“I’m sorry that I don’t have a picture of my food. I was so eager to try it because it looked and smelled delicious. I had jerk chicken and potato salad. I was not disappointed! I’m going back. The service was great and owner of the food truck is very attentive. He apologized for the wait (which wasn’t really long at all!). I loved the customer service, but the food was soo much better. It was very tasty and left me craving more. I will be a regular at this food truck! 😋 ❤️“

“Quality Jamaican food in Brooklyn Heights! The food is consistent I think I've tried everything on the menu. The meat just falls off the bone and is seasoned to perfection. The Oxtail, Stew Chicken, Rasta Pasta you name it they all are delightful. A party in your mouth at a reasonable price you just can't beat it. I really wanted to Gate Keep this one but its so good others need to try it.“

“Was recommended to go here a couple of weeks ago by a friend who lives nearby and always Door Dash from here. Ordered the escovitch meal and fried whiting for my daughter. The whiting never made it home 😊 It was crunchy and very well seasoned. My daughter ate it all in the car. Thank you to the server for giving her good pieces. The escovitch, I should've gotten a large. It was so good. Definitely a much different and better taste that what I am used to in Queens. I will definitely be back“

“I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

“I usually get jerk chicken there and patties. These are the ones I like to buy there. The other food are good too but, I have my preferences. Just jerk chicken,not the meal . Long time ago, I used to buy fish there but,it became too hot/ spicy for me to digest.“

They were out of jerk chicken and curry chicken, so I got the stew chicken. THANK GOD. Chicken was soooooo good, so soft, so buttery. Rice & beans I swallowed in heaving spoonfuls. The plantains??? Oh my god, soft, some a tad crispy, sweet perfection.

“My church just hosted a fish fry. I shopped around everywhere to find a price that was right. All the prices that the big name restaurants gave me were unrealistic. I found this wonderful woman, owner of this beautiful restaurant. She was so polite, so helpful, and motivating when I felt like giving up on the event. I ordered 2 kinds of fish, 50 total, and that was the NICEST fish I’ve ever eaten. I could recommend this establishment to any party, any event, any anything lol. This is the place to be. she’s very efficient and I loved the entire experience with her.“

“Having lived in Brooklyn for over a decade, I’ve had my fair share of jerk chicken, from various places - hole in the walls, fancy restaurants, carts, and of course, backyards. Hits and misses. I have my one sacred, tried and true jerk chicken spot that never fails me. However, I saw this place as I was walking to my job and I decided to give them a try. One of the best decisions I’ve made all year.

The jerk chicken here is incredible. Watching them cook it up fresh was a unique experience while the chef was detailing the history of the restaurant and how amazing the price and portion you actually get for it. Little did I know, the chef, a lovely and kind Bajan woman would be cooking up one of the best bites I’ve had all year.

Don’t know where you’ll get that amount of chicken for $7, and a free slice of bread? Which seems to be a lost relic for jerk spots nowadays. It’s hard to beat that value, especially in this financial climate.

The chicken itself was tender, yet cooked through with that traditional grill texture but still moist. The meat was flavorful and had that classic char but it did not carry a BURNT flavor. One thing that did set them apart from all the other jerk spots I’ve been too? The sauces. I forgot to count, but I believe they had over 10 different sauces. I rarely put sauce on my jerk chicken, cause in my opinion, the best jerk chicken has no sauce. All the flavor should come from the meat and seasonings. But I couldn’t resist. All in all.. this might be my new favorite spot. Even though I did cover it in 3 different sauces.. the flavor was still there.

I plan to come back, for the large next time and I’ll cover half in sauce and leave the other half dry.

Long story short…One of the best pure jerk chicken spots in ALL of NY. Please give these great people a try!“

“The service was okay I'm not sure what's up with Jamaican restaurant customer service they are not very pleasant to deal with. They act as if they never want to be at work. I get it but not every single day is a bad day. I really like the fried chicken that's why I continue to return“

They don’t serve you small pieces of salmon... they were meaty! And made for great leftovers. When I visit New York again, Island Choiz will definitely be a go to.“

“Soldiers is getting bad, I'm not sure if they changed the chef but I waited all week to get the stew peas and rice which had no seasoning, none, not even salt and pepper in when I call to inform the Of this error they had attitude think I was going to move my car and come back for a refund (which is what they hope for) 2nd Saturday morning 9am I buy food because I don't want stale food 2nd time the fried dumpling are drenched in cold oil and and then breakfast cold Not sure what you want to do but but uncooked hard meat is killing black folks and not listening isnt working neither.“

“It was a good experience, I went there initially to find out how much it would be for a small pan of BBQ chicken and it was way too much so I didn't order it but I did get half chowmein and half fried rice with BBQ chicken and it was really good. The customer service could be better though, sometimes they're nice, other times you get attitude like they couldn't be bothered to serve you. Very hit or miss with the service but the food has always been good according to my mom and they have good pricing for there stuff. “Boston Jerk City is great! I've been to plenty of restaurants (especially carribean) and Boston Jerk City has by far been the best. The food is always consistantly good and the portions are very overwhelming but great if u like to enjoy the next day or later. I feel like the restaurant should have a more welcoming feel, the thick plastic glass between you & the server is sort of strange but I know its for there safety.
