“We had a very pleasant experience on Sunday Feb 15 , 2 pm at Moon Kee. It was a party of 10 at one of the round tables, for a birthday. Some people were quite hungry, so we started ordering dim sum right away from the trolleys that were making the rounds. All of the dim sum dishes were excellent. The main dishes that came later were also on point: well cooked, tasty and quite large portions. Very few of us were able to finish our meals; many take-away containers were required. The staff kindly helped us serve out a birthday cake that we had brought in. My only small critique, which brought the atmosphere rating down to 4 stars, was that our table, which was the round one closest to the front door, would get blasted by a cold draft whenever the door opened. I recommend that they install some sort of windbreak entrance as you see at many restaurants.
Overall, a delightful experience, large quantities of delicious food at reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back, and will recommend to others.“

“Delicious Cantonese food at King's Kitchen. I came here for Flushing restaurant week, and it was probably my favorite Flushing restaurant week find. They ran out of lava custard buns so they substituted the pork BBQ buns and they were delicious. The stir-fried purple cabbage and the fish head casserole were very good - both were made very very well, they tasted delicious and had perfect textures. Soup was good too. Very happy overall with my experience at King's Kitchen.“

“My first time trying coconut hot pot and I’ve clearly been missing out! The coconut broth was light and sweet, and way easier on the stomach than a regular hot pot.

We visited on one of the coldest days, and the restaurant was PACKED. It’s located in Downtown Flushing, literally right next to Tangram. It’s also more affordable than other coconut hot pot spots in the city, with a heartier portion too.

Shoutout to the impeccable service — our server even helped skim off the floating oil from the broth (and made me want to buy that ladle lol).

*Coconut Chicken (for two) 皇椰雞套餐 $75.95
They use cage-free chicken, and the pieces were generously sized with not too much bone. This portion was already enough to feed four. The set also comes with vegetables, plus your choice of rice or noodles. The coconut broth wasn’t heavy at all that we were basically sipping it nonstop.

*Poached Egg & Beef Clay Pot Rice 窩蛋牛肉煲仔飯 +$15
You get a discounted price if you add their claypot rice to your hot pot order. It looked very promising and delicious, especially with the runny poached egg. But I thought the rice needed a few more minutes in the clay pot to crisp up the base a bit more.

*Maxi’s Noodle Wonton 雲吞妹雲吞 $9.95
The price is pretty steep for just three wontons, but I love Maxi’s so much that I still went for it. The shrimp wontons were so plump and meaty.

*Handmade Battered Shrimp 極品鮮蝦滑 $12.95
SOOOO GOOD I am a fan of shrimp paste in a hot pot.“

“A very cozy and earnest place with authentic Chinese food in the form of small bites and classic dishes. The duck was super succulent and came with cucumber, scallion and traditional Chinese wraps. We also had the lamb and beef skewers which were so tender and flavorful! Definitely one of my favorites.

Saw lots of people who also dug into the hot pot and the grilled bass stewed in the big trays which also looked amazing. Will definitely be trying those next time around.

All in all a hidden gem with unassuming vibes but very cute decor (and funny! If you're in the private room in the back 😉). The plating and dishes are creative while still staying true to their roots.“

“Confused by previous reviews that state no one eats here anymore, as sitting here at lunchtime on a recent weekday showed a flurry of both delivery orders and dine-in customers. The menu is for sure pan-Asian/reflective of American-Chinese dishes, but also serves some specifically Chinese dishes, such as a few dim sum favorites that are harder to find unless you're at a Cantonese restaurant. Lunch special is a great deal with sizeable portions. Love that they keep the fridge stocked with desserts (believe some of them are from Vegan Treats?) and often have additional off-menu homemade items for sale at the counter or in the fridge, including ones related to Chinese cultural holidays. Always glad to support this small family-run business and have personally found their food to be consistent for the wide range of what they're cranking out of their kitchen! Hope they keep sticking around for years to come, as it's a great vegan option in this immediate area. Updated from previous review on 2026-03-01“

I went there when I was feeling under the weather and wanted something warm so I paid $20 for a bowl and thought it was expensive because near my house, a bowl of pho costs $14 at max with extras. Then the bowl came and the portion changed my first impression. Not bad at all for a $20 bowl, very big portion. The moment the soup entered my mouth, I realized why they charged $20 for a bowl. So rich in flavor and tastes like a bowl filled with nutrients. The beef slices, etc etc, the ingredients compliment each other. I knew it was worth it when I finished the bowl.

Verdict: Totally worth it and will come again.“

“Canton Manor 新東湖 is one of those Chinatown dim sum houses that really reminds you why this tradition has lasted for centuries. Dim sum began in Guangdong teahouses along the Silk Road, where small snacks were paired with tea for travelers. Over time, it evolved into the weekend ritual we know today families gathering around steaming baskets, sharing bite-sized plates that show off both skill and comfort.

The har gow here set the tone: the wrappers were thin and translucent yet sturdy enough to hold plump, juicy shrimp. Biting into them gave that satisfying snap that only comes from fresh seafood. The siu mai, a benchmark of any dim sum restaurant, were equally well done meaty pork with shrimp folded in, juicy without being greasy, with a clean umami that lingers. The shrimp rice noodle rolls were silky and soft, the rice sheets gliding across the palate, wrapping shrimp that still had bounce. A drizzle of sweet soy tied everything together. This dish has its roots in Guangdong street food, but in the dim sum setting it becomes something elegant and comforting.

The savory small plates brought balance and heartiness. The steamed pork spare ribs were simple but flavorful, tender pieces that showcased the pork itself rather than hiding behind sauce. Braised chicken feet ,a true test of dim sum technique, were glossy and tender, the skin and tendons melting into a sticky, flavorful bite. 黑椒牛仔骨 stood out for their boldness the meat was tender yet still had chew, coated in a peppery sauce that carried both spice and fragrance. It’s a dish that reflects Hong Kong’s adaptation of Western seasonings, with black pepper becoming a Cantonese kitchen staple in the 20th century.

The Century egg and pork congee was one of the meal’s comforting highlights. The porridge had been simmered down until silky, almost creamy, with the earthy depth of preserved egg balanced by the light savoriness of lean pork. Cantonese congee has always been prized for its soothing qualities, often served to the young and elderly alike, and this version captured exactly that warmth. 牛杂 beef offal stew brought another layer of tradition: tripe, tendon, and brisket cooked slowly in a seasoned broth until tender. This dish traces back to Hong Kong’s dai pai dong food stalls, where nothing was wasted and every part of the animal was transformed into something flavorful. Here, it carried spice, richness, and texture in every bite.

For sweets, the Pineapple bun was nostalgic fluffy bread topped with a golden, crackly crust that gave way to soft, warm dough inside. Despite the name, there’s no pineapple; the crisscross crust just resembles the fruit’s pattern. This iconic Hong Kong bakery item became popular in the 20th century and remains a staple for a reason. The 椰汁糕 was the perfect closer refreshing and delicate, with the fragrance of coconut milk and just enough sweetness to cleanse the palate.

What makes Canton Manor special isn’t just the range of dishes, but the consistency: nothing felt greasy, rushed, or carelessly put together. Each plate highlighted its own textures and flavors while still fitting into the bigger rhythm of a dim sum meal tea, conversation, sharing, and balance. In a neighborhood filled with options, Canton Manor manages to stand out by honouring both the history of dim sum and the taste expectations of today’s diners.“

“We have been to Shun Won many times, and this time we bought a whole roast duck and a whole scallion oil chicken. Both were delicious as usual, and the quality has been very consistent.

The roast duck has great flavor, and the meat is not dry. The scallion oil chicken looks a little different from other places because the color is more yellow, but that is just the appearance — it still tasted very good and the meat was tender.

There is usually a line every time we come, but the wait is not too bad. The staff comes out and takes orders from people in line, so you don’t have to wait until you get to the counter to order. That makes the line move faster.

The restaurant has an old-school Flushing Cantonese restaurant feel. We also saw many people dining in for breakfast, so next time we would like to come back and try their breakfast and other dishes.

Overall, this is a solid and reliable Cantonese restaurant with consistently good food. We’ll definitely keep coming back.“

“The food was spot on, classic traditional Cantonese food. This place is really a hidden gem. Flavor was on point. The texture was good. Fried rice perfect. It was a very satisfying dinner to start off 2026.

Definitely recommend everything we ate tonight:
- Deep Fried salted anchovies
- fried Pig Intestines
- Water boiled sliced Beef
- Peking Pork Chop
- Mutton Brisket stew
- Golden/Silver Egg Fried Rice

I would recommend everything we ate. hard to find a spot on Cantonese Restaurant, this is it! I'm coming back soon“

“Dinner at 4:30. Very nice and quiet with great service. We loved all the dishes we ordered (see photo attached). Everything cooked perfectly including the scallops! I do wish the dishes a bit larger portions but they are delicious that Quality wins over Quantity. We ordered 4 dishes for 3 of us. Would come again“

“This is my newest favorite in the wonton restaurant in New York. It is a tiny place, but the free tea is hot. I had the "trio" wonton with noodles, with additional vegetables, which are tender baby yuchoy. The trio wonton were all very good, but I can't say I could distinguish among the three types. All had crunchy shrimp, one said had watercress, although I couldn't figure which. The added vegetables, for an extra $2, was well worth it. The vegetable portion was large enough to merit a second bowl. It was a bargain at $12.50. I liked it so much that I ordered the same a few days later. The 3rd time I visited, I ordered wonton with stewed beef and with added vegetable. Again, it was very good, but the vegetable portion was significantly reduced, but the beef portion was large (very large for someone who rarely eats meat). I ordered this dish twice also.“

“When I came in from the outside I thought it looked like 1 of those sketchy places you see in a strip mall on the highway. When I sat down I was happy too see that the waitress came quickly and efficiently brought the food out quickly aswell. I ordered the chicken fried rice and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend going here on a date. The only thing keeping this place from a 5 is there above average prices.“

“excellent food. there is always a little wait but that speaks to the excellence of the cuisine and how good the place is. if you go for dimsum it’s really affordable. it you opt for some of the entrees the prices are good but we tend to favor their lobster sticky rice which is so big we can rarely finish the entirety of two lobsters and it’s so incredibly delicious.“

“Real ones know Queens don’t play about food.
Pulled up to Shun Wang in Elmhurst and went full savage mode on some real Cantonese classics. No fancy vibes, just serious flavor.
Roast Pig over rice? Crispy, juicy, zero mercy.
Roasted duck over white rice? Illegal levels of good.
Pork wonton noodle soup? Broth so rich it pays rent.
This is traditional Cantonese done the right way — friendly staff, big portions, no nonsense.
If you’re in Queens and not eating here, that’s on you.
Dine in or take out… just don’t miss it. 🍚🔥“

“This is a very classic Cantonese restaurant, I would’ve believed you if you said I was in Guangzhou. Food was mid but maybe I was expecting too much. The rice rolls weren’t thin enough and the congee too thin and not flavourful enough. Nowhere as good as in Guangzhou. They have private function rooms and karaoke inside exactly like in Guangzhou.

It was trolley service though without a menu so you might struggle if you don’t speak Chinese.“

“must get: house special fried rice + crispy garlic chicken + pig ears cold appetizer + crab fish belly soup

i know this place has a plethora of lunch specials that everyone seems to come here for, but my family and i usually come here for dinner family style. the pig ears are spicy and aromatic, thinly sliced so it absorbs the flavors well. the house special fried rice is delicious with the raisins and crispy salted fish flakes! the walnut shrimp and mapo tofu were okay, would pass.

make sure to also ask about the free sliced oranges once you pay the check; i’ve noticed they don’t automatically bring it to non chinese speaking customers…“
