“I was really craving pho and after some Yelp/Google Review searching, I found Pho Express. I like that they have a build your own pho option, since my favorite meats aren't usually in the same dish. I got the beef brisket, beef tendon, and beef balls. Absolute, hands down, my favorite three meats.

The pho arrived still hot via Doordash and honestly it really hit the spot. They give you so much broth too, I had enough for noods again the next day.“

“If you’re in the Bronx and love Vietnamese food, you are in for a treat. This place is easily one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in New York. The pho is so flavorful and filling especially with the beef and pickled vegetables. The rice and pork with fresh vegetables is so good. The rice goes so well with the crunchy vegetables and the grilled pork chop. Overall, this place is so good.“

“Em Vietnamese Bistro has been on my list for a while, so I finally got to check it out! At first, the interior looks like you are walking into an office, not a restaurant; I had to do a double-take to make sure I walked in the correct door. I made a reservation for 6:30pm on a Friday, but the restaurant wasn't full at any point. Since the space is small, you are seated close to other people at peak dining hours.

My friend and I both got the Bun Thit Nuong ($17) and we shared a Cha Gio ($11). The spring rolls left a lot to be desired, both presentation-wise and taste-wise. For presentation, the rolls would benefit from a smaller plate with a more curated selection of vegetables. The huge romaine inundates the dish, and we didn't end up eating it, so it just seems like a waste. Flavor-wise, the rolls were on the plain side, which do not justify the price. After that appetizer, I was pleasantly surprised by the entree. The pork was cooked and flavored well, and I gorged myself. Everything tasted fresh and refreshing! I also think for the portion size and the area, the price is worth it.

Service was good in the sense that they did not rush us, but we had to ask for everything, from getting someone to take our order to asking for the check. The Bun Thit Nuong was the highlight, and I would eat it again if I was in the area!“

“After reading the reviews, decided to try the lemon grass pork banh mi, lemon grass pork bun, nem and summer rolls. The pork was so flavorful and tender and there was lots of it in the sandwich and bun. Our appetizers were also delicious, 4 in each order. And yes, the bread was soft BUT we loved it. The pickled vegetables were on point and the banh mi was loaded with yummy cilantro. Prices were also reasonable. Only thing that we felt was missing: pickled daikon radish. Definitely worth a return visit!“

“I ordered a banh mi cha lua (Vietnamese ham). It was $10.50, which isn’t bad considering how much meat they filled the banh mi with. I arrived around the time they opened and it was a bit busy already. It was quick to order and pay, but the wait to receive the actual banh mi was about 15 mins so keep that in mind if you come during a busy lunch rush.“

I had such a wonderful experience at Sao Mai in Manhattan. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and authentic. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, beautifully prepared, and full of the wonderful flavors that make Vietnamese cuisine so special.

They do not use soy sauce and many peanuts for those with allergies. Compared to other vietnamese places they are very accommodating to many diets, but at baseline their menu is safe. “Went on a weekend before they opened maybe 30 minutes before and was able to get a seat in the first seating at the counter. The food was really delicious and I understand the hype. I really like the lychee slushy. The oysters they had were my favorite and I really enjoyed the rolls and sandwich. They do have the option to order online which is great because I passed by during the week and line was still long.“

“This place is cozy and makes for a nice place to go out with friends, dates or even alone! I went in by myself and tried their banh mi, which despite not being like what you would find in a typical Vietnamese spot, was super tasty and I highly recommend it. Use my photo as evidence of how good it is, I ate half of it before I finally took a photo, haha. The bread itself was soft, it tasted fresh, and the filling wasn't overly spicy or bland, it was just right. The baked goods looked tempting and I might have to try them next time.

“I got the OG Pho. It was fine. The flavor was somewhat savory sweet but ultimately just fine. Pork belly bao was similarly savory and satisfying. The hoisin sauce definitely helped.

The chicken is tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and I really like how a squeeze of lime lifts the broth and makes it taste even brighter and fresher. The portions are generous, the service is consistently good, and the restaurant is always clean, well-kept, and nicely decorated. I often come here for lunch with my coworkers, and it has become one of those reliable spots we keep returning to. “Decent fast casual vietnamese spot. Is it super authentic? Not really. But its good for what it is and being the only vietnamese spot in the area. I've gotten take out a couple times and the banh mi's bread were quite soft and a bit soggy so I had to throw it back in the air fryer. And the pho were very small portions with 4 pieces of thin meat. Other than that, they're quick and friendly with their service.“
