein was well cooked with the right amount of sauce! The son working at the counter was also really kind while taking and giving me my order. Will be ordering again!“

“The Chongqing Spicy Chicken is fantastic every time. If you have never had it before this is the place to get it. All of the dishes I've tried are very fresh and aromatic, especially regarding the oils and sauces. It is very apparent that all the ingredients are of good quality. “I had dinner with my friends at this place for several times. The food is good. i am not happy about the recent mooncake order. My assorted flavor order (6) contains only purple yam and mix nuts. Purple yam flavor is not listed in the original order website. The most similar one is purple yam and egg yolk. My expectation would be one cake for each flavor with one / two duplicates. Then I made the call for confirmation, I was told that the assorted flavor order are picked by mooncake master. It would more helpful to specify such information in the website. Otherwise, a little disappointed after one month wait.“

“It’s a staple on my list of comfort places to go. I usually deal with Stephanie and shes always courteous. The food is also usually consistently good.

Came in today and my order included 5 wings split. Tina made it a meal and I didn’t notice till I got home. There was a bit of a misunderstanding when I called in regarding it but she took my name and number and will provide a credit next time I’m in so that was resolved. This review is to keep them accountable for the next time I’m in the restaurant since I don’t know when that’ll be next.

“Not only is every dish delicious, but the service at Isshin is so warm, so welcome and so lovely. Secret menu item is the handmade dumplings (they have two types so ask for these specifically). Their miso soup is very rich but not overly salty, which can be difficult to find, yet it is here daily and for a good price. I’m particularly in love with their udon noddles, which I get vegetarian with tofu, and the veggies are perfectly crisp. Their sushi rolls are fresh and I never get the seaweed burps. They know us when we walk in and make my wife and I feel like family. Become a regular, it’s worth it.“

I had the soup dumplings and Peking Duck Buns for my appetizers and they were exceptional! I had the Dan Dan Noodles for my main course. It was also delicious. In fact, they were the best Dan Dan Noodles I've ever eaten! The portion is also very large as I had some difficulty finishing it.“

“Stepping into this place felt like I’d been teleported straight into Hong Kong—no plane ticket, no jet lag, just pure dim sum magic. The décor? Authentic down to the teapots. The air buzzes with people chatting in Chinese, which immediately told me: I’d stumbled into the real deal.
