“A fukkin fantastic bar with a great staff. I LOVE the classic movies playing constantly and only wish you had more t-shirts available. Anytime I'm in Detroit I find a reason to stop by.“

“Drinks were excellent/delicious with names appropriate to bar’s theme (and also with Halloween). Needs more non-sweet small food selections. The spinach pie is good but would be better if heated for 20 secs. Cannoli is good but doesn’t go with some alcoholic drinks. Overall — bravo on creating a good place to go for drinks!“
“This place is a time capsule to a simpler era. The decor is a hodgepodge of kitsch and nostalgia, the jukebox is stuck in the 80s, and the bartender has seen it all. The drinks are cheap and the clientele is a colorful mix of regulars and lost souls. It's the kind of place where you can get into a deep conversation with a stranger about the meaning of life or the best way to fry an egg.“

“I just spent a week drinking through some of the best cocktail bars in Tel Aviv and was reminded how none of them come even close to the amazing cocktails that the Kevin, Kyle, and the rest of the Castalia team come up with! Each visit to Castalia, be it your first or one thousandth, is magical and wonderful!“

“Janel is an incredible Mixologist and Individual as a whole. Her creative vision from her art work, or her art and fresh, awe-aspiring, intrinsic cocktails she creates. The bar program alone is an experience no review could do justice, you’ll have to give yourself that pleasure. Don’t just take my word for it. The food, impressive design, indescribable ambience ~ EVERYTHING here is just so intentionally thought of and executed with clear passion. It’s a true gift to Ferndale’s community, and an incredible experience for even more. If you’re looking at this with consideration, consider it settled. Here’s the address to save some time on your next destination. 140 Vester Ave Ferndale, MI 48220 United States Thank you Syndicate Ferndale. 11/10 would recommend!“

“I live down the street and this is one of my top 3 spots. Food is delicious and interesting. Atmosphere is cool and not overdone. Drinks are proper and the bartenders and waitstaff are professionals that know how to run a bar. Love taking my friends here and visiting solo.“
“We walked in to the Buhl Bar and where greeted by George and Aish they where both so friendly and so full of information. We provided our preferences in taste and allowed George to select and make our cocktails. He nailed our tastes and delivered the best cocktails we have had. This place has such a great art deco vide the service was second to none and the drinks amazing. Thank you George and Aish it was a pleasure to have meet you both.“

“Came here for a post dinner cocktail and had a great experience.
We did come on the early side (8:30pm) but loved the vibe and the cocktails were unique and delicious.
We also trialed the mocktails which was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend and will be returning !“

“My lady and I celebrated our anniversary at Bar Pigalle last night, and it was just as incredible as we remembered. We had been once before and absolutely loved it, so returning was an easy choice.
The ambiance is elegant yet inviting. It has that hidden-gem quality that makes you feel special the moment you walk in. Our server, Adam, was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
And the food? Phenomenal. We started with two expertly crafted cocktails, the Turn on Red and the French Caffee, both delightful in their own way. For appetizers, we shared the beet salad and mushroom gratin, which were flavorful and perfectly prepared. But the real reason we came back...The burger.
I know it’s “just” a burger, but this is the burger I judge all others by. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best I’ve ever had—juicy, flavorful, and just downright delicious. If you're a burger lover, this is the one you need to try.
Bar Pigalle continues to impress, and we’ll absolutely be back again!“

“Went for my fiancée’s birthday. First time ever going. Brandon was our server, only way I knew is the hostess told us—he was awful. Kept snorting up snot or something every time he came to the table. Never introduced himself, never told us about the menu, nothing. Waited 25 minutes for water. The cocktails we had were nice. Well balanced. We ordered steak tartare and deviled eggs for appetizers-the steak was very salty. Wasn’t expecting such a large amount of food, with such small amount of accompaniments (four VERY hard pieces of baguette…). Fiancee said the eggs were good, but also salty. Ordered steaks for dinner. The steaks were masterfully cooked, and the sauces were wonderful. And the side of mushrooms were great too. Our server was very ‘rushed’ to get us out of there. Didn’t even ask about dessert or after dinner drinks…
Would we come back, probably. Wouldn’t let that Brandon guy wait on us again. He was awful.“

“Ate in the lounge and had fantastic service. Lovely wood smoke smell in the place. Tried 4 different red wine between my wife and I, all terrific. The small plates we tried were all excellent. My favorite was the whipped salted cod and my wife loved the maitake mushrooms. The mains were also great, the halibut was our favorite. The sherry for dessert was great.
Overall, a surprisingly good meal with fun and knowledgeable wait staff. Best meal I e had had in a good while.“
“Awesome spot! Food is great, service is superb, and cozy atmosphere (nice and tucked away). It’s a must come back kinda place TD approved! Travelin D’Vas“
“Warm and friendly atmosphere with the Motown sounds flowing along with notes of rhythm and blues on a Saturday night. The kitchen is open for fried chicken and fish which you can savor on the patio or at a table. This bar is pulsing with excitement on Friday night; standing room only and parking gets expired around 11. It's small in size but big on entertainment. Cash bar of course.“

“Seeing the city from 24 stories up provided amazing views. It’s a unique experience.“
“This place should have a 6th star.
- Drinks: On point.
- Absinthe experience: Waitstaff is very knowledgeable and it’s fun to watch. It’s STRONG and herby.
- Decor: Almost everything was custom build or original historical pieces.
Overall, this place is super comfortable and is the definition of a clean, classy pub/bar. It’s full of creativity and personality.
If you want history, the waitstaff can walk you through the renovations and history of the building going back to when it became the iconic Jacoby’s in 1904 and further to when it used to be a blacksmith shop and being originally built in the 1800’s.
If you’re ever seeking a quality bar, go here.“

“Love The Oakland - just a great, dark cozy cocktail lounge with good music. I had the Green Badu this time, and it was just perfect. They also have a nice list of n/a drinks - the B Nektar SOber cider was so delicious and sugar free! Rare in a mocktail. Service is excellent, and it's a great stop before or after dinner, or as a break while holiday shopping.“

“Went to FrameBar yesterday for the BirriaBar pop-up with chef Eddie Vargas. Food was excellent and a great value for the amount of food at the price point. I loved that the chef was making the rounds in the dining room to ensure every customer was satisfied. The birria platter and quesabirria were both great, as well as the salsas, queso, and aguacates. Lastly, the bar had good Mexican-inspired drink options, with the smoked Oaxacan old fashioned being my favorite for both taste and presentation. Great work all around.“

“We did something a bit unconventional and rented Public House out for our very small wedding ceremony and it was perfect. It was simple but so so special and memorable. The staff was amazing and worked to accommodate all of our needs. Taylor, especially was so amazing and helpful in coordinating our event. Public House made our day so memorable and I couldn't recommend it enough - either for a private event, or just for some drinks and apps. My husband and I love it!😊“

“We came to The Whitney for an early birthday dinner for my husband. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience there! The staff went above and beyond my expectations. The food was amazing and cost was much less than I would have expected for the caliber and presentation of our meals and dessert. For all of you paranormal afficionados, their Ghost Bar is a must. The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants. Please consider supporting them by being a patron the next time you are in Detroit.“
