It's a new family favorite in Bar Harbor, and I have converted to loving seafood and the raw menu because of the loft! The ahi tuna nachos were a hit all around and a big recommendation to try! We can't wait to go back! The staff and food was amazing, and they even catered to my two children (1yr and 4yrs old).”

And as someone who has to eat gluten free I was so impressed when the waiter brought out gluten free bread for me when he brought out bread for the table AND my own butter/spreads for it so there wasn’t cross contamination. Every dish we ate was amazing. Do not overlook the vegan option! My daughter (not vegan) thought it was one of the best meals she has eaten in years.”

“the dinner i had was excellent but when I asked to take two pieces of tiramisu home with me I did not realize it was going to be two mini ice cream bars with the sticks pulled out for $14 each. this is not a proper tiramasu desert at what i thought was a authentic Italian restaurant”

“Stopped in for lunch after arriving to bar harbor. This place was great. Clean New England beach decor and vibe. Dishes came out quick and well plated. The fish and chips were good and the tartar sauce and slaw good as well. Adult Kids got the crab cakes they said were a bit bread-y but still delish. A great start to our bar harbor vacation.

“Tuesdays are slow days for any bar. Not The Barnacle, though. Industry workers and outdoorsy types were walking into the bar, giving it a cozy, neighborhood vibe. Pockets of friends were chattering away in the hidden nooks of the bar. Barstool tables were patronized by all walks of life. The Barnacle felt like a gathering place where everyone was welcome, and that was the vibe we were looking for when walking downtown in Bar Harbor after checking into our hotel.

The menu list was extensive enough, with some food options available. The bar itself is a bit small, but there seems to be an outdoor patio space (verify this, though, as I just saw the back door open).

This is a great place to end your day, or start your adventure. The menu is sized right for the size of the bar itself, and the Paloma Kombucha Margarita isnot too sweet, but certainly delicious. I will be back here again!”

She has an incredible vision and the skill to create stunning tablescapes. I had a general idea of what the table would look like, but she went above and beyond—it was even more beautiful than I imagined. She personalized the entire setup, from fresh flowers to custom name cards, and my guests were so impressed. “This is what my wife and I will say about Janice’s cakes: We were married 30+ years ago and we and our guests are STILL talking about the cake. “Slice of Eden made our wedding cupcakes last year and they were fantastic! We had half of them made as chocolate with Swiss buttercream icing and half blueberry lemon cupcakes with whipped cream icing. They were a huge hit and gone so fast! We decided to have them make us a small blueberry lemon cake with whipped cream icing for our anniversary this year since we did not have one to save from our wedding. They knocked it out of the park! I can’t say enough good things about this place!”

Are they going to spend 10 minutes making your kid feel like the 1,000th adorable customer of the day just discovered ice cream for the first time? 😂 Nope. They’re friendly, efficient, and maybe a little blunt — but in the best way. They’re there to hand you a seriously good scoop, not perform a Broadway production about it.

“We ordered their Bar Harbor hot Chicken Sandwich with mac-n-cheese, chicken salad on a green salad with berries, feta, and pecans. Their hot chicken was the closest to Nashville's original Prince's hot chicken we've had. The salad was great - a light hand to the vinaigrette and ample but balanced portions of berries, feta, and pecans. The loaded fries were good too and not soggy from all the toppings. Refreshing sangria slushy and a nice IPA topped off our meal. The ordinary done very well and a great stop to include during your stay in Bar Harbor.”
