“Awesome sushi spot tucked away. Gives a lasting impression. Inside appears it’d
make for a very pleasant visit. No matter the time of day. Does not disappoint. Decent prices. You won’t be spending $20+ minimum for a bite of decent food. It’s family owned. I’m almost afraid if they get more busy. They’ll start knowing their worth . Ha ha. Almost. I’ve ordered for pick up about 4 maybe 5 times by now. Local gem.“

“I was recommended this place by a friend and it did not disappoint. The price for quality is certainly a great deal.
All of the fish tasted extremely fresh. Each course was unique and had its own spin. Our chef did an excellent job. The waitresses were also very attentive and thorough.
My one critique is that if you are sitting in the seats closer to the door, the music can be very loud. It was difficult to understand what our chef was saying most of the time.
Nonetheless, I certainly recommend coming here for a great prices Omakase in NYC.“

“Hole in the wall sushi spot. It’s a small and cozy spot in the LES. The size allows you to enjoy the food and chefs on a personal level. I also genuinely have not had fresher fish than here, every piece was mind blowing, the fact that it’s only $68 for 12 pieces! I’m so impressed and I truly can’t recommend it enough. Better than any Michelin I’ve ever had! Also if you love uni like I do, it’s a must.“

“Absolutely phenomenal. Where is their star? It was nothing short of a true Michelin experience! The quality of the fish was out of this world, flown in fresh from Japan, and every bite reflected that care and precision. The team crafted an unforgettable dining experience for every single guest, with flawless service and artistry at an incredible price point. Anyone in NYC I can’t recommend this place enough“

“First off, let me tell you this service was EVERYTHING. They were so kind to still serve us with 100% 20 minutes till closing. Food was immaculate and the chef was the kindest person. Second time was better than the first. Chef Kevin’s “Chef Special” was spectacular. Our server Nara was just the sweetest thank you for the best experience ever. We will be back and we definitely will recommend to friends and family here and in texas“

“Fuku Omakase was a decent experience overall. The courses were well-executed, the fish was fresh, and everything was generally good. However, a few details held the meal back from being truly memorable.
One issue we had was the rice. It was overcooked and too soft, which affected the texture and balance of the sushi. Additionally, the atmosphere was not as refined as expected. The background music was TOO loud, which seemed to encourage customers to raise their voices just to be heard. It made the space feel more chaotic than relaxing.
Fuku has potential, but a few adjustments—especially to the rice and the ambiance—would make a big difference.“

“Our first time at Zest. We enjoyed the sushi and other items on their happy hour menu. The tapas style sizes were a bargain and we got to try a lot of items for only $6. The sushi was fresh and innovative. Everything we tried was super tasty and yummy. We especially enjoyed the “Salmon Dream” and the salmon skin salad. Our kids liked the pork shumai and the chicken fried rice. Not very Japanese but still super yummy. The Sapporo beers were $6 for HH and a bargain. We came on the weekend and Broome street is super lively and becomes a pedestrian only street which makes it even more accessible. We want to come back soon to try the items on their happy hour menu which we missed since we left super full and happy. Leave room for mochi ice cream for dessert.“

“We were out walking and I wanted a quick snack, so I got the salmon salad. It was perfect for a quick pick me up and not too heavy, tasted fresh, and the quality felt decent for the price (an expensive snack).
Service was brisk but we only ordered takeout so we didn’t see much of it“

“This is hands-down our favorite sushi place! It’s an intimate, family-run gem where you can truly feel the love and care that goes into everything—from the food to the service. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed.
Our kids love coming here too. The friendly staff always makes them feel special, and the free ice cream at the end is such a sweet treat they look forward to every time.
We’re so grateful to have a place like this in the neighborhood. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great sushi in a cozy, family-friendly setting!“

“I read a lot of wonderful reviews about this place, but may be it hasn’t quite disappointed but at the same time I couldn’t find myself raving about it.
It is okay for what is is, although it could really have been great if it tried harder, both with food volume and taste.“

“My absolute favorite place in New York. Right across the Madison Square Park, this place has rhe most sumptuous food.
The Bone marrow, fried rice, edamame, sushi, the chops and the steak were outstanding.
The server Laveena was also really helpful.
The sushi in particular was superb. Especially the crispy rice one.
We went here about thrice. Totally worth it.“

“We highly recommend ICCA Sushi, always fresh, delicious and worth every cent. This is a BYOB restaurant if you’re interested in eating in. I usually pick up. In the past during COVID they use to deliver. I am not sure if they do now. Absolutely, incredible! You can go for lunch and dinner if you want!“

“We found this restaurant by accident, but I can see us making regular visits any time we come to NYC. Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and a great staff. My poke bowl was incredible, and my husband got the sushi bento box. We’ll be getting the large saki during our next visit. We ate our food too quickly before it occurred to me to take a photo!“

“Dining at Mori in New York was a truly memorable experience and easily one of the most refined omakase evenings I’ve had. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place takes its craft seriously — the atmosphere is calm, elegant, and perfectly set up for an intimate dinner where the focus is entirely on the food.
The omakase menu was beautifully curated. Each course arrived with a balance of creativity and tradition. One of the first dishes, the kumamoto oyster dressed with a delicate sauce, was an immediate highlight — fresh, briny, and with just the right touch of citrus. The sashimi plate was equally impressive, featuring tuna belly, sea bass, and shrimp that practically melted in the mouth. Presentation here is an art form; every dish looked like it belonged in a gallery before you even picked up your chopsticks.
The nigiri selection was outstanding. I especially loved the toro and the Hokkaido scallop with yuzu kosho — flavors that were clean yet full of depth. The hand rolls were another highlight; the crab with truffle aioli and potato crisps was both playful and decadent, while the uni with Kaluga caviar felt luxurious without being overwhelming.
Service was impeccable. The chefs explained the courses with passion and precision, and the pacing of the meal was spot on — unhurried, but never dragging. Dessert, a caramel pumpkin crème with ginger crumble, was a light and elegant way to finish.
Mori is not just dinner; it’s a complete dining journey. Yes, it’s pricey, but for the quality and artistry, it’s absolutely worth it. I’ll be returning whenever I’m in New York.“

“Japanese hospitality at its best. With only 12 seating areas this beautiful restaurant can make you feel welcomed and extremely well taken care of. We were lucky to have chef Tetsu Yagi back from Kyoto and ready to impress us with a beautiful feast. Definitely dive into the Omakase experience and trust your culinary journey to chef Yagi. Thank you for a wonderful night and amazing food experience and memorable food bites.“

“We just celebrated a special occasion at Sushi By Sea and it was outstanding. They made planning the event easy (even recommending a mixologist, drivers and someone who could make a cake). The service was incredibly attentive without being in any way intrusive. But the food and the Chef's presentation and description were the real stars of the show. The evening completely met and even exceeded our expectations and did not disappoint in any way. We will absolutely be back.“

“Nestled discreetly in an unassuming pizza shop on the Lower East Side, this avant-garde sushi restaurant is a culinary gem that defies expectation. Entering through the old pizza shop feels like stepping into a secret world. It’s a brilliant juxtaposition that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The omakase came with plenty of courses (I lost track), with a heavy focus on presentation. The alcohol pairing, while on the pricier side, is worth it.
Service was impeccable, with attentive staff who are clearly passionate about their offerings. They were knowledgeable about the menu and pairings.
For those willing to splurge, it's a dining experience that’s as memorable as it is delicious.“

“Ordered the 3 rolls box and while the quality of the fish did taste good and fresh, the avocado to fish ratio was a little heavier than I expected/was used too. The eel & avocado roll was mostly an avocado roll with eel sauce and barely has any fish in it. If I lived here I would maybe give it another chance? But also know there’s better places that wouldn’t let me down!“

“This is currently our favorite omikase restaurant. The food is always excellent and we appreciate the fixed seating times so it makes it easier to plan an evening.
But please - if you come here, in order to fully enjoy the subtle flavors of the sushi, don’t wear perfume or cologne. Our last two experiences here were somewhat marred by adjacent guests’ overwhelming fragrances. All of the senses should be focused on enjoying this amazing food, and having ones sense of smell assaulted by perfumes distracts from the experience of both the wearer and the people around them. Thanks.
