“As newcomers to the Wilmington area, we are always looking for great food, drink, service and atmosphere. Three10 did not disappoint. A quaint bungalow turned restaurant in the Brooklyn Arts District, with a small but inviting dining room area and a dining bar that faces the very organized and chill kitchen. The dining bar was our choice. Jill was our primary service person working alongside Claire. They were both excellent! Knowledgeable, professional and personable; not easy find, regardless of caliber of restaurant. I started with the cocktail "The One Where They Brown the Butter", which was bourbon based, had hints of sweet from the browned butter and brown sugar, although not overpowering. It was delicious and easy to drink. We started our meal with the Hushpuppies, Tuna Tartare and raw Oysters, all of which were excellent. The pepper jelly base under the hushpuppies was subtle but added so much flavor. The base of diced beets/sweet potatoes with the Tuna Tartare was seasonally fresh. The 2 NC blue crabcakes had a subtle cayenne heat, balanced with the creaminess of the celery root gribiche and made with the same base as the hushpuppies. Needless to say, we did not have room for dessert.....Overall, our first visit was excellent, not only for the great food but for the knowledgeable and friendly service. We will be back!“

“Love this place. The cocktail menu is extensive and unique, you can find something for everyone. I did not see/ask for a food menu so I cannot speak on what they have to offer. They have a gorgeous interior space that is the perfect medium between a slower, more conversational space and a higher energy, club space - perfect for people who want to have conversation/play board games (which they have PLENTY of options for) but don’t want to sit in a stuffy, quiet venue. The outdoor patio is beautiful and has plenty of seating. The staff was wonderful and helped us choose drinks that we may like. I look forward to coming back and recommending it to my friends!Parking: There is paid street parking available out front as well as a paid parking deck around the corner.“

Their liquor selection is solid with some classics, local options, and new-to-me selections. We shared cocktails and tried a couple random rums. Service is friendly and patient with those who have a hard time deciding or have questions. I personally prefer service where they aren't constantly checking in on you and this was just that. Coming from NYC I was a little surprised by the pricing - it's pretty similar - but liked it all the same and would definitely come back.“

“Olivero is a gem on 3rd st. It’s charming, interesting and delicious. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and accommodating.I don’t drink and was pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful and fabulous mocktail they have called the “Refreshing 10”. It was so tasty and fun to drink.Food-wise we loved the smoked eggplant (I could have eaten another round…tip for non-anchovy lovers, the anchovy is light and adds a great balance to the dish), the Clam Spaghetti, the Fennel Sausage Bucatini, and Braised Rabbit Radiatori (all handmade in house and you can taste the difference). For desert we had the Basque butter caramel cheesecake that disappeared in less than 90 seconds - sooo good!Overall I felt this place was fantastic and we truly enjoyed our dinner and the vibes. Highly recommend for date night, special occasions and just because you want great food.Parking: Small parking lot available next to the restaurant- not many spots so leave time to find parking. Also there is 1 handicap parking spot there.“

“I met a friend here for their Flights and Bites, which is Wednesday and Thursday night where you buy a flight and get a free bite. It's a very cool, modern and trendy place. We sat at a table near the bar which had the the coolest teal lights. Our server was nice and gave recommendations on people's favorite bites. The wine flights were 3 different types of wines from the same winery. I'm not much of a wine connoisseur so it was fun to taste and compare. They were all delicious and a good variety of flavors. For bites we had the pimento cheese which came with these flaky crackers and pickled veggies that made a perfect addition. We also got the focaccia bread w olive oil. Super soft yet crunchy. I wish there were more. The hostess did bring us more crackers when we still had more pimento cheese which was so nice. They also filled up our waters non-stop. It was a perfect place for a girls get together. And it would make a fun date night spot.“

We had the Fisherman’s Pasta and Fried Oysters dinner. For my pasta dish I told them to hold the red pepper flakes and add more Garlic. YUM!! Banter

Banter Cocktail Bar • $
19 S 2nd St, Wilmington

“I'm a newer parent and my partner and I went far too long without a date night. When we finally got a sitter and were ready for a romantic night, I asked some in-the-know friends where to get a cocktail and Banter was top of their list. It was somewhere I'd been eyeing for a while, so I was excited, and I knew the space from its prior business. When we walked in, the bar at the entry was beautiful. The options were a bit confusing - there were menus on the bar but specials on the wall so it was a lot to take in. However, I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to go wrong. We each ordered a cocktail and walked toward the back. There were several rooms to scope out and the lighting and furniture truly was romantic and cozy. The highlight for us was all the way to the back. Once we stepped outside it was like being transported to a little European cafe. We enjoyed our cocktails there and promised ourselves we'd be back soon. We went back again last week and learned that on Thursdays they have a special - if you order one of a few select cocktails, you get a surprise. Score! We each ordered one of those cocktails. Toward the back there was a chest of drawers (like 30 or so of them), each taped shut. We selected a drawer, tore off the tape, and each got a surprise. My partner got a hat and I got two moonpies - can't say we needed either of those things, but I do love a good surprise! Again, we sat out back and sipped our tasty drinks while listening to the pretty great music they were playing. It's the kind of place I'd feel comfortable going to by myself, with girl friends, or on a date. Can't wait to go back.“

“Stayed here for a second time and loved it. The room was so beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and the room is sparkling clean. The grounds are really pretty with lots of options for sitting outside I’m absolutely in love with the bathroom tile and intend to go home and redo my kitchen backsplash. Duncan at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. We opted to self park which was easy with lots of options on the street and in the parking lot across the street. Note that street parking is free after 6:30 at night and on Sundays. Some things that I would like to see improve are the air-conditioning in the rooms. Our room did not go below 70°, which is a little too hot for us for sleeping. We also didn’t like the Dram yard for dining. We like different kinds of foods, but the menu is just too unusual for us. We thought it was a safe bet for breakfast, but we were disappointed. The Crunchy lady, what could have been an artistic take on Eggs Benedict was inedible. It had a solid layer of pepper coating underneath the egg yet the bread and hollandaise were flavorless. It could have been described as blackened eggs (see photo). Although the staff is very friendly there, and the coffee is really good, we opted to go downtown for breakfast for the rest of our trip. Lastly, I don’t understand why they feel the need to have valet parking. The lot behind the hotel has more than enough parking for all of the guests and I would have preferred the convenience of self parking. Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again“

Maybe they serve food and can have under 18? We don’t know.A gentleman enthusiastically greeted us as we walked up, before I could ask anything about my nephew (who very obviously appears to be underage), and the gentleman said “Come on in folks”. We accepted his invitation only to be told almost immediately by the same person upon setting foot inside “,You know, it’s 21 and over…”Edited my original review, after Owner’s reply. “when i first heard about the ibis i knew it was going to be a place i would really enjoy. not only do i enjoy music overall but have visited gravity records several times so seeing a collaboration between them was exciting to see. my first time at the ibis was definitely the most welcoming and played a big part in me continuing to come and grab a drink & have a chat with friends. i love the atmosphere, the music, & the cocktails always hit the spot. after the first time visiting, i started, realizing that the customer service and interactions overall were not that great. i tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and assume that they were possibly having an overwhelming and busy day. i will go ahead and mention that i am very respectful when it comes to me going out to public spaces. i have always been very good with my manners and would say i'm more patient than most people in our world these days. so for me to feel the need to say anything about this should say a lot in itself. i've been to the ibis about five times at this point and ever since the first time i have not been greeted with a welcoming vibe whatsoever. i'm not expecting much from the staff but basic phrases like "hey how are y'all doing?" or "how's it going?" are never used. not even a welcoming smile or anything. not only that but it seems like they stare at you & wait for you to say something first. i will also mention that this isn't only during cocktail hours. i've been there during coffee hours and the staff during that time seem to be the same. i really love this spot. it's an awesome place to have a casual drink or just to listen to some good music but i'm writing this because not only me but friends that have been there with their own friends have also had negative experiences with the staff. i have nothing against the staff, maybe they've just never worked a customer service job & don't realize that your body language and energy does affect the people around you. i just hate that i don't feel like can fully enjoy my time here when there's so much negative tension between the customers and staff. i hope there can be a meeting where this could be addressed, but overall beautiful spot and looking forward to future events.“

“My wife and I had a late (for us) Friday evening reservation (7:30pm). Glad we left home and arrived early as parking was difficult to come by and we ended up parking at the market street garage. We arrived shortly before our reservation and a table was available shortly after. It seemed to be fairly busy, but certainly not at capacity. We ordered an app and it was quickly ready. Our server was attentive and she ended up apologizing for the wait as our main courses did take an unusually long time to arrive (almost an hour) after our appetizer. The portions were unusually large for an upscale Italian restaurant. Generally upscale Italian tends to prioritize visual appearance over quality portions. I'm happy to report you won't go home hungry here. All and all the food was pretty good. It isn't cheap and it isn't somewhere to go if you are in a hurry. Your paying $30+ for most entrees, so again the portion sizes help with the value. It was our anniversary and they gave us a nice canoli with a chocolate "Happy Anniversary".We had a gift card and there was some issues with the internet and it further delayed our getting out of there, but our sever was very kind and apologized numerous times for all the waiting, so my huntch is in general it isn't as slow moving as we experienced. It was just before 10pm we finally walked out.“

“This is a strange review. Why? The overall rating is higher than the individual segment. Why? The beef tartare! The STAR of the night. The lemon puree brightened the dish and married the flavors of the pickled fennel, black garlic aioli, capers, and smoked trout roe. The beet tartare was also a treat. The candied pecans played well with dill sour cream and apple vinaigrette the mustard and capers brought a briny flavor that leveled out the sweet notes, but the smoked goat cheese brought them all together. The oysters were interesting, with vodka sauce parmesan bread crumb. The Blackened Shrimp & Grit Grits lead creamy stone ground grits. The seared greens tasted as though they were blanched before they were seared. The ratio of celery root and sunchokes to shrimp was more on the veggies side. I ordered a side of black eyed peas and collards. The collards were cooked well. I like a more vinegary collard. There was a sweetness that looked to level off the vinegar taste. The sweet was a little much for me. The black eyed peas were fresh and bright. I like mine cooked a little longer, but you could taste the farm to table on these. The sides came out at the end of completing my entree, which was not ideal. The server seemed nervous at the beginning of the service. Warmed up towards the middle and got swamped with tables at the end of our service. My wife had the pork chop, i didn’t try it. I knew better. She didn’t offer like she usually does? The seating was tighter than my liking, but the parties closest were very considerate, we all keep or volume down.Vegetarian options: Lions mane steak & beet tarts, butternut hummus“

“I came here on vacation with my mom and mainly stayed for the views. The seating is a giant rooftop with a few sofas but mostly high-top seating. We arrived a bit before sunset to try to stake out a good seat, but that was honestly a mistake because it was so hard to see with the glare of the light and it didn't fill up that much despite being a Saturday. We decided to order some mocktails and a pizza. The mocktails were okay, but what I appreciated about the experience was our server. My mom is quite picky and really wanted a mocktail of her own creation instead of the ones on the menu, and the server was so patient and sweet about getting her what she wanted. In terms of the pizza, our pizza came out way after those around us and then came out BURNT. Our server offered us another one, which was very sweet but we had already waited so long for food we just dealt with it and ate. If I came back, I would probably just stick to drinks and the view, rather than trying to get food (especially for the price tag).“
