“The go to place for dim sum. Family owned with a younger kid running the restaurants which always means the food is amazing. The dim sum menu is voluminous with the traditional dishes. Servers don’t walk around with carts but will walk around with plates of food. Hard to find that nowadays with the traditional carts. The food here is always fresh and busy. “It was a pleasant surprise visiting this place because I definitely did not know about it at all prior to trying the food, but it was a wonderful balance of price, quantity, and flavor, to the point that it made my dining experience worth it! Kataki is nowhere close to an upscale or fine dining place but I felt like I paid for what the food was worth, and possibly even more!The highlights are definitely the sushi! My partner and I only got the yellowtail and the salmon roe sushi but they both tasted very flavorful, and the koshihikari rice was tasty as well. I could tell that the sushi was a specialty in this establishment. The price was very reasonable as well, with $7 for the yellowtail sushi and $11.5 for the salmon roe sushi. The Kataki rolls were great as well, even if I knew that the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy yellowtail combination wasn't uncommon. Someone it tasted fuller and more flavorful than similar items I have had elsewhere.The tonkotsu ramen was solid as well, and I was given a good amount of pork with good texture that tasted slightly different from what I was used to. The broth was only okay, but I know it's hard to achieve perfection for such in a restaurant so I was okay with it. For $14.50, it was worth it!The appetizers such as shumai, softshell crab tempura, age tofu, and takoyaki were also solid, and once again, for $7.5 each ($8.95 for the softshell crab) it was worth it, but they were not as good as the sushi in terms of economical value. The octopus meat in the takoyaki was hard. The age tofu relied on the sauce for flavor completely. And the shumai was a bit soggy. Regardless, they were all solid enough!Once again, I did not expect myself to give a 5 rating to a Japanese food place that wasn't the most well-known for its authenticity or fanciness, but the food was tasty and it made me "feel good" here! There are many establishments like this one, but somehow the food here has had more flavor in comparison.“

We loved the food, we loved the drinks, we loved the atmosphere and warmth of the staff who even joked around with us!I made a last minute reservation for a large group 5 days prior, and not only did Jax Cafe have no trouble accommodating us, they also had custom matchbooks made up for our party!We were held up by a prior event and all it took was a simple phone call to push back our reservation an extra half hour — on Saturday night for 14 people!?!We appreciated ownership personally welcoming us and recognizing the exuberant spirit we came in the door with, and to see owners and staff working together to make our experience great was quite refreshing — the kitchen staff even took a vision-impaired friends filet back to the kitchen to cut it into bite size pieces for him! Jax Cafe truly put everything into their craft, and our glasses were always full, and so were our bellies when we left.I could not have hoped for a better experience, and I am thankful that circumstances brought us to their door and hospitality!Thanks again! She has been there ten years and knew all about the menu and seasonal specials. Had great recommendations and obviously knew what she was doing and talking about. It is priced about the same, as well, so check their menu prices on line before you decode to bring a date. A good bottle of wine, two entrées and a shared dessert for two usually drops between $250 and $300. It is well worth it. Manager responded to our wait exactly the way a hospitality professional should: immediate apology, immediate service and a free appetizer. ( Filet was impeccable, New York strip good, special request handled expertly. Artichoke dip and creme brulee excellent. Butter made in house? But best of all, the food came out HOT. Incredible. “This Cantonese restaurant is not to be missed. We stumbled upon it when over by the U of M and couldn’t have been more impressed with the delicious food. We’ve been here several times now and our must-order is the salt and pepper beef short ribs hot pot,(picture included). The beef is so tender and perfectly seasoned, coming with onions, peppers, and a side of rice of course. Other dishes have been very enjoyable too. The staff is kind, quick to attend to you when you arrive, and clearly the cooks are experts in their field. What’s nice about here too is that it has a good dining atmosphere with a lot of eat-in patrons, not just operating primarily as a takeout joint like many Asian restaurants do. Highly recommend!“
“Slammin’ ceviche!!! Loved everything we ate here, especially enjoyed seeing beef heart and other unique Peruvian dishes on the menu in addition to Mexican standbys. The cocktails were really solid, especially the chicha morada infused Pisco sour, which would put many pricier cocktail spots in the neighborhood to shame. I’m very excited to go back. Our server was awesome too. Prices are reasonable and we got a LOT of food+drink for what we spent.“

The crab cakes were delicious and I appreciate that it came with 3 cakes instead of the normal 2 at most restaurants. My fiance and my teen ordered the chicken and waffles. Warning, the chicken was hot!! My son says he'll get regular strips next time. My fiance liked them. I ordered the New Orleans salmon. My dish was good however with the name New Orleans, I expected way more flavor. I had to add a decent amount of salt to my food and I NEVER use salt. I'll probably order something different next time but we will definitely be returning!“
“I was very pleased that even though our reservation was 12:30, the sound level was quite reasonable and we didn't have to raise our voices to hear each other. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and we enjoyed our sandwishes very much. I did bring a new friend who feels the same as I do, so she might become a new customer. I do enjoy Mill Valley Kitchen. It is a hike for me; I live on the Mississippi River, but worth the trip.“

“This photo may look like an incredibly basic breakfast…and, well, it is! This is my go-to meal when it comes to breakfast or brunch: the old “standard” or “classic” breakfast. But, even though it’s basic, it’s surprisingly easy to mess up. Fortunately, The Lynhall’s version is both delicious and well executed in all the right ways. Two eggs over easy, perfectly cooked and still hot when they arrived at our table. Lightly toasted sourdough bread. Crispy, generously seasoned potatoes (soggy or overly greasy potatoes can be a real bummer). And, Impossible Breakfast sausage, which was a pleasant surprise. I don’t eat meat very often anymore and for some reason it’s challenging to find alternative meat options at our local breakfast joints. The Lynhall has a wide range of creative menu items (rye crepes to falafel to tea brined turkey), but the “Lynhall Standard” is perfect for me. Oh, and the interior decor is anything but standard. Be sure to check it out for yourself. And while you wait for your breakfast, don’t be shy about exploring the bakery case. (Shown in the video is a delectable blueberry muffin.)“
