She’s the sweetest owner I’ve ever met and her baked goods are out of this world. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!!“

“I recently visited Mighty Bread Company in Philadelphia and it’s easily one of the most charming bakeries in the city. The place has a cozy neighborhood vibe, and you can tell right away that everything is made with real care and craftsmanship.

The sourdough bread is the star here—crispy crust, chewy inside, and full of flavor. I also tried one of their breakfast sandwiches and a pastry, and both were excellent. Everything tasted fresh, simple, and thoughtfully made.

“I was in the area and decided to pop by to try a thing or two. Not knowing anyone who had tried them before I stuck to the small, individual sized items…browned butter chocolate chip cookies, morning croissant and some pizza dough. It all comes frozen but I had other places to go so some started defrosting in the car. Here’s my review of each. Cookies - I don’t like ANY chocolate chip cookie that doesn’t have nuts in them. I usually wouldn’t even buy them, I decided to try these because of the browned butter. I had one in the car before I got home and they were AMAZING! I shocked myself at how much I enjoyed them. They were soft without being chewy, a feature I hate in cookies personally, and had nice crispy edges, even after defrosting! The taste, texture and everything about these defied all that I thought was possible with a gf cookie! 10 out of 10 Pizza dough - since it was defrosted by the time I got him I decided to make a couple mini pizzas. I used half the dough, I bag will easily make 4-5 personal sized pizzas. I thought I had rolled it too thin as it started to break apart so I made it a little thicker. It rises while cooking so when I do the rest, I’ll leave it thinner for sure. Because other gf pizzas seem to have such difficulty cooking in the city I was concerned when I saw these rising. But they cooked up beautifully! It was soooo nice having gf pizzas seem that had the taste and texture of traditional crust. I appreciate suppliers for having the option available, and some are better than others…but the Flakely dough is the standard now! I’ll never buy another gf pizza, whether it be a restaurant or a market. 10 out of 10 Morning croissant - I put this right in the freezer so I haven’t tasted it yet. But it looks phenomenal! They described it as a cross between a cinnamon roll and a croissant. You can’t go wrong with that combo as a general thing but given how the cookie and pizza dough has tasted, I have no doubt this will be terrific as well! Run, don’t walk, over to their shop and let’s make sure they’re around for the long haul. Just beware, they might spoil you against some of your existing faves!“

“I have never been to the storefront, but I have gotten various things from them several times at the East Falls and Fairmount farmers markets. Their cheesecake bars are absolutely the best bar of any kind I've ever had, I can't even describe them properly to do them justice, but it's insane to me that so few reviewers mentioned them (must be because their sandwiches are THAT good--I will have to go to the shop to try one apparently!). Their focaccia bread is also the fluffiest, spongiest, freshest bread I've tasted, and can easily be eaten plain by itself. Their chocolate cake is perfect--rich chocolate flavor and not too sweet. “Did an online order for a birthday cake and cupcakes. Probably should have called to confirm but just trusted it would work out. Friends picked up the cakes and brought them into the party. Our guests mistakenly thought the friends that brought the cakes had baked them. These poor friends were inundated for the rest of the party with demands to know their recipes and their baking secrets. The cakes were apparently SO GOOD. I can’t attest because once word spread, the cakes were swooped up like toilet paper in 2020. Can’t wait to actually try them on our next party when I plan better and hold back a secret cake stash.“

“I've been buying from Isgros since 1975. Anyone who writes a bad review of this beloved bakery is likely to think the Grand Canyon is merely a hole in the ground. Don't believe any of their drivel. Maybe.....maybe!....they caught a bad batch of goods....but its highly unlikely. Everything sells out! How can stuff be stale? Impossible!! Everything they produce is simply sensational.
