“This place has everything and it's all perfect. I have visited 5 times and experienced their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything tastes homemade but elevated with the perfect seasoning and flavors. The quiche is always on point and their biscuit sandwich is best in town. The dessert case is my only complaint because you can't decide on just one thing, it all looks amazing and tastes great. They even have a fair amount of gluten free options that actually taste good. Lastly the thing that puts this place above all other Chapel Hill options are the staff. On every visit everyone has been super friendly, relaxed, and welcoming despite how busy or long the line is. Really can't say enough good things about this place, go and see for yourselves!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free dessert items that most places do not offer“

“My boyfriend and I have had 2 great experiences here. To me, Saturday mornings are perfect for their blueberry pancakes with a side of really high-quality bacon. It's so good and the only thing I've gotten. The first time we went, he got the shrimp and grits, which was really good. The grit cake is a nice touch and probably keeps them from having to make a pot of grits. Cheers for efficiency. The second time we went, he got the New Orleans egg souffle (I can't remember the exact name). He said it was bland but still pretty solid. One star off because our first visit was riddled with slow service and the bland dish on the second visit. The drinks were solid, the coffee was hot, and we hope to be back again and again.“

The shrimp taco came with a delicious mango relish. All tacos were pretty good. The vegetarian tacos had substantial filling. They let you order taco combos so that you can try different types of tacos instead of ordering three of the same kind. The service is prompt. The ambience is relaxing. Plenty of parking available in the lot. Looking forward to going back.“

“Great spot in Chapel Hill! Feels local and cozy. We came in on a Friday night before a basketball game and it was decently busy. They had a fire going which was great, and the roof top seating was packed (did not have a chance to go up there). They have a food truck with some solid options. We ordered the sliders and fries, but were told by some regulars that the kale salad is one of their best items. Loved the seasoning on the fries, just wish they were a tad crispier but they are solid overall. Be sure to check them out!“

“As someone that has had NC BBQ from all over the state, I feel I am fairly qualified to make judgements. This is decent Q. It had a nice, mild smokey flavor. From the taste, I would guess it was hickory smoked, which is essential for NC Q.My problem with The Pig's Q is that it contained a fair amount of pieces of fat, skin and gristle. Maybe some folks like this in their Q, but I detest it. If you look at the picture with some material on the left side of the plate, that is the waste I pulled out.The collards were decent, but lacked seasoning, somewhat bland. I asked for vinegar but was told all they had was malt vinegar. I don't know of anyone that puts malt vinegar on collards.I loved the pickles.Overall, I will be returning. I'll just have to take some time to remove the unwanted "extras" mixed in with the pork.“

I only ordered the 7 wings so I could only get one flavor but the flavor I chose was amazing! The side salad was the largest side salad I've had and it full of very fresh veggies including peppers, pumpkins seeds, and more. Just the wings and side salad were very filling! “I love the classic dining room inside of the beautiful old hotel. I have only eaten lunch here and think the pulled pork sandwich is excellent out of dishes I’ve had. Some dishes are served on plates that are actually four bowls attached to each other — that is something I very much dislike. The fries also come in cups rather than on a plate. I know this is a strange critique and that perhaps contemporary American serving is about being inventive, but I prefer just regular plates for food. Regardless, I do think the pulled pork is worth getting, particularly if someone else is buying.“
