The service alone would make me return but, food wise next time I’ll be trying the Rasta pasta and Stew chicken. The Oxtails and Fried chicken are amazing!

“I came here for the first time for brunch with my fiance. We didn't make a reservation but we were seated instantly.. I would highly encourage making reservations as there were multiple events happening there and we were lucky to get in on a walk-in LOL. The wait staff was very friendly. We had nice conversations and She was attentive. My fiance ordered that oxtail Rasta pasta which was amazing. And I got the chicken and red velvet waffles which was also very good. I liked his dish more though LOL. We also ordered the ackee and saltfish patties. I love that concept. It was creative and very good. I ordered the rum punch( potent and delicious) while my fiance had the bottomless brunch drinks for 1 hour. It included either a screwdriver or a mimosa. The difference if you would like to know is one is vodka and orange juice. The other is champagne and orange juice. We preferred the vodka LOL. Really nice Restaurant. atmosphere was beautiful music on point we were jamming out. We had such a great time. Amazing vibes. Highly highly, highly recommend and will definitely be returning.“

“Jerk chicken this weekend was great. Time before this was terrible. I have been here several times and it is seemingly hit or miss. Depends on who cooked the food. Jerk chicken, cabbage and plantains. All delicious this time. Hopefully it can remain consistent as its a treat when its good.
Their plantains are always good.
Patties most times good…had a couple of misses. Too mushy on the misses. They actually don’t do too bad with mac n cheese which is a first for me from a WI restaurant. Its not great but its not at all bad.
Overall, we will continue to support. The cashiers are always very pleasant as well…especially the young man…he is refreshingly delightful. IYKYK when it comes to the Jamaican spots….“

Everything here was priced more affordably compared to any of the other Dominican spots on 138th street and in the neighborhood. Big plates. Also, they cater to the blue collar crowd. “We had just come from my uncle burial at Woodlawn cemetery. My cousins and I had not eaten anything, and we were hungry. We google the closest latin restaurant and we found this location. They had food in a buffet style behind the counter. They had different type of soup. All kinds of meats and rices which meant the food will be served quickly. The food was delicious and low in sodium. The only thing that surprised me was that they didn't have red onion in the sauce, which is common for the green banana, no avocado, and no alcoholic beverages. Again, the food is the star.“

The chicken was a bit salty for my liking but the flavor was there and everything was cooked well. The price for that specific dish is also very reasonable. Would recommend.“

“The food at Coconut Palm and Grill is very fresh and tasty. The Friedrice is delicious and quite a large portion. You can find any kind of Caribbean food here, from black pudding to jerk chicken. The menu and portions are selective for a family. I enjoyed the very soft Dhollpuri and curry. It was so large and fresh… right of the grill. This is the place to get your Caribbean palate satisfied. I like their services and the freshness of every dish. The prices are great and reasonable to suit your budget. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal. It’s one of the best authentic Caribbean restaurant I have enjoyed. I give it 5 stars. It’s clean, professional and the service was excellent. Thank you to the staff for a delicious meal!

“This was my first time trying their food. I had the Curry Chicken lunch and dumplings (they were tasty after I reheated them). The CC, sweet plantain and cabbage were good! But I don't know why Jamaican restaurants only give you a table spoon of cabbage 😁. The rice was okay but a little dry even with gravy. The serve J. was nice!“

BTW if you get a special to go you can get a free can of (ginger ale or Sunkist). But if you eat in you don’t get the free soda. They already include 15% tip on your bill so no need to pay extra beyond the bill unless you want to. And if you get the grilled salmon steak special which is $11.95 and includes 2 pieces of maduro (sweet plantain) and rice it has bones. But if you get the fillet salmon they debone it and it’s more expensive at $24.95 and comes with 2 sides.“

“First time coming here and the food was excellent. I had the jerk chicken with rice n peas and cabbage. It was cooked with love and inexpensive.
Drinks were done right. I had the rum punch and coconut margarita. However the cups it was served in definitely not worth $15. Please change that.
Music was good though I preferred more reggae for being a Caribbean lounge.
Service was excellent never waited long for food or drinks to come out. Our server who is also bartender was super sweet and attentive.“
