“We had a family luncheon on Fathers Day or 18 people 12 adults, 6 children under 17. Restaurant had a pleasant, clean atmosphere, staff was friendly, courteous and attentive, and there was something on the menu for everyone..from appetizers, salads and pizzas to full dinner choices. “One of the employees at this location made (my) perfect jersey mikes sandwich order and I am about to call the store and ask for his name because I wanna thank him by name but I didn’t wanna wait to leave this review. I come to this location a lot since I work in the area and they are always good, no complaints. This one employee was so nice too, even tho he had a line and very mean people in front of us, gave us a smile… cool. He finished with “the juice” and asked me if that was good and I said “perfect 👍🏼” because I felt it. I took my sandwich and got stuck in traffic… if you’re a sandwich connoisseur you know what that means. Yup, soggy sandwich. TO MY SURPRISE… I got to my destination and the sandwich was intact, perfect. “Here's the review Spencer wrote for you: My family and I just visited to celebrate my grandsons birthday- we like to get a bunch of plates and share family style and this menu was perfect for that. You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! Each dish had its own layer of perfection with unique flavors and exquisite presentation. I’d say a restaurant on its way to becoming Michelin…..bravo! Food:
I have had the orecchiette (brunch) and the lasagne (dinner). I have also tried the chicken milanese panini. The food really is quite spectacular here: I love that you can really taste how high quality and textured the pasta is. For seemingly simple dishes, they do an amazing job at the flavor. They have good wine selection as well with some affordable options. There is also a happy hour as well to look out for!

Service:
The waiters here are quite friendly and very attentive. They regularly ask if you need anything, and they’ll come do water refills as needed. No complaints at all.

Ambiance:
Located on a street with a good amount of foot traffic but is not that loud. It’s very comfortable outside, and they have seating indoors as well (although I exclusively choose to sit outdoors here). There is a clean restroom downstairs as well.“

“I was very impressed, moonlighting in the bartender night life for the last 20 years. I normally don’t go out to bars. My sister and myself were down at Lenox hospital for our Dads surgery. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. “It was a surprise to find this little restaurant in Harlem. There were no tables, and we took the last two seats at the bar. While we waited, I surprisingly felt at home. The aroma of the food, the care with which Karina prepared each of the dishes, and the kindness and joy they served us. By the time our table was ready, we didn't want to take it anymore; we ate much more than we planned to order because we didn't want to miss out on their delicious food. I have dietary restrictions, and I was surprised to see that everything from the exquisite tortillas to the delicious tres leches dessert was prepared right there, gluten-free and preservative-free.
