“I have eaten here several times over the last few years, the food is always fresh, hot, and the portions are HUGE. The place is a "mom and pop". it's ran by the owners, a husband-and-wife team. Because it's just the two of them when it gets busy it takes them awhile to answer the phone and there could be as much as a 30–45-minute wait for your food. It's also carry out only. If you don't mind the no dine in option or the wait, this will probably be one of the best Chinese food places you have eaten at in the downriver area.“

“This restaurant is currently taking a short break because the owners just welcomed a new baby—congratulations to them! I’ll definitely be back when they reopen.

The beef cold noodles are one of my favorite dishes in Windsor. The noodles have the perfect chewy texture, and the beef is beautifully braised and full of flavor. You can really tell the food is made with care and tastes just like authentic Chinese food.

I also have to mention their homemade Sichuan chili oil. It’s honestly the most fragrant chili oil I’ve had in Windsor. The owner even gave me a small container to take home, and it was still incredibly aromatic a month later.

“Dined here for dinner; located at the mall, just 7 minutes away from the Hilton Double Tree Hotel. Had the Kung Pow chicken for my main course, and spring rolls for appetizer. The restaurant was pretty empty as it was a the middle of the week. Service was fast. My server Madison was very friendly and polite. She made sure that her customers were satisfied. Overall it was an ok experience.“

The only shortfall we found in the restaurant was the BLINDING sun on the East side windows. A good set of adjustable blinds would be a welcomed addition on those East side windows. “I have been a customer and have enjoyed delicious meals since it opened in 1985. We had moved away 20 years ago and whenever we came back to visit we would try to go to Shin Shin whenever possible. Staff have always been very friendly and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed in a meal. Last night my husband and I had a dinner date there. We were not disappointed. Very homey, comfort food.
We always get Crab Rangoons, Cashew Chicken, Egg Foo Yung and Sesame Chicken all which are excellent.

“I was honestly a little nervous walking into this hole-in-the-wall spot but you already know that usually means it’s about to be really good.

I ordered the sesame chicken lunch combo (about $9.15, cash only), and wow… everything was fresh and flavorful. This was my first time trying it since my usual spot was closed on a Monday, and I’m so glad I did. The chicken pieces were big, juicy, and real.. none of that weird fatty stuff.

The guy behind me said he’s been coming here since he was 5 years old, which says a lot.

Only reason for 4 stars is the shrimp fried rice only had about 3 pieces of shrimp, but it was still delicious regardless.

Surprised when eating inside no plates or silverware. Everything brought out in to go containers that's okay. Absolutely fantastic Delicious Scallion Pancakes not found in many places. The quart of Spot packed full was good except broth zero flavor like water. Chicken Egg Foo Young nothing like ever had weird crunchy patties with very small amount of gravy. The very good Rice and a mega amount. Egg Roll spot on Wonderful. The bad absolutely worse ever Pupu Platter Chicken Wings dry, Crab Rangoon Yuk, Shrimp heavy batter couldn't taste Shrimp. Ribs just ok, Spring Rolls a winner and what they call Teriyaki Beef I know as Balamaki was great. I'm willing to give them another chance to change my 3 star rating. Great effort by cook just not up to par with dozen other Chinese restaurants in the area.“

“We were actually walking to a deferent Chinese restaurant but couldn’t find it, we stumbled across this place instead. Very happy we did, food was amazing and reasonably priced. Food is definitely cooked incredibly fresh, our food was piping hot. I got the feeling that is was a local spot, many people came in and out to order or pickup while we were in there. Only 2 things could have made this better, air as that kitchen definitely puts off a lot of heat and a table that was level, but to be fair it’s definitely not a place sit down to eat, more of a takeout spot.“

We ordered almond chicken, General Tso chicken, sweet/ sour chicken and sesame chicken and it was delicious. The chicken was all nice white meat and the sauces were fabulous. Egg rolls were yummy too.

It is so hard to find a Chinese restaurant that actually has stuff in their rice that gives it flavor a lot of places have absolutely plain fried rice which I am not a fan of not a onion or sprout in sight but theirs does and I’ll be back to try other dishes.
