“The Bean Bag Bakery & Deli! What a wonderful discovery! I'm sure I'm late to the party, but so glad to be in the know' now!

I was having my car repaired on a little shop nearby and was told the repair would take half a day. Not knowing where I would hang out for that long, the shop owner told me to walk around the corner to The Bean Bag. The moment I walked in the door, the first thing that caught my eye was how cute it is decorated. It's a fusion of Old country store meets New York City deli with a splash of tribute to all Washington sports teams.
No sooner had I stepped into the deli when the owner greeted me from the back and said, " Welcome to the Bean Bag". I told him my car is being repaired on the corner and he even welcomed me to sit down without ordering anything if I wanted, but of course, I DID want! I ordered an egg reakfast sandwich. There's not much to go wrong on an egg sandwich, but there's a whole lot that can go right and The Bean Bag mastered it all. My sandwich resembled the infamous "Dagwood sandwich" stacked high with the goodies. ( If you catch that reference, you're in your '50s or older, lol)
I love that they offered oat milk or almond milk for the coffee as well. During my time at The Bean Bag, I watched so many come in that were welcomed as family and I could tell they were the locals that knew all the employees.
I also saw a huge catering order put together that was taken out for delivery. This place is quite impressive and I am glad to know how busy this little gem of a place is located in a very inconspicuous little strip shopping center that I've probably driven by many times and never knew was here. They have a cute seating area outside that is very inviting. Cute wooden chairs and tables with fresh sunflowers make for a great space to enjoy! Big spacious umbrellas shield from sun and rain and add a nice cafe aesthetic too!

For cookie connoisseurs, I also noticed they have giant family recipe homemade cookies. They look like they would make an excellent hostess gift too as I saw some platters wrapped in adorable red polka dot cellophane paper is that made a really cheerful gift presentation!

“Really good food! I just moved to the area and I was looking for some good local food spots to check out, came across Wow Deli and decided to give them a shot. I came in and ordered the Washington Cheesesteak and man was it good! Plenty more of meat and veggies, large portion of fries, and not overly priced! I will definitely be back soon!“

“Excellent Subs! online website for pickup or delivery has been improved so you can select delivery online without any problems. This was partially due to the website connection to Doordash at the same time, even if you do not select them and are doing a delivery, not pickup. The employees at the store never see the directions. That goes to Doordash's website and must be sent over to another delivery company but on the website it is clear that Jersey Mike's prefers Doordash as they actually have it highlighted in blue and call it Jersey Mike's Preferred way to have delivery.
I just had a conversation with someone who was very nice at the Rockville Store. But just about confusion over the vinegar and olive oil which I explain if you keep reading. The confusion about the oil and vinegar if you want to keep an extra sub in the fridge and don't want the bread like it was dipped in water the next day. I was told what I thought was two different stories and the nice man just explained the confusion to me. I was told olive oil and then the vinegar are already together, which contradicts the check boxes on the website. The website is correct. What they do if you want them on the side is: they have already made on the side cups for both oil and the vinegar, both but in separate cups. They will only give you one or the other if you add a note to the "Customization" button. They will always give both to customers together otherwise, which explains the confusion and makes perfect sense to me. If they start taking from the premade pairs then they will end up with having just one or the other so they leave the pairs alone to go out together. What you don't know when ordering online is that they always sent out both unless you say literally "Oil on the side" under the "Customization" part of the order process, for example. Then they will go get an empty cup and pour you a side cup of oil directly from the olive oil bottle, same for just the vinegar. That is why managers told me they were both together at first which is really confusing when the website shows them separate.“

“I work across the street at the DoubleTree Silver Spring DC North. I come here once or twice a week along with much of my team. The owner is friendly and this is passed along to the staff as well! The food is always tasty and consistent. You can't go wrong here! JP“

“?I went in for a 1/2 cold cut sub /w a cheddar broccoli soup meal (but also had wanted some chicken noodle soup as an alternative choice??‍♂️grandparents). My order was prepared in a timely matter due to it was the slow peak hours?. I accidentally grabbed the bag that the soup was in incorrectly so the soup spilled???‍♂️. The employee(but I assume she's the manager because of the humility she displayed & they we're wearing the same uniform) listened my concern to what occurred after I left the establishment from recieving my order. A little rush came in (maybe 6 or 7 hungry customers came in as I was about to get the replace cup to pr my soup in. I humbled myself and waited patiently as the other patrons placed they're order. The young lady employee(she was older than I was but showing respect and gratitude because a man never ask a ladies age) called me to the register and gave me a new soup. I only went back into the establishment to swap soup cups but because of my patience I was rewarded with a new soup and was also warned to be careful this time. Moral of the story is patience brings greater rewards. FYI The Service was excellent which put a smile on my face. You never know who'll brighten your day.“

“I came here to eat after my church service one day. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Just going there after church made my day more holy. It was just perfect. “The owner received the order and was working. It seems that it was a very difficult time due to the decrease in sales due to the pendemic. The store was very customerless. It's useless to talk to the owner of the situation... It's the same building owner as my store. It was a story that sympathized with the dissatisfied story of the subway owner, hoping that everyone will help and use each other in difficult times....“

“Good, professional service, but the urinal is terrible. For a cafe with endless coffee, you’d expect a restroom built to accommodate the guest’s need to pee. But the urinal is small, and poorly shaped, that it actually encourages people to end their urine stream on the floor. You see, there is about a 3” lip on the front of the urinal which is completely flat. And the urinal has bad angles so unless you pee just at the right angle on the side, you will experience a significant splatter of urine on your legs.

The lip also causes you to need to stand back to avoid rubbing your pants on the urinal, encouraging you to pee on the floor during the last of your pee stream. I do my best not to, but someone inevitably will pee on the floor due to this bad urinal shape. I suggest getting a better shaped urinal to accommodate guests who come to the cafe to drink coffee, which is a diuretic, and large amounts of fluids.

The employees who maintain the bathroom also would benefit from not having to clean as much pee off the floor and having a better restroom experience.

The food is pretty good, fresh bread and fresh ingredients, and flavorful recipes bring new flavors to the palette. It is however not the best value when it comes to serving sizes. But the loyalty program can provide significant discounts.“

“My wife and I ate lunch here in October 2021. The Potbelly Sandwich Shop is a chain. This restaurant is located near Catholic University and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. I had a veggie sandwich and my wife had a turkey sandwich. We ate our sandwiches outside where they had some tables. There was a bus stop nearby so we took the bus back to downtown Washington.“

“For some reason people keep having bad experiences with Kenny's, but I had/have good times with them. We don't go inside the restaurant but we order over the phone. My favorite dish from Kenny's is a steak and cheese combo with fries and a ginger ale. Sometimes it does take a long time to get here but, it's worth the wait. The food is very good! I like the way they make the fries and the steak and cheese sub. The fries have a perfect amount of salt and the sub is by far the best thing ever! “It's a Subway, so no atmosphere, no decor, but the place was super clean -- possibly close to closing time at 4:40p on a Tuesday. Easy parking in this large strip mall parking lot. I purchased two foot-long chicken and onion teriyaki sub combo meals, which included a small soft drink and choice of chips or a cookie for each meal. No other patrons in the store at the time, so very quiet, and the gal who helped was quick and pleasant... particularly when my newly-downloaded Subway App had to be re-downloaded to get it to work. But, as this was my very first time scanning from the Subway App, when I was told by the employee the scanner was ready I apparently held my phone too close to the scanner face because it didn't scan until I pulled my phone away in frustration...then, it beeped as scanned. But the store employee watched me as I kept trying to scan with my phone right up against the scanner and I even said it's not working but she didn't suggest that I was holding my phone too close. Also, when I asked to instead provide my phone number to get points -- because when I initially signed up for the rewards program, it stated that my phone number would suffice for in-store points accrual -- the employee indicated that wasn't doable. As the only staff member at the counter, she didn't seem like a new employee -- she certainly knew how to make the subs and ring up the combo purchases -- so, it could be that some additional scanner and rewards program training/information is needed. However, to rectify the scanning problem, she might have consulted with the other employee in the back, who passed through the front for a second when I first arrived at the counter, especially since they weren't busy. And, to add to the experience, both heavy foot-longs were placed in the same bag, which handles broke off and the thin paper bag crashed onto the rain-soaked ground spilling out the chips just as I reached my car -- those flimsy paper carry bags aren't strong enough to hold two foot-long subs, which should have been placed in separate bags. Anyway, though a few frustrations, when I finally got home, I thoroughly enjoyed my sub.“
