“My first time eating at Santiagos on Eubank. At first I was scared to go inside. The outside has bars (criminals can't get it) on the windows and a lot of writing and pictures on the windows which looked tacky. The front of the building could use a pick me up makeover and such. The owner made a customer move from a four seat table to a two seat table and said it was because of the rush hour. I did enjoy the food though! I ordered a breakfast burrito and was dreaming I was going to get fried potatoes, but it was a very light serving of hash browns inside. I will definitely be back to try their other food.“

“Been a customer here for well over 20 years. Consistent and really authentic. The stuffed beef sopa was my grandmother's favorite and mine. The servers and staff have been here for a long time and I always appreciate the hospitality. Got my food within 5 minutes and the every seat was taken. “I love this place. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere pleasant and it is most usually full of customers. The waitresses stay busy and do not purposely ignore new customers, they are most likely bogged down with keeping customers happy with delivering orders, refills of coffee, tea or water and a panoply of other duties that they perform. They are not at fault. This restaurant has been in existence for 30 years, I knew it when Loyola, the founder opened it and I know that her daughter Sara is doing a fantastic job of continuing the service that Loyola started. I have zero complaints with this restaurant and certainly miss it when I am not in Albuquerque. Albuquerque is very lucky to have a restaurant of this quality.“

“I decided to try a new local restaurant for breakfast today and had heard really good things about Mick's Chile Fix, and since I was looking for a good chile fix I decided to try it. This place is awesome. I ordered takeout but the diner was super quaint and comfortable, it looked like a fantastic place to have brunch and it smelled amazing! The little gift store they had on the side was super cute too. I ordered a regular sausage breakfast burrito smothered in red and the portions they gave me were absolutely massive. Definitely a 2-day breakfast. The red chile is really rich and flavorful, I'd say a medium heat with enough kick to make my nose run, and the meal was delicious. 12/10 would recommend to anyone looking to support a local Mom&Pop-style restaurant while getting Grade-A+ New Mexican food at the same time. Will have to try the rest of their menu.“

“This restaurant is a gem! Family run, and the most delicious food! We've been going there for over twenty years and recently had them cater our daughter's wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of on the special night. We can't recommend them enough!“

“If you get there early enough, you get a nice table. Their food is first rate New Mexican style food. Not Mexican, NEW Mexican. there is a huge difference. Even after they left the bowling alley, they have managed great food at a great price. Staff is always friendly, fast and efficient. The Chile con queso is fantastic. The salsa never lets you down. While the portions are more than I can eat anymore they have lighter dishes that still deliver. If you get there after 6, you will have a wait ~ but it's worth it!!!“

“Our server, Benjamin was new to his position but went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders were so great, taking care of an elderly gentleman who left his card at the bar. The bartender also made sure the lighting was corrected when someone made an error as it became dark outside. We will definitely come back to this location!“

“If you’re looking for a truly authentic Mexican taco spot that makes you feel like you’re in Mexico, this is the place! The tacos are truly authentic Mexican tacos with great flavor, and the prices are very good.

Just keep in mind that it’s cash only. I highly recommend trying their buche and most definitely their barbacoa tacos. They’re both really good and definitely worth trying. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“First time here, but definitely not the last. Sorry for the pictures, it's a lot of food and I had already eaten 1 taco. I was very hungry too. Got 2 of the carne asada tacos and 1 chicken. The meat was so tender and juicy. The tortillas were really soft, the rice and beans were so tasty. I was not a fan of the Jicama agua, but they have horchata and sandia, so I got options, because yes, I will be back. My only complaint is that it was really cold!“
