“The food was good, portion sizes were big, and we enjoyed everything, but service was very slow and inattentive. Food came out quickly, but drinks took a while to get to us, and we were rarely checked up on. Our dinner for 5 people was about 2.5 hours long due to the slow service.“

“Came here for my anniversary dinner and was blown away by Breeze (pun intended). Easily some of, if not the best Sichuan food we’ve ever had. I got the Winter Frost #2 cocktail and I wasn’t sure what type of flavor I was expecting but it didn’t taste like what I expected in a good way! The cocktail had a mildly sweet, light but depth in flavor profile.
The ginger sauce green beans were some of the best green beans I’ve ever tasted. The sauce they used was addicting. Second favorite item was the diced chicken with chili pepper, which was super spicy but absolutely delicious. But to be honest all of the dishes were home runs! I was just here last night and I’m already daydreaming about coming back to try more dishes.
Also the service was exceptional. The restaurant was full and there were only two guys to cover the front of the house (the hostess, waiter, bartender, and bus boy). They definitely had their hand fulls but still were efficient. Since it was our anniversary dinner they ended up surprising us with a pumpkin rice cake dessert on the house which we thought was the sweetest gesture. I couldn’t have been happier since I absolutely love rice cakes 😋“

“Got the brand sampler. A meal for $19.60.
Here’s what I thought of each item
Har gow / shrimp siu mai - 3/5, hard to get wrong, just didn’t love it, even with the soy sauce.
Chicken siu mai - 5/5, was my favorite
Sticky rice wrap - 1/5, mushroom and sticky rice was not my favorite
BBQ pork bun - 1/5, wasn’t my thing
Crispy shrimp roll - 4/5, pretty good“

“Upon arrival you’re introduced to Grandma’s Home with it’s beautiful and immersive decor honoring Chinese culture. The tableware is intentional as well, where the chopstick rests are carved to represent the 12 different animals from the Chinese zodiac.
Their food is homey yet unique, all the classic dishes you would want with a modern twist. If you like century egg, I recommend that for appetizer. The sauce has a tanginess to it that contrasts the creaminess of the egg. My favorite was their seafood fried rice, each grain cooked to golden perfection. It’s hard to find good fried rice in nyc but they do it brilliantly. The black pepper, pork belly, and salted yolk were good as well. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes to be honest. Lastly, we finish off our meal with coconut pudding with red bean paste and guava and coconut shaved ice. However, I do believe their dessert changes every so often.
The servers could be slightly faster and more attentive but they make it up with the atmosphere and food.“

“Dongpo pork is a must try, it is melt in your mouth! Live music, lively atmosphere and good service. My favorited though was the cucumber salad, so simple yet so refreshing and savory at the same time. Definitely recommend, high quality Asian food.“

“Really good spot, the dumpling of spicy oil were shrimp with a peanut chili oil to die for. Then the crab meat/pork soup dumplings were so delicious, soup was tasty, meat was yum. We also had tonkotsu ramen, one spicy one regular. Really good ramen, broth was thick and so full of flavor, the chashu was super tender. Honestly really good spot. Would definitely come back to try some new dishes.“

“While in Chinatown, we found this small, charming restaurant with excellent ratings, so we decided to give it a try. The place was packed, and although we wanted a booth, we couldn’t sit there since we were only two people. The service wasn’t the friendliest, possibly due to a language barrier, but the food made up for it.
I’m not usually a fan of Chinese food, but my boyfriend is, and I’m glad we stayed—the food was delicious! The menu had photos and numbered items, making it easy to order. I’ve included photos of what we tried. Highly recommended if you’re in Chinatown!“

“We thought it would be impossible to find a place to that could accommodate a last minute reservation for 8, but Ming Mun saved the day! They seated us in the back room which was so nice and the perfect place to sit and chat! We ordered tons of food and the prices were very reasonable! Everything was delicious, thank you so much for accommodating us! Perfect place for delicious dim-sum!“

“Popped in here during a summer rain storm in the city and grabbed some happy hour beers and bites. The rest of the menu and food on others’ tables looked great but we got some dumplings, hot sour soup, and spring roles. Quite good hit the spot while waiting out the rain.“

“This is a lovely restaurant..we were the only ones dining there at 4pm on a Thursday, but my oh my were our dishes a gastronome's delight...the garlic chili noodles, mapo tofu, and dry pot beef were indescribably delicious. The young man who served us was also behind the register and he never returned to ask whether we needed anything...BUT he quickly came to our table when I got his attention. He graciously packed my leftovers for carryout after misunderstanding and placing more fire in the table top stove underneath my dry pot beef. I would definitely return to Baodega to try some other dishes!“
“Food was really good but it took an insane amount of time for my food to come out (ordered rice, soup, and karage chicken). It took way too long for them to even hand me my bottled tea. There weren't even that many people in the restaraunt so idk what the deal was. They did apologize but seriously it shouldn't take that long. It took 30 minutes to get my order.
Also someone kept asking me for money while I was trying to place a kiosk order.
The food was good so I will be coming back but hopefully this is a one time thing“

“The dim sum here is seriously on another level, a total game-changer for my taste buds. The flavors are incredibly vibrant, making each bite an exciting experience. I can't get enough of the savory dumplings, they are my absolute favorite. The chefs clearly know what they're doing, crafting each dish with passion and precision. The textures are spot on, creating a perfect harmony of soft and crunchy. It's the kind of place where you want to order one of everything on the menu. The atmosphere is super inviting and the service is always top-notch, which is a big plus. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful establishment whenever you get the chance.“

“The dumplings are as good here as China Town. Bring 3-4 people and eat them all! I say at the bar and had Soup Dumplings, Shumai and Steamed Rice Roll with BBQ Pork… it’s like a Pork Bun without the Calories! Afternoon Happy Hour large Saki 1/2 price!!! If you’re in Gramacy, you don’t need to take the trip to China Town for excellent Dim Sum. Additionally, they have a Japanese Hibachi Table upstairs.“

“Din Tai Fung has been a long-time favorite of mine, and I’ve visited their locations across Asia more times than I can count. So, I was really looking forward to the opening of this NYC location. It took some time, but as soon as I walked in, I could see why. This isn’t like the more casual branches I’m used to – they’ve gone all out, creating a stunning space that’s perfect for a special night out. Though it’s a large venue, it feels intimate, and the table arrangement makes conversations easy. Service was excellent; our waiter was excited to introduce us to the restaurant and stayed attentive throughout the meal.
Now, the food! We tried two varieties of their signature xiaolongbao – the traditional pork and the pork and crab. Both were superb and just as good as what you’d find in Asia. The paper-thin wrappers are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Pacific, with great flavor and delicious soup inside. The pork chop fried rice was also outstanding – tender, juicy pork served over perfectly cooked fried rice. We also enjoyed the seaweed and tofu salad, which was a great starter. I did miss the wild vegetable tofu and sesame oil salad I’ve had in Asia, but I imagine it might be due to ingredient availability here. Prices are a bit higher than their Asian branches, but for me, the atmosphere and quality were worth it. I’ll definitely be back.
Note: Unlike other locations, this one is reservation-only.“

“NYC typically rivals the Chinese food you can find in the Bay Area and Hupo certainly helps that case. Focusing on Sichuan style cuisine, Hupo has a wide array of entrees and bites that will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. They certainly do deserve their Bib Gourmand. We had a reservation for 5 set for dinner and were glad we did so as the place was very busy when we arrived. The interior is clean and simple with no frills. Once seated we were informed that they only have digital menus through a QR code which was a bit difficult to navigate with 2 out of the 5 of us being older and not as tech savvy but we figured it out anyways.
We ordered a few different entrees and split them family style so we’ll go over them generally. Side note: although many of the dishes are noted as being spicy you can request that they be made without any spice. For dim sum/appetizers we ordered the scallion pancakes and pork soup dumplings. The scallion pancakes were okay, nothing special about them but the pork soup dumplings were a bit better with a tasty broth inside and nice chewy dumplings. For entrees we got duck fried rice, braised beef noodle soup, beef with broccoli, and dan dan noodles.
The duck fried rice was very good. Many places opt to use day-old rice for fried rice and you can often tell by the texture, but if they do that here then we were fooled because the rice tastes fresh and the duck was perfect. The braised beef noodle soup was also good, not the best we’ve had, but still good with the beef having a nice texture and the broth being rich. The beef with broccoli was great, the beef velvetized and delicious, the broccoli, well, broccoli. Lastly, the dan dan noodles were fantastic. The noodles were cooked perfect, the minced beef very delicious, and the bok choy tasty as well. As it is food wise, Hupo is a standout, particularly in the Western Queens area, the only knock being its service is a bit iffy with the workers being not too warm but for the meal you get, we’re willing to shut up and just eat. A fantastic restaurant all around!“
