“I’m probably a little biased, but this is “the best” little diner around!! Great food, great service, sure!! But, what makes it “the best” is the people!! They make you feel like “family” (even if it’s your first time there), everybody knows everybody!! It’s a great place to just slow down relax and enjoy a few minutes of great food and “small town” hospitality!!”

“Countryside is one of our favorite restaurants in Marion! We moved here last winter and every time we visit, the service is quick and the food is hot and fresh. We love that we never have to wait or ask for the check, they leave it every single time on the table so you can check out up front whenever you’re done eating. They always check on us when our food is delivered to make sure we have everything we need and often the servers are mind readers and bring a side of ranch and gravy when they deliver my chicken tenders & ask if I’d like either. I don’t have to ask them and wait for them to bring it to me. Not often do many restaurant do this so it stood out to me! I also love that they leave a pitcher of the beverage you order on the table so that if you’re engaging with friends or family, we can help ourselves to refills and they don’t have to worry about interrupting a party or neglecting them. As a couple who has spent years in hospitality and the service industry, we absolutely appreciate all of the thoughtfulness that goes into their day to day and will always keep coming back for the great food & service!”

“I hadn’t been to Bruce’s in several years. I had heard that Bruce had passed away, and I wondered if the restaurant was still the excellent place that I remembered. It is! I had a mushroom Swiss burger with cream of cabbage soup on the side. Outstanding! Also, one of the neat things that I always appreciated about eating at Bruce’s was how he would always come out and socialize with customers. Of course, he can no longer do that. But one of his cooks, Chad, has stepped into that role, it seems. He came out to see if everything was okay and we talked about desserts (one is included with the meal). He gave me some good advice and allowed me to sample a couple of different pieces of cake. I ended up with an upgraded dessert (blueberry walnut cheese cake) and a piece of Hawaiian fruit cake to take home for Susanne. Chad has learned the lesson that Bruce intuitively understood. People like to do business with people. Chad made the lunch more than just a transactional experience where he gave me food and I gave him money. Instead, it was someone sharing what they loved to do (cook food) with someone who appreciated it and wanted as more than happy to pay for it. Not coincidentally, I also ended up spending more money than planned because I appreciated the experience. There’s a lesson to be learned here. Thanks to Bruce’s Fabulous Foods, and to Chad, for a great lunch.”

“One of the best burgers you will eat! We regularly travel from Bakersville just to come there to eat. They give you a large portion of french fries as well. The only pet peve is they are VERY stingy with the ketchup, i got 1 pack with my meal and i asked for some extra,,,, they gave 2 extra packets, thats about 6 packets short for the amount of fries you get, i understand that some people are wasteful but I guess I'm going to have to bring my own bottle with me. Overall a great place to eat and will continue making the trip when I'm craving a great burger.”

“Normally very good food, and service but tonight ordered my useual pineapple acp to go, it was late granted about 9:15 but took the food home and not even one chunk of pineapple! it ruined my meal!”

“We stopped at Eddie's close to closing and they cheerfully welcomed us in. The service was fantastic and the food was even better! The family that owns and operates Eddie's introduced themselves and were very down-to-earth and pleasant to talk to. The warm bread was amazing, each pasta dish we tried was excellent, and our salads were crisp and fresh. This place just went to the top of my list for favorite Italian places. I can't wait to try more of the menu!”

“First time visit on Saturday. Deciding factor was to see my ole boss Bob Frisbee and here the music. I am not much on Coffee, but my friend John Owen is. However, I could get addicted to the frozen coffee drink I had x 2. And John enjoyed the chocolate flavored coffee. We will be back for the coffee and more of the entertainment. Nice surroundings. Friendly staff. Definitely a plus for the city of Marion!”

“I had never eaten at Godfather's Pizza because there is not one in my city. I found out there is one in a town about 20 miles from my home. Yesterday I went directly there after church. I am originally from NYC and a huge pizza snob. I have to tell you that Godfather's Pizza is a contender! Try it! You'll LOVE it.”

“We stopped at Tres Hombres on a Sunday evening on the way to Spruce Pine.
What a surprise. The food was excellent. The Tacos, Quesadillas, and Tamales were outstanding.
Prices are very reasonable.
It seemed very authentic.
The restaurant also serves as a grocery store that sells a lot of Latin ingredients.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The seating area is somewhat limited.”

“This is my FAVORITE Japanese restaurant! I live about 40 minutes away from Marion, but when I am wanting Japanese cuisine this is where I will always choose. The employees are all friendly, the atmosphere is calm and nice to dine in! My husband and I love the freshness and flavor of their food. It’s absolutely delicious!! 10/10 recommend!

“I go out of my way to stop at Mica town every time I drive past Marion. The fun vibe and constantly rotating selections makes it a great stop for any beer enjoyer. The space is small enough to be intimate but open enough to be welcoming. If you like beer and small town vibes you'd be hard-pressed to find a better brewery”

“My only complaint is that I really wish that the inside were more like a restaurant rather than a fast food joint, but that being said, the food NEVER disappoints! Prices have gone up just a little bit, but still reasonable. If you like homestyle, country cooking, then you will not be disappointed. I always get the salt & pepper catfish, and it is among the best catfish that I've ever had. It is ALWAYS good, very light & clean tasting, and never slimy. My family has had the chicken and they say it's good. The sides are also always good, and cooked the way your grandmas probably used to make them. There was one time when I went and they were out of saltwater catfish, and several of the sides, but that has only happened one time so maybe it was just that day. Anyway, I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!”

I've been several times to this location, and the staff is always just so kind and the service is fantastic (I usually go in the morning). The donuts are fresh and well stocked, and the restaurant itself is kept very well.”
