“It was a good experience, I went there initially to find out how much it would be for a small pan of BBQ chicken and it was way too much so I didn't order it but I did get half chowmein and half fried rice with BBQ chicken and it was really good. I'm Guyanese so they did a great job with the food.“

“Soldiers is getting bad, I'm not sure if they changed the chef but I waited all week to get the stew peas and rice which had no seasoning, none, not even salt and pepper in when I call to inform the Of this error they had attitude think I was going to move my car and come back for a refund (which is what they hope for) 2nd Saturday morning 9am I buy food because I don't want stale food 2nd time the fried dumpling are drenched in cold oil and and then breakfast cold Not sure what you want to do but but uncooked hard meat is killing black folks and not listening isnt working neither.“

“My opinion is 8.7/10. Is it the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had? No but overall our place that makes handmade Jamaican beef patties with a good overall flavor I recommend it. Best thing definitely has to be the crust I just wish for $3 it was a little bit more meat / seasoning. Check out my in depth video reviews on any of the platforms below. “I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

“I was in the area and I did a search for Caribbean food. I clicked on this place and saw that they had a 4.6/5. I clicked on the review section and the first one that I read said that’s it’s the best she’s ever had in NY, then went on to specify that the Oxtail specifically is what she was raving about. Turns out that’s exactly what I was in the mood for. I went there around 1:30pm on a Wednesday, it wasn’t crowded at all. Nothing fancy inside or out but it’s a tad about a hole in the wall. I ordered the Oxtail with white rice and I ordered their in-house fruit punch. It was already bottled and sealed. A nice older lady served me and she was very polite. The other two men that worked alongside her seemed very nice as well. The Oxtail was really good but it’s not the best that I had in NY. However I do feel comfortable recommending it to people. Parking is a pain, because there is some sort of collision repair nearby, and they have all their cars taking up the parking spots“

“I’ve always passed this restaurant on my way to Carvel which is located next door and decided to stop in because I had a taste for oxtails. The server was very pleasant which made me felt good about the restaurant and food. I must say I haven’t had a oxtail dinner like that in a long time, from the rice to the veggies and the plantains which had a wonderful kick not like a regular sweet plantain it had a nice little Spivey spice to it. I look forward to going back to try a few more of their dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant and you can also dine in the serene clean atmosphere. That’s why I’ve given it 4stars. Try it for yourself“

“I can't help but eat anywhere that has a smoking grill out front - the chicken here comes to you right off the coals, and the sauce options are prodigious. I got mine drenched in tamarind sauce, and it was some of the juicest and tastiest chicken I've had in a while~“

“Food was delicious. I had fried chicken and rice and peas. There was a long line, but it moved pretty quickly cashier / server could have been a little more polite. Nice music played. Plenty of food to make choices from fish, shrimp jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail and soups. Different styles of rice. My hat goes off to the chef.“

“I’m very new to Caribbean food so take my 5 stars with a grain of salt but it was incredibly delicious J*** Chicken with plenty of seasonings and very tender, rice and peas which were very good, and mac and cheese. There were really generous portions and the staff was very kind.“

“For Thanksgiving dinner we ordered a large pan of j*** salmon and a pan of Rasta pasta. The pasta was amazing and the salmon was even better! They don’t serve you small pieces of salmon... they were meaty! And made for great leftovers. When I visit New York again, Island Choiz will definitely be a go to.“

“I usually get jerk chicken there and patties. These are the ones I like to buy there. The other food are good too but, I have my preferences. Just jerk chicken, not the meal . Long time ago, I used to buy fish there but,it became too hot/ spicy for me to digest.“
