“Amazing food! My husband and I stopped by for Friday night dinner. We tried the fried calamari, Pad Kana Moo Grob (Sautéed crispy pork belly with chinese broccoli in garlic sauce.), Pork Chops Vegetable Garlic Sauce, crab fried rice and for dessert, the mango coconut sticky rice. “I went with a group of friends for my birthday last night. It was AMAZING. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. The place itself was so clean and cute, really cool vibe. The Apps were great, Hush Puppies and Fried Calamari, yum. I did a make-your-own Seafood Boil. OH MY GOD. The New Zealand Mussels, King Crab and Dungeness Crab was out of this world in the Cajun Butter Sauce. I HIGHLY recommend this spot and will be going back.“

“​My husband and I stopped in randomly on a Thursday night and were blown away from start to finish. We were seated promptly, and the whole evening—from the ambiance to the service to the food—was truly excellent. There was even live music playing in the background; while I couldn't see the entire band, the performer on the piano and vocals set a fantastic mood.

​We started with the Tuna Tartare and the Lobster Roll, both of which were delicious. The complimentary bread service was fantastic as well (though I'm glad we didn't ask for seconds because the main course was enough!). For dinner, we shared the 18 oz USDA Prime Bone-In New York Strip and a side of Lobster Mashed Potatoes. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, but the lobster mashed potatoes completely stole the show—they were loaded with massive chunks of claw meat and ended up being my absolute favorite part of the night.
​The hospitality was top-tier. The manager, Javier, stopped by our table to check on us, and multiple servers made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening.

“The trout is the best in the area. The servers can be unprofessional and rude. When asked to tie back their hair, the request was refused. A nonsense response of not required was insulting. As an experienced service trainer, the hair in question should have been restraining. Health department requirements override a servers vain attitude.“

My go to is the fried flounder sandwich, $5 today, sometimes $6 cash for two huge pieces depending upon market price. They give you the tarter and lemon and tons of other condiments and spices to put on yourself, just how you like it, before they neatly wrap it up and bag it for you. I always tip them two bucks. Been coming and thankful for them for the last 25 years when they used to be a block south. There are similar looking joints but none nearly as consistently good as Dyre Fish is. I have tried so many, hoping. It is the oil they dont allow to be used too long and the fresh fish picked up daily at Hunts Point Fish Market. And the prices have barely gone up in all that time.“

their seafood deluxe combo is solid: fried shrimp, whiting fish (i subbed flounder for $1.75 more), imitation crab sticks, and scallop cakes. you have the option of fries or rice; their veggie rice is nice.

if you’re taking it to go, make sure to ask for some sauces on the side!
