“Wonderful experience for our family’s Christmas dinner today. Everyone from the hostess, servers and managers was so attentive to all of our needs and requests. My first time at this SGD location and the food was delicious and the Mango Bingsoo did not disappoint.“

“If you see a sign that says Tomo Sushi, it's the right place. I was confused because I came for Hama Korean, but I talked to the owner of the restaurant and she said it's Hama Korean. I almost went back home, but I am glad I asked the owner.

I absolutely loved food - especially bibimbap - at Hama Korean and so good.

The sign may say Tomo Sushi, but when I asked the restaurant owner, he said it was Hippo Korean. The owners are the same and the food tastes just as good ^^“

The small boneless chicken was honestly huge and the chicken was super crispy. The spicy rice cakes were way better than I expected — especially since I don’t usually like rice cakes.

The only thing keeping this from a 5-star review is that it came with no radish, no dipping sauce, nothing on the side.

For $14 for a small order, I’d expect at least some radish, I’d also give up a few pieces of chicken for radish.

Also, it’s definitely more of a take-out spot — the covered patio is nice but not heated, therefore I ate my food in the car since it was cold.

Overall though, really solid food and an easy 4-star meal.“

“I want to say this place was great in food, vibes, and coziness. This is a great definition of a mom and pop restaurant.

Firstly the food.
I had the bulgogi bento. The bulgogi looked, smelled, and tasted amazing. It had the normal bulgogi flavor with that nice hit of smokiness almost like wokhay from Chinese cooking. I loved each bite as the smokiness hit my mouth and nose. The sides of the bento was good too, the dumplings were nice and crunchy with a nice but just a tad bit bland filling, tho to be fair the filling is fairly standard for korean dumplings. The kimichi is what I prefer, which is the more freshly made kind. And the rice was cooked as I expected from a Korean restaurant, which is good. The salads were fine again its a salad, but it was nice that they added kale to the salad adding this bit of variety. The salad dressing was sweet and a bit tangy, mostly sweet which I do like since I have a sweet tooth.

The other bento was the shrimp tempura, I did get one of the shrimp tempura and it was good. The crunchy and breading was nice and you had the shrimp flavor that was still there.

Finally the tteokbokki. It was great. The rice cakes were chewy and soft and the fish cakes were soft and not mushy. The flavor of the sauce was great too, it had this nice umami to it and was the perfect level of spicy to enjoy.

The price for the food was also reasonable. Both bento costed roughly $18 each and the tteokbokki costed $12. They also had an interesting line up of drinks that was nice.

All this aside I want to also note how cozy and welcoming it felt. The lady that was serving us was very kind and caring. She even asked about how the addition of kale to the salad was because it was a new addition that they changed because people liked kale. I really liked that attention to detail. The store was medium sized with some odds and ends here and there but that added to the charm of the place.

I went on a Thursday during lunch time and it had a good amount of business via pick up but I was there alone with the person I was with dining in.

Overall as a Korean I think this place hits better then certain places in mind the food was good and the atmosphere was comforting.

I do regret not trying some of the other menu items I guess I have to return for some more.

For the sake of Google reviews I gave everything a 5. My personal score may be closer to a 4.4 which is high for my own personal score“

“What an amazing experience we had at The Plating! We dined with my brother who’s been raving about this place. It was one of the best elevated Korean food we’ve ever had.
My husband (professional chef) was blown away by the quality of food!

We started out with Gujeolpan, and ordered Braised Angus short rib, Sotbab with sliced brisket. Every dish was prepared perfectly and banchan (side dish) were freshly made by the chef.

Pricing was reasonable for the quality they provide. Anyone who’s been to modern Korean restaurants in NYC will appreciate the value of food you are getting at The Plating. We felt the chef’s passion and dedication to this wonderful restaurant. We will definitely come back with rest of our family and friends in a near future.

“While eating bossam here, I asked to take the leftovers to go. At many places, when you box food after starting a meal, they usually only pack the main dish.

But here, they thoughtfully packed everything that goes with bossam — the garlic, peppers, ssamjang, shrimp paste, and even the kimchi. It may seem like a small detail, but it honestly meant a lot to me.

“It’s pretty awesome to devour unexpected high quality of donkatsu (pork cutlets) in a food court setting.

There’s only one other restaurant that makes better or similar donkatsu in NJ. That would be Katsune in Fort Lee. Katsune simply knows how to fry cutlets crispy without being greasy. While maintaining the juicy and savory protein inside the fried bread crumbs.

I highly recommend Katsune Donkatsu if you are visiting Little Ferry Hmart and looking something to eat.“

“I really love Dakgalbi, and this is one of the restaurants I went to in NJ. I would say that they do get really busy and it’s worth the wait. I usually spend over an hour here on each visit due to the wait times the food. But they give a lot of complementary dishes like corn and cheese, steamed egg, and a salad if you go during lunch times. I went during dinner and didn’t ge the salad. I love getting the cheese Dakgalbi with rice cake, minari, and sweet potato fries. I love how they give ricr after or have fried rice after. In the photos it was for three people. Would definitely come back because the Dakgalbi is so good!“

Very nice atmosphere, super comfortable. The food is delicious and menu is affordable for the quality of the food you are getting. My husband and I had the Agedashi Tofu, Pork Sirloin Katsu, Tuna Kimbap, and Potato Croquette. For dessert we had the Mango Bingsoo.

The bingsoo is probably the best in the area! Full of delicious mango, and syrup. It’s very tall too, so it’s a good deal.

The owner is very nice. Always provided a quick hot water refill.

“Located inside Han Nam Market, this is by far the best quality and cheapest priced korean food i've tried in NJ. It tastes very similar to my 할머니's cooking in Gapyeong, South Korea.

They have cheap combo prices between $8-16 and serving is very big! It comes with side dishes too! They accept most major credit cards incase you don't have cash.

Their menu has both Korean and American dishes. I tried the seafood bibimbap and thought it was delicious but serving it in such a large pot made it seem like a kid's portion and it really was! Wish there was a bigger portion! I was sad when I was done after like 5 spoonfuls. My husband had the hangover soup or blood pudding soup and it was piping hot all the way till the end and very good as well.The second time we visited we decided to try the American food options so we ordered a house pasta and pork cutlet. We noticed the banchan or side dishes varied slightly which is great. The house pasta was just ok but the pork cutlet stole the show. The gravy was different from the usual tonkatsu sauce. It was very tasty. When the owner lady came by she was surprised we cleaned our plates and said she will give us a bigger portion next time. Haha. This is a nice new place in Pal Park. “I got so lucky when I randomly stumbled upon this place while getting lunch at work. As someone who loves chicken teriyaki trust me when I say you must try theirs. I have been searching for the last few years all around the bergen county area for the best chicken teriyaki and I have found it here. This is my absolute favorite! I have tried probably 50+ restaurants and nothing can beat this. From the way they prepare chicken, to the homemade sauce they use, the perfectly cooked rice and the avocado, egg and dumplings they add on.... it is one of the greatest combinations i've ever tasted. On top of that, their sushi is always delicious and fresh. If thats not enough, they also have fantastic owners and workers there. I always get a warm greeting, and they're thankful for my patronage. Fantastic all around. I will be back soon... My favorite sushi spot!“

“Stopped by on a Saturday at around 10:45 to pick up a few rolls. Everything is premade, so it makes for a nice, quick lunch. Rolls are $7-$8, which is cheap especially since they're made fresh in the morning. I think that's even cheaper than the fridged Hmart ones. Plus, it's packed with ingredients. They don't skimp on the meat and it's a good filling to rice ratio. We tried the grilled pork, beef, and fish cake kimbaps. They all tasted kind of similar but it was pretty good. We also had the dumplings, which I would skip because they just taste like the frozen Hmart mandus.

“Absolutely amazing! Don Chicken never disappoints. The chicken was incredibly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. They even have a Korean Ramyun maker inside the store, which is such a fun touch. Fried chicken, Ddokbokki, and Ramyun make the perfect combination for a great meal. The food came out hot and fresh, and every bite was delicious.

“We were driving from Baltimore to Richmond and specifically stopped to check out Honey Pig's new location. Wow what a great restaurant! Smells amazing when you walk in the door and the servers are beyond professional, friendly, and helpful. We ordered the bibimbap because we weren't quite hungry enough for AYCE. The BBQ at the table around us looked great though and next time would have planned to be hungrier for AYCE. Great food with good size portions. Wish we lived closer so we could go again and again but we will look forward to the next time we are nearby!“

“I’ve tried several soy-marinated crab spots in New York, and this one really stood out. The crab wasn’t overly salty at all, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced and very well done.

The sumac duck broth was on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it, especially in winter. I had been outside all day, and after one bowl of soup I instantly warmed up so much that I started taking layers off. The abalone porridge was also comforting and flavorful. And honestly, one of the best surprises was the free pancake SOOO GOOD.

We really appreciate that the front desk still allowed us to dine even though we arrived just one hour before closing. We ate quickly and even ended up finishing some of the food in the car on the way home 😆

Before coming, I was debating between several restaurants since we live on Long Island and don’t get to Fort Lee very often. I’m happy to say I have no regrets choosing this place.

During our last visit, I witnessed a younger customer (younger than the cashier) giving her a hard time for no apparent reason. Despite this, the cashier kept her smile and continued helping her to the very end, which reminded me of my mom. I felt sympathy, realizing how challenging that must have been for her. This place did not disappoint and the high reviews left here are worth the hype. Ordered the spicy soy garlic + fries combo and it was deeeelicious. Fresh, hot, with the perfect amount of spice and the wings are bigger than what you'd get at a chain fried chicken restaurant. I also upgraded my fries to the truffle parmesean - truffle isnt as outstanding of a flavor but the parm was pretty good. The service is also so nice!
