“Hop sing is indescribable. An elegant and sophisticated bar, for cocktails after dinner in the heart of Chinatown. As long as you follow two simple rules that are covered before you enter the establishment, you will have a wonderful time. The place is sophisticated and dim light, creating an intimate environment. The drinks go from simple to creative, and are executed perfectly. I had a whiskey and honeydew cocktail and my partner had a very spicy gin cocktail that had you wishing for more. We can't wait to come back on either a casual night out, or to celebrate a special occasion. Our server Jonathan was polite, and able to explain everything clearly and well. We can't wait to come back thank you for having us!“
“I've been here a few times, it's a fun place to bring people because of the whole speakeasy vibe. They don't take reservations so it's hit or miss if you can actually get in. Drinks are hit or miss for me too. Over time I've done drinks from the menu and the bartenders choice. I know it sounds silly but I really dislike the ice they use! It's like ice chips which cheapens the drinks, which seems to go against the suave swanky vibe. I got the pickle mule this time though and really liked it.“
“This is one of those humble establishments you stumble across that rivals a dining experience double or even triple the cost. From top to bottom, beginning to end, every single item was exceptional. I had the burger and fries + the key lime pie dessert along with 2 cocktails. A relatively straightforward order, but a very memorable experience. Some of the flavors were otherworldly, especially in the mezcal and tequila cocktails. There is also something special and cinematic about the ambiance. Somebody really put a lot of thought and care into this place and whoever it is, I salute you.“
“The menu was so varied--so many choices of vegan food (not just the fake meat variety). We enjoyed the brussels sprouts, beet salad, focaccia, flatbread--all outstanding. We didn't care so much for one pasta dish with sweet potato--pasta a bit dry and chewy and seasoning a bit bland. It was a Saturday evening so quite full and service was uneven probably because of that. The background music was quite loud, particularly the bass line. I could hear to talk but I found the music distracting me from enjoying the food. But I think younger people have a different relationship to monotonous base lines and find it makes the place lively. I was delighted to find another vegan restaurant, just disappointed that the ambience wasn't good for me.“
“I couldn't speak more highly of Inde Blue. I’ve been a patron of this restaurant for many years at all of their locations and was so excited when they came back to NJ. They have remained consistent in the quality of their food options. My husband and I will continue to frequent them for many years to come.“
“We stopped for drinks at the Tattooed Mom last Friday night. BFF and I had a very delicious adult capri sun with boba called the Mandolorian Punch. Spousal Unit tried the Cosmo Cloud, which had cotton candy on top, and I think Man Friend had the Lemon Bourbon Smash. All of the drinks were delicious! The staff was friendly. The bar was full of stickers, graffiti, and art; there was so many cool things to look at. There was an old bumper car as a photo opp and I don't know why we didn't take a picture with it. Next time! Thank you :)“
“Such a fun quaint cocktail bar! I appreciated the bouncer outside who checked out ideas actually walked us to the bar and found stools for my group of 3. The bartenders were attentive and very conversational. Great drinks, highly recommended the French 75 and the drink with raspberry and gin. Good vibe all around!“
“Food was fresh and fantastic. It's considered new American food and I think the menu might rotate seasonally. It's recommended that you get 2 or 3 small plates per person plus an entree.Probably not kid friendly, the place is on the smaller side and not sure if they have high chairs.“
“waiter: David F: Water was always full, gave ample suggestions, couldn’t have asked for a better server. Started off with the meatballs, they were very well done with cheese oozing out the middle. Very well done meatballs 9.3, the chicken Spiedini was well cooked, a little small but that’s expected, the salsa verde is to die for. The focaccia is crazy good, like absolutely amazing, it’s perfect for two, aswell the honey butter delivered a sweet and savoury addition to the salty fresh focaccia 9.8. The Agnolotti was not my favourite, I am not a mushrooms person so this missed with me, however if you like mushrooms this is a great pasta to try 6.8. Finished off the night with the Mozzarella Frito, they were really well paired with the marinara, I wish they were cooked through the middle a bit more as a couple bites were oozing Mozzarella 8.4. Overall fantastic meal anyone should experience in Philadelphia.“
“My in-laws were in the town, and we booked a table for 4. Even though they were a little late to the reservation, the restaurant made no problem. (They were not happy with it for sure, but they did not make us feel uncomfortable about it. So do not be late still)Fantastic food and a delicious menu. Everything is authentic Italian style cooked. We love it!Decoration needs to be updated but gives old italian vibe, no complaint. Our favorite thing was how our server, Micheal, improved our night. He was quick, careful, professional, and very friendly. He checked on us without needing him—excellent, outstanding professionalism. We love every second of it. We will be back! Special thanks to Micheal.“
“Really cool bar to drink local spirits. The bartenders were super nice and let us try a couple different things we were interested in. Cocktails were really good. I would definitely go back. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was super chill but I can imagine that it gets really noisy as soon as it fills up. Also you can bring your own food, since they don’t have a kitchen, so that’s really cool!“
“We had a delicious meal here! Highlights were focaccia with whipped ricotta, the squash pasta (forget the fancy namebut it’s the interesting shaped one below), and the chocolate mousse cake. Service was great too! We were originally slotted to have an outdoor table but they were able to squeeze us indoors. Would definitely come back.“
“Indulging in the culinary delights of this establishment was a remarkable experience, with each dish not only delivering unparalleled flavors but also showcasing exquisite and artful plating. The restaurant’s ambiance is a testament to tasteful decoration, creating a captivating environment that enhances the overall dining experience. Moreover, the service provided surpassed expectations, contributing significantly to the overall satisfaction. The staff’s attentiveness and professionalism added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal, making it a truly memorable culinary journey. From the moment I stepped in, the delightful fusion of remarkable food presentation and impeccable service made this dining experience stand out, leaving me eager to revisit and savor more of the culinary delights this establishment has to offer.“
“Best BBQ pork tacos you'll ever experience. Cheesesteak egg rolls flavorful, very filling, and with the same high quality steak you'd expect from any respected cheesesteak spot in the city. Again, the tacos literally explode with flavor. You get these two items you can't go wrong.“
“Redcrest Kitchen is the Cafe / Diner on 6th St. just a one block south of Philadelphia's famous South St.; In other words, it's right where all of the action is. On this rare rather warm Saturday (short sleeve shirt in Philadelphia in Mid-March-really?) we got a outdoor table for our brunch and basked in the sun. My wife shared a hotdog and Caesar salad with my sons girlfriend, my son also had a Caesar with an order of fries and I had their very good; 2 scrambled eggs A wedge of excellent hash browns Two breakfast sausages And some whole grain toast To say we were all "Happy Campers" with this first rate meal combined with accomplished service would be an understatement. Along with a not too expensive bill, made this trip to the Redcrest Kitchen an outstanding experience.“
“The atmosphere, servers, bartenders, drinks and food are always so great! Their happy hour menu is fantastic! Makes my walk home from work so much easier when I know I have Jerry's on the way home for a pitstop! The wings are fantastic and the meatballs are amazing!“
“Good King is an awesome neighborhood restaurant. I know; I'm from the area, and it is a go-to for me. Folks working there are downright nice + pleasant, atmosphere is friendly + buzzy, and the food will, by itself, make you come back. Nice place; great, hard working folks; one of the privileges of living in a civilized city.“
“Really great, inventive haute cuisine real Mexican; well executed thoughtfully prepared. Might have slipped a bit since my initial visit, but that could just be me being super impressed first go-around. Quite noisy on the weekends, be prepared to wait for your cocktails.“
“We absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting yet informal. The staff was friendly and fun.The cheese plate dessert is a symphony of flavors. The salad had me practically licking my plate, the crunch of brown rice and the cheese and dressing were delicious. We also enjoyed the eggplant which is both spicy and sweet and the shrimp dish. Thank you to the staff for making a rainy one night trip to Philadelphia a wonderful memory.“
“I had a good time, the food was good especially the duck, which was really delicious. We got also the gnocchi and the pork appetizer both were really good. The drinks were delicious. The only thing I’d say is it is really a bar atmosphere in the sense that the music is very loud (good playlist though), so it is kind of weird to eat this good food in a loud bar. But maybe it’s just personal preference.“
“Came here for brunch this last weekend. What a lovely experience! Mind you I don't really approve of brunch - half the stuff you can make at home for 3/4s the price. But this place was great! Staff were so nice, patient and helpful. Small but good drink menu with delicious non alcoholic options as well. We had the biscuits and apricot jam and goat cheese fritters as appetizers. Fritters weren't overly salty which I was worried about. Nicely fried with a refreshing apple jam. Biscuits were excellent - nice and flaky. I had the biscuits with mushrooms eggs and potatoes. Eggs were cooked well but still had a bit of runniness to them. The mushrooms were delicious and it all came with this cilantro dressing. Potatoes were also excellent with some peppers thrown in for good measure. It was so hard deciding what to get because honestly everything, especially the savory dishes, looked fantastic. Prices were reasonable, great experience and even though it was brunch and close to their breaking time before dinner, we didn't feel rushed out at all. Highly recommend them!“
“If you're looking for a great corner bar with awesome bartenders this is your spot. They know beer and have the best circulating on tap. They have tvs for the sports games and a pool table, and if you bring your own darts, you can play darts.“
“really enjoyed our dinner. nice relaxing atmosphere. great cocktails....esp their spin on mojito and old fashioned. spring rolls very good. oyster dish outstanding as is Obama bowl, least favorite was shrimp dish with mussels...,dark sauce... very good not great.“
“The BEST aguachile in Philly hands down!!! (I always get the same thing, aguachile Verde mix to with extra seafood) Actually, they have the best of everything I've tried there so far. That includes the Birria Consomme, the guacamole, the ceviche, the albondigas, and the crab tostados. I'll add pics the next time I go. I HIGHLY recommend this place, you won't be disappointed! Plus the staff is super friendly.“
“My boyfriend brought me here last night. He had been here once before for a business meeting and thought I’d like it a lot! And I did! Everyone was super nice and the food was delicious! The servers ask everyone if they have an allergies or dietary restrictions. Neither of us have any, but I’ve never heard servers anywhere ask about that which I thought was very cool and thoughtful. We’ll be back!“
“Excellent service from the bartender Gallo. Gallo gave me great food and drink recommendations. I'm excited to return and try other dishes and drinks he recommended. The manager as well she shared many things about Peru with me. It felt like going to a friend's home for a meal.“
“Had drinks and some snacks here the last 2 days, and it’s a fantastic place. The tempura green beans were perfectly fried and come with a yummy hot honey drizzle. I had Max as a bartender; he gave great service and we had a nice conversation. Overall really pleasant experience and a nice establishment. Come here if you find yourself by south st.“
“A little fancy for me, but the room is beautiful, it reminds me a bar that would be on a spaceship, I don't why! The cocktails are intricate, and tasty, but u can also have a small but decent beer list. Was there on a Sat, and they had a DJ spinning.Parking: Super busy location. It is only two blocks from the Girard El stop if u take public transportation.“
“Stopped in for their Thursday 5-8pm happy hour, stayed for the go-go dancer and the all-vinyl DJ! This place truly is special, frozen in time. The historic venue/bar has so much charm and life in it still. DJ Hardbargain and dancer Butterfly Jones made the space so cozy and vibey! 10/10 recommend for a drink out with friends and a sweet spot to dance.“
“My friend and I made reservations for drinks on Saturday night (recommend making a reservation via Resy). We were seated upstairs, and it was busy, but not overly busy where you couldn't hear each other speak. We sat at the bar and had the loveliest bartender. The ambiance was amazing, and so were the drinks. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Philly next!“
“We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. The nachos are out of this world! Try the spicy margarita, it was delicious. We got a pitcher of regular margaritas and they were only ok, but staff was nice, the food was good and the atmosphere was great.“
“Came here for a girls-night-out/catch up with a good friend, since we wanted to "treat ourselves" to fancy, upscale, creative cocktails (rather than our usual dive bar City wide) - and this place did NOT disappoint. I got the gold dust woman (sage gin - pretty yummy, but not too strong. Simple and elegant.) and the Bela Lugosi's Dead (AMAZING! Gin, frothed egg white, and FALL SPICE!!). My friend got the Negroni, which was impeccably strong, if you're into that sort of thing (wasn't really for us). The bartenders were friendly & fun, and after 930pm the bar cleared out enough that we finally got a seat. Be warned- it's expensive at 12$/cocktail, but the ingredients and care put into their creations make it worth it.“
“I will warn that it is very much pizza shop vibe as far as aesthetics.. but I must say I have heard nothing but absolutely raving reviews about their food and I was not disappointed! The pizza crust was out of this world with options you don’t see everywhere, like cacio e pepe, and their cocktails are fun and delicious! Also 48263929 bonus points for bringing a cake out with a candle when all I did was click “Birthday” on Resy. I have NEVER had a restaurant do this! Also music was trendy. 10/10 would recommend. Come during the week when it’s slow for optimal comfort! We will be back ?“
“Delish food - n of 3 times been so far and every time has been on point. Prices are definitely respectable (except $4 for extra pico) and the servers have always treated us nicely. Definitely recommend for Cantina food in the middle of Philly.“
“Great vibes, stellar menu, unbelievable service. We've been here a few times now, and every time it has blown us away. This time, we were helped by Alyssa, who provided attentive and excellent service throughout the night! The drinks were phenomenal (the cocktails rotate, so you gotta try them all!) And the food was bangin'. If you're hesitant to try out this cozy little spot, don't be! You won't be disappointed.“
“I had the pleasure of dining at Sor Ynez last night, and it's safe to say that this Mexican gem in Fishtown has left an indelible mark on my taste buds. From the moment you step through the door, you are enveloped in an inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Like really, who has a free parking lot in Fishtown, amazing! One of the standout features of Sor Ynez is its commitment to catering to diverse palates, including those with dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to discover a plethora of options that went beyond the typical cheese and bean combinations. The menu boasts an array of innovative and mouthwatering vegetarian and vegan choices, proving that plant-based dining can be just as indulgent and satisfying. The flavors at Sor Ynez are nothing short of spectacular. I wholeheartedly recommend Sor Ynez to anyone seeking an authentic Mexican culinary adventure.“
“Tucked away within Downtown Manayunk is the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) Pop-up Garden. There was a Dried Flower Wreath making class that I attended and when I arrived, everything was set up nicely. There are QR Codes on the tables through Toast Take out system. I ordered a drink while I waited for the event to take place. After 10 minutes I ordered fried cheese curd with cherry pepper aioli. This code just places everything on a tab. So cool! The event took place for 1.5 hours and at the end it was a fun night. The environment is so cool with a repurposed warehouse and a beautiful beer garden with lovely greenery everywhere. It's my thing!!After the event I ordered the Jamestown burger with cheese and bacon and their fun Sidewinder fries. Nom nom. That was a delicious, juicy burger with a fresh potato roll. The Negroni and The High Tide, with elijah craig bourbon, green tea syrup, fever tree lemon tonic. Make sure you get that.“
“We are visiting from san diego california. Bookers is just a few blocks down from our airbnb. We decided to take a stroll and it ended up at bookers. Absolutely amazing food, The ambiance was perfect. The service was great and the food simply delicious.“
“I used to come here 30 some years ago when it was Sonoma. It has been several other restaurants through the years but this is the best by far. There are 2 bars. One on the first floor that has retractable windows to open up to the outside. Then there is my favorite bar upstairs. Light, airy, nicely painted walls with olive leaves and glass ceiling. There is a happy hour Monday to Friday, 4 to 6pm. All their signature crafted cocktails are $7 and they are delicious. Our bartender, Jeff, was welcoming and very knowledgeable about his craft. Love that they use a lot of local products. There are other drink options (see my menu photo below) and fun food items. We ordered 2 pizzas (shrimp and artichoke and the pepperoni). Both were fabulous.I will be returning again for their in house made pasta and I can't wait.Parking: People often think that parking is difficult in manayunk but there are plenty of options in the nearby lots if you can't get one on the street.“
“Food was great especially their empanadas. The service wasn’t bad but it was nothing to brag on. The place was a bit too crowded for me. I don’t mean crowded as in a lot of people but just too small. The tables are to close. The bar is directly in front of the door. Also if you’re one of those bathroom photo people, forget about it. Not worth the energy to find your good side.“
“Stopped here to watch the Eagles vs. Cowboys game. The downstairs area was packed, but there was available seating upstairs. The atmosphere was great, the food was good, & the customer service was on point. Great spot to hang out & watch the games or just kick it with friends.“
“Nestled in the vibrant streets of Philadelphia, Charlie Was A Sinner. is a haven for those seeking a culinary experience that transcends expectations. With its inviting ambiance and innovative plant-based cuisine, this restaurant captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression.Let's dive into the star of the show: the food. Each dish at Charlie Was A Sinner. is a work of art, meticulously crafted to delight even the most discerning palate. From the first bite to the last, every flavor sings in perfect harmony, showcasing the creativity and skill of the culinary team. However, I must address a notable aspect of our dining experience—the service. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, there were some shortcomings that impacted the overall enjoyment of our meal. In particular, our server seemed lacking in knowledge of the menu, unable to provide accurate information about certain dishes' ingredients. This became especially problematic when attempting to accommodate dietary restrictions at our table. Rather than consulting the chef or kitchen staff for clarification, our server seemed uncertain and unable to provide the necessary assistance.Despite this hiccup, I must commend the kitchen for their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our dietary needs once the issue was brought to their attention. Their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience did not go unnoticed and ultimately salvaged what could have been a disappointing situation. In conclusion, while Charlie Was A Sinner. excels in its culinary offerings, there is room for improvement in the realm of service, particularly in staff knowledge and communication. Nonetheless, I remain impressed by the restaurant's commitment to delivering exceptional plant-based cuisine and look forward to returning for another memorable dining experience.“
“Really fun place for dinner. I enjoyed sitting in the greenhouse, which was heated and comfortable even with the chilly evening. We had the chef's special beef tenderloin which was very nicely prepared. On the side we had a beet salad which was quite nice and battered shishito peppers which were extremely tasty. Overall a great spontaneous choice, and I'd be excited to come back again.Vegetarian options: Much of the menu is vegetarianDietary restrictions: Much of the menu is gluten free or could be prepared gluten free.“
“Very happy with our dinner visit! Food was very yummy, especially the chicken karagee ?!! The ambiance was very nice too — we were particularly please that the music wasn’t super loud (to the point where we need to scream to talk to each other)! Service was great as well! Will definitely come back ?!“
“A serious gem on spring garden. The decor is warm and clean and the staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. The owners can be seen walking around and touching tables to ensure excellent service. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the fried shrimp was perfectly crispy while retaining moisture and the freezer martini is crisp, cold and boozy. Do not sleep on this place!!! My friends and I can't wait to go again.“
“The bar tenders were all awesome. This was my first time back to Philly since college and we ended up staying at an AirBnB right above this place. It was an awesome spot to end the night, have a drink, and chat with the staff. Not sure when I’ll be back in the city, but will be stopping here when I am.“
“Love the atmosphere here, it's lovely Great for coffee or tea Love getting a glass of wine or cocktail with friends in the PM Breakfast offerings need to be more extensive Dinner menu changed and not for the better Friend and I were just there and enjoyed the atmosphere and wine/cocktail but there was absolutely nothing we wanted to eat for dinner on the menu“
“Amazing food and polite staff, and a really lively atmosphere. I had a great hangover chicken and waffles (which was personally enjoyably much sweeter than usual at other restaurants, but you do get self serve syrup). However, I think choosing this dish over others here would be doing the restaurant a disservice. It was obvious that with only like three sweet dishes, you should just get their actual food.I’ll be back if I’m in town.“
“The staff and owner are nice folks. Prices are fair and reasonable in this current economy. Food was solid, the French Onion Soup Dumplings were solid. Steak was solid. The cocktails were generally not my style, I prefer mezcals/bourbons/whiskey bases, but the flavor profile was solid; the Drunk Text was the winner. It’s a nice addition to the neighborhood. I’ll be interested to see how they grow in the near future. It would be nice to see a Point Breeze cocktail bar crawl between Dock Street, El Mezcal, Insatiable, Madira and other spots … the local spots could benefit from something like a city-wide competition (shot + beer + app). I would like to see more collaboration between our neighborhood’s restaurants“
“This is the second time I have eaten here with my family. Our waiter this time was Jen, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely helpful as we had a small child with our party and she helped us so much with trying to keep a 2 year old happy. Jen was an absolute gem!The food was absolutely delicious and honestly seems to get better every time we go. The steaks were tender, the French onion soup was savory and delicious, and the appetizers were too good that we almost missed out on the main course cause we ate so much.100% coming back again and again. The food is great. The staff is warm and welcoming and makes you feel like family.Kid-friendliness: Our waiter was so kind and sweet with my niece who had been quite fussy missing her nap. She gave us little cups and some extra lemon which my niece loved. One of the busboys was also extremely helpful when my niece spilled an entire cup of water everywhere. He was quick and super helpful with bringing some towels over, and helping us clean up. The whole staff are sweet as can be. The whole team seem to have a great vibe.“
