“I was unfamiliar with this restaurant, but my husband received a gift card from his colleagues at his retirement party. We came for Valentine's Day and were very pleased with the choice! We started with Old Fashioned and Fried Green Tomatoes. Perfect batter and crunch. The bacon jam gave the perfect amount of bite. Mr. TSwi had fish (sorry - no photo). I had the garlic clove stuffed filet. It was fork-tender and so delicious. Potatoes fried in tallow butter were decadent. We had the Bread Pudding for dessert - and the leftover for breakfast Sunday morning. Overall, great value for the quality of the food. Not ridiculously expensive. Not ostentatious (TSwi wore jeans and a blazer and was well-dressed compared to others.) We will look forward to coming back again soon.“

“My husband loves getting breakfast here when he is going to work. The food taste delicious and the staff is very polite. They offer jamaican cuisine. You can get curry chicken back, jerk chicken, fish, goat, oxtail, rice and peas, white rice, boiled food/ ground provision, steamed and fresh veggies, baked goods, festival, fritters, soup and porridge. This morning I got steamed calaloo & saltfish with fried dumplings and plantains. Hubby got white rice and curry chicken back. The restaurant can get a little crowdy and you may have to wait a few minutes to be served, but it's worth the wait. Also there is no parking lot available but you can find parking on the street easily. They also sell freshly squeeze juice. Overall I highly recommend them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.“

“I visited The 6 for the first time last month, and I’ve been going back ever since—at least three times a week! My bartender, Dom, has been absolutely amazing to both me and my husband. Her contagious energy instantly makes the place feel warm and welcoming. Not only are her drinks always on point, but she’s also extremely attentive—constantly checking in to make sure we’re good and if there’s anything else we need. She truly goes above and beyond every time. This is by far the best place I’ve been to, and it’s all thanks to Dom!“

“This was my first time trying their food. I had the Curry Chicken lunch and dumplings (they were tasty after I reheated them). The CC, sweet plantain and cabbage were good! But I don't know why Jamaican restaurants only give you a table spoon of cabbage 😁. The rice was okay but a little dry even with gravy. The serve J. was nice!“

“the food is always great, never disappointed.“
“I came across this food joint while running some errands in the neighborhood. It is beyond my expectations from a small take-out like place. The food is really delicious, flavorful! You can see the open kitchen in the back and it’s clean. The staff is also very friendly to give recommendations since I am not familiar with Jamaican food. I am still thinking about the food after 6 hours! It’s just so delicious! I may have to come back to the Bronx again just for this!“

“I came here twice and I must say that the curry goat and fried chicken is the best. I order a medium curry goat with white rice and a side of fried chicken. 10/10. But for $26?! The issue is that you can’t really get what you want. Hear me out for example… you can’t get a small order of oxtail….like?! You can only get a medium size with a side. It’s overpriced. Just by looking at it I can tell it’s not even worth the price. Also if you get like a medium size meal with any meat and rice you can’t get it with plantain. It’s extra charge. BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE PORTION IS WORTH IT. THEY GIVE MORE. I’ve tried the Mac and cheese and it was baaaadd. Just cheese and unseasoned roux. That’s if they use roux. It’s oily and you can’t even see or smell a spec of seasoning. Taste like a sweet treat no shade. The fried chicken though I give that 15/10. Tastes better than Kennedys. The goat meat falls off the bonnnneeee. The rice is perfect; not too mushy and not too rough. I’m on my way there right now😂😂. Is it worth trying? Hell yeah. The Mac and cheese though.. that’s to your advantage.“

I will most definitely be back. Can't wait for the summer time to roll back around so I can try their famous soursop and passion fruit slushies.“

“I just would like to say I love this restaurant so much everything is always so flavorful and worth the money. To anyone who reads any negative reviews about the owner PLEASE do not listen to that. He is a kind man and I see a few reviews of people saying he’s rude and miserable and that is Not true at all. Wonderful food and service. I will be back with my food pics ?“

“Fresh food, great prices, big portions.Empanadas anywhere in the BX are $2-$2.50. here they are $1. Everything here was priced more affordably compared to any of the other Dominican spots on 138th street and in the neighborhood. Big plates. Also, they cater to the blue collar crowd. Lunch food is ready by 9:30AM. Perfect lunch spot if you're a city worker, construction, etc.“

“**Review for Les Q**
I have been a loyal customer of Les Q for the past 4.5 years, and my experience has been consistently outstanding. The owner, Howie, truly sets this place apart with his warm hospitality and dedication to excellence. The staff at Les Q is equally amazing, always attentive and friendly, making every visit a pleasure.
The food at Les Q is consistently good, which is a rarity in many places. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you can always expect delicious, well-prepared dishes. The menu offers a great variety, and everything I've tried has been top-notch.
Overall, Les Q is a gem of a restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking good food. Kudos to Howie and his fantastic team for their exceptional service and culinary consistency!“

“Ali’s Roti Shop on White Plains Road is a solid Trinidadian Caribbean spot that really hits the mark. They have a great selection of doubles you can go with the regular chickpea version or add saltfish, shrimp, or chicken depending on what you’re in the mood for. The flavors are very good and taste authentic, just like proper Trinidad food should. Another big plus is how fast the food comes out, even when they’re busy. Definitely a go to spot in the Bronx when you’re craving doubles.“
“First of all I would like to say please people check out this cousin and make your order your missing out on the best jamaican/caribbean cousins....her cooking is second to none...please check it out“
“Wanted to take some time to show my appreciation. My family and I were very pleased with our selection of this establishment for our repast service for my mother. The owner was very accommodating in short notice. The buffet that was laid out was just what we ordered. Place was very clean and the service from the staff was amazing. Really can’t say enough about that part. From the picking up of finished plates, them coming around with multiple fruit options, opening up for us 20 mins early so we weren’t in the blazing sun, and the show of support in our time of grieving. Tonia thank you for going above and beyond. 5 stars for sure. Once again my family and I humbly thank you.“

“Coconut Palm Restaurant just transported my taste buds on a first-class flight to the tropics! Nestled like a hidden gem in the heart of the city, this vibrant spot is a celebration of island vibes, bold flavors, and seriously good food. Now, let’s talk food. The coconut shrimp? Crunchy golden bites of heaven, with a sweet chili dip that should probably come with a warning label: dangerously addictive. The jerk chicken had just the right kick—spicy enough to wake up your senses, but mellowed by a velvety coconut rice that deserves its own fan club. And the tropical cocktails? Let’s just say I now fully understand the phrase “drink in paradise.” Whether you’re out for date night, catching up with friends, or just craving an edible vacation, Coconut Palm Restaurant delivers a dining experience that’s both fun and unforgettable.“

“I always come to this spot like more than I should like my wallet has/is hurting.
The food is delicious, the price is decent (has increased with everything in life) but you can get right with close to 10 bucks.
Maybe I'm biased since the food and the people that work there are from my country but they are very nice and friendly.
There is a seating area but most of the customers usually pickup. Don't eat in if you are not comfortable with troves of people coming in and out.
I consider this one of the best Dominican eateries in the Bronx, every time I get food anywhere else 9/10 times I am disappointed.
It's a little good but that's how you know the food bust.“

“We had just come from my uncle burial at Woodlawn cemetery. My cousins and I had not eaten anything, and we were hungry. We google the closest latin restaurant and we found this location. They had food in a buffet style behind the counter. They had different type of soup. All kinds of meats and rices which meant the food will be served quickly. The food was delicious and low in sodium. The only thing that surprised me was that they didn't have red onion in the sauce, which is common for the green banana, no avocado, and no alcoholic beverages. Again, the food is the star.“

“My experience has always been amazing, both in person and online. This is my favorite restaurant. Paul has been doing an amazing and excellent job. He takes his time to go to the limit in making sure his customers are happy and meals are prepared how we requested. They are trustworthy and I thank God I have somewhere I don’t have to ever be concerned about when ordering online. Keep up the good work PAUL….?????????????“

“Great food but terrible customer service I absolutely love your restaurant the food is amazing! But honestly, some of your staff could really use hospitality training. There’s no reason I should be leaving upset just because an employee didn’t want to serve me over something as small as extra gravy. Without customers, there wouldn’t even be a business, so the service needs to reflect that.“

“Stopped by randomly, around 9pm. Nuff a the food were finished(sold out) but we got the pepper steak w/rice&peas and raw vegetables (shredded carrots and cabbage, love it!) and sweet chilie wings w/rice and peas. Firstly, rice and peas can eat by itself! Well nice!! She wanted oxtail but it was basically done but server(wish i got her name) gave us the few small pieces with the gravy to her rice. Looking forward to trying their curry goat. Represent Jamaican food lovely, support!!“
