“My daughter and I had an incredible dining experience at Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar, all thanks to our amazing waitress, Joanne! From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm smile and an infectious energy that set the tone for the whole meal. Her patience was remarkable, especially when we had a few questions about the menu, and she offered insightful, accurate recommendations that truly made our meal memorable. Not only was she knowledgeable about the dishes, but her sense of humor made the experience so much fun! She was so personable, treating us like old friends rather than just customers. On top of that, her level of customer service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing, and always checking in at the right moments. We truly appreciated the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism she brought to the table, and it really elevated our time at Hook & Reel. My daughter and I will definitely be returning, and we’ll be hoping to see her again!”

“This place is amazing! I came here with my friends and the staff was very friendly and accommodating! The food here is delicious, I got the Chicken Fried Rice and one of my friends let me try some of her Chicken Bun, both items were full of flavor at a reasonable price with a good portion.

The atmosphere is great too! They have some seasonal decorations that make the place look cute, and they provide board/card games that kept my friends and I entertained for a while! Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the food, but I will definitely be coming back!”

“If you fantastic food, you need to try this place. It is real authentic Salvadorean cuisine and they always do it 100%. My husband and I come here all the time. In my picture:
- Tacos De Birria (🔥 tacos)
- Sopa de Marisco (seafood soup)
- Pupusas de frijol con queso (bean and cheese)
- Melon Smoothie( frozen, all natural)

“Tasty but inconsistent. My husband finds their food too sweet - like they use more sugar in the sauces than normal. Twice they've forgotten to include the soup I paid extra for, so double-check before leaving.

Portion sizes are great - we always have lots of leftovers when we get 3 combo meals for 2 adult and 2 young kids.

We had the sesame chicken and orange chicken (both on the sweet side) and the hunan beef (very fresh and nice). We ordered medium spicy for the beef and even though I could see red pepper on it, it wasn't spicy - at all. I even gave some to the baby. The fried rice and egg rolls are good.”

“We were very impressed with the quality of sushi and the level of customer service - when we got home from picking up our order tonight, we realized they’d forgotten to give us our miso soups and shrimp tempura appetizers while there. We saw that they’d called us to let us know and one of the team had also chased after my husband as he drove away. Anyway, they made it right and we will be a repeat customer for sure! Our kids loved the edamame, crunchy California roll and soups, and we recommend the Sushi & Sashimi combo. Delicious!”

“This is the second year I had rhuths kitchen catered my son's birthday and it was a hit. Everyone finished everything. I had tray of jollof perfectly spiced, puff puff, stew chicken and roasted croaker. I also regularly get their shawarma and jollof spaghetti and it is delish! They also have milky chin-chin which is also very good”

“We visited this spot for lunch or dinner while working around the Wharton area. Since moving to Philly, we make it a point to return every year for lunch. Their Watercrest Stir Fry is a must-try, thanks to its tempting garlic aroma and crunchy Watercress. We particularly enjoy their deep-fried Silver Fish and Pork Chop—absolutely tasty. The pork intestines are also outstanding. If you love authentic cuisine, this is a place you should definitely visit.”

“I am stunned in how delicious this chicken was. I actually wish I would have ordered more. The chicken is so flavorful that you don’t need the sauces provided. I also got a chicken pupusa. It was bland but at the same time, I couldn’t stop eating it. It was stuffed with lots of chicken, which was pretty impressive. Service was great, food was better than expected. A must try if you’re around here.”

“a lot of the four star ratings were years ago... it's still a cozy place but the female Batista tossed food on the counter then toss the other customers. as far as my drink it was at the end of the counter out of sight. still waiting I asked and got the new normal which is bare minimum.... but just a customer that was passing through keep your four to five stars”

“I remember coming here many years ago, and returned for the first time today after being away from the immediate area for a while.

The owner provided very friendly service as well as his other staff. He was very patient in informing me of the available meal options, and allowed me to sample the chicken items that I was interested in

The location appeared to be very clean as well, 5 Star service all around.”

“Got a watermelon- raspberry lemonade from here yesterday and my family came online to see if they deliver! It was refreshing and not too sweet or sour. I found the price of $1 to size up from regular to large to be very affordable based on how much more you get.”
