“Superb dining experience! I was provided a single table for myself without any hassle. The duck was crispy, generous portions, and the rice was well-cooked. I really favored the golden chopsticks and utensils. I asked to keep them but was told no, unfortunately. My only complaint was that it look nearly 25 minutes for the preparation of my meal.“

“I had been to this space in previous concept iterations and decided to check it out before a show around the corner at Blue Note one night.
Needless to say I was taken away by the full meal from the setting, to the service, to the meal and feel like we have had 4 or 5 courses looking back at it. Whatever the french toast dessert was out of this world but so was the crispy duck and pasta dish I’m blanking on the name of. All were delicious and the service was equally as great.
Will definitely come back again. Thanks team 🙏🏽“

“I have been dreaming about getting rice rolls from here for years and I was not let down. The fresh shrimp rice roll was fantastic. I didn’t know what the sauces were I just put everything on them and it was amazing especially for just $4 ?!! Remember to bring cash folks! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Chinatown.“

“Such a great place! The owner is the sweetest lady, the food is absolutely delicious, we got the scallion pancakes, shrimp wonton soup and fried pork dumplings and it all was so good! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is so cozy and nice, feels like a trip back home to your grandma. Just an absolute gem.“

“Hey Yuet, don't make it bad
Take a sad Zhong and make him better
Remember that Har Gao’s good for your heart
You know that shrimp will make it better
Hey Yuet, don't be afraid
To make Lo Mai Gai with fresh chopped ginger
The minute you serve us crispy pork skin
Then you begin to make it better
And anytime you feel the strain, Hey Yuet, refrain
Don't carry bad reviews on your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By serving Choy Sum when it’s colder
Hey Yuet, don't let me down
Don’t douse beef tripe with too much vinegar
Remember to fill up foods on your cart
Then you can start to make it better
So let ‘em out and let ‘em in, Hey Yuet, begin
You're waiting for tables to open
And don't you know that it's just you, Hey Yuet, you'll do
Cause our love for Dim Sum has awoken
Na na na, na na na na
na na na na
Hey Yuet“

“This is a place I visit occasionally because it's very close to home.
Overall, the portion sizes and food quality are excellent for the price. The meals are satisfying, and I feel it offers great value compared to many other options in the area.
It's a convenient and reliable spot that I’m happy to return to from time to time.“

“Lychee ice was delicious and quite sweet, with a few real lychees in it. The braised lobster with scallions was a bit too salty. The osmanthus vermicelli and egg soup actually had a hint of osmanthus fragrance. The quality of their dishes is relatively consistent.“

“It’s a cool spot for a quick bite! One of those quick lunches you can get while you’re on the go, in a convenient location. This place hits the spot for me when I don’t quite have time to sit down and have a full hour long meal but I still want to sit and enjoy my lunch, boom here’s my recommended spot!
I really do like how convenient the location is and I can be in and out and back to work in no time!“

“This is a very crowded most of the time Chinese restaurant in NYC Chinatown, and the prices are still reasonable. The ingredients are fresh, but sometimes they are so so busy, the take out orders don't look like they should. But I must say, the Cantonese cuisine is one if the best in any city.“

“Delicious Cantonese food at King's Kitchen. I came here for Flushing restaurant week, and it was probably my favorite Flushing restaurant week find. They ran out of lava custard buns so they substituted the pork BBQ buns and they were delicious. The stir-fried purple cabbage and the fish head casserole were very good - both were made very very well, they tasted delicious and had perfect textures. Soup was good too. Very happy overall with my experience at King's Kitchen.“

“I work in a unit above the restaurant, so I've gotten food here easily over a hundred times.
The roast meats are all amazing.
The lunch special (to-go only) is insane value, just utterly insane. There are like a million options and you can customize your own pairings... I really recommend bitter melon + scrambled egg!!
Anyway. This place rocks, one of the most consistent (I've tried like 90% of the huge menu and besides one or two things everything has been amazing) restaurants I've been to.“

“Cheap take out
And the food taste pretty good but very salty tho.
I like their broccoli beef or broccoli chicken.
Their fried chicken wings good too.
Crispy outside, very juicy inside.
And they got lunch special special around $6-8 with a drink.
Not bad at all!“

“There’s something incredibly comforting and nourishing about a good coconut chicken hotpot, and Coco Hotpot 皇椰鸡 delivers that experience beautifully. We ordered the Coconut Chicken Set for 2, which came with a half portion of fresh cage-free chicken, your choice of noodles or rice of your choice, and a vegetable platter filled with corn, winter melon, napa cabbage, lettuce, and enoki mushrooms all slowly cooked in fresh coconut water. The portion was honestly perfect for me and my boyfriend satisfying, balanced, and filling without feeling overly heavy. If you want more, they also offer plenty of add-ons to customize your hotpot further.
What makes this style of hotpot so unique is its history and philosophy. Coconut chicken hotpot originates from Hainan cuisine, where food is known for emphasizing freshness, clean flavors, and natural ingredients rather than relying heavily on oil or intense spice. Unlike traditional hotpots that focus on rich broths or chili oils, Hainan-style coconut chicken soup highlights the sweetness of fresh coconut water paired with high-quality chicken. Coconut water naturally contains subtle sweetness and minerals, which creates a lighter and healthier broth that still feels deeply flavorful and comforting.
The experience itself felt very thoughtful and authentic. The server prepares everything tableside for you, which made the meal feel even more special. They first pour the fresh coconut water into the pot and bring it to a gentle boil before adding the chicken. As the chicken cooks, they carefully skim away the scum from the top to keep the broth crystal clear and clean tasting a traditional cooking technique that helps preserve the purity and delicate flavor of the soup.
The chicken turned out incredibly tender, juicy, and naturally flavorful from simmering in the coconut broth. You can truly taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Once we added the vegetables, the soup became even better. The corn released extra sweetness into the broth, the napa cabbage softened and added depth, winter melon gave the soup a refreshing and cooling quality, while the enoki mushrooms brought a subtle earthy umami flavor. By the end, the broth develops into this naturally sweet, savory, and aromatic soup that tastes so comforting yet surprisingly light and healthy.
We chose udon noodles instead of rice, and it was absolutely the right choice. The thick chewy noodles soaked up all that flavorful coconut chicken broth beautifully. Every bite felt warm, silky, fresh, and incredibly satisfying.
They also have a sauce bar available if you want to customize your dipping sauces, though it does come at an additional charge. Personally, the broth itself was already so flavorful that it barely even needed sauce, but it’s a nice option if you enjoy mixing garlic, scallions, soy sauce, chili, or sesame-based dips with your hotpot.
This meal leaves you feeling nourished rather than overly full. Refreshing, healthy, authentic, and genuinely delicious. I also love that their menu offers many other traditional soups and coconut-based hotpots to explore, which makes me excited to come back and try more next time. Definitely a spot worth revisiting if you enjoy clean flavors, comforting soups, and high-quality ingredients.“

“It almost pains me to write a review here because it’s such a hidden gem for NYC but this is probably the best Peking duck restaurant in the city. The food is so authentic (trust me I was just in China). The other dishes are also a hit. Dishes are very flavourful without the heavy saltiness or MSG feeling you get in many Asian restaurants. The vibes feel very homey but the food quality is supreme. I think it’s family-run so I love supporting local business!“

“THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I' VE EVER HAD IN NEW YORK. FIRST,we are in line to wait for a table. A couple left and a 50 year old like woman waitress asked us to sit. But then, we were told by another young waitress to leave the table cuz the table should be for another couple. Ok we gave the seats to them. But I heard that old waitress said we lied to her that we were the next customer for seats. I was angry. Then we got the seats after we were called. Unfortunately we got the seats but we sat right next to that couple. That man kept noticing us and murmuring to the woman. They kept verbally abusing us with all bad words. I felt uncomfortable. I could hear that old lady waitress said sth bad about us to the young waitress. After they left, we ready to check out. The young waitress had ignored us like two times amd even she put her back facing to us and just pretended not to hear anything. I was like#%^*+-/^*+=[{{%^}*{+!!!! Finally that waitress came over with fake smile after I said I would not go there anymore. I gave them tips and they kept saying thank you and I just ignored them. My announcement: I definitely won't step in there any more in my life!!! The service is THE WORST and MEAN, that old lady waitress kept making people around misunderstood us and jut did not admit her fault. This person is not Honest and just pushed responsibility on other innocent customers which made us felt bad and sad!!! So frustrated as being same as Chinese, they behaved in this such a way!!! We order some food and they just tasted not as good as we expected. Just normal food which you can definitely get something better somewhere else!!! WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A GOOD MOOD YO EAT!!! IT WILL RUIN YOUR DAY!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDING "LIKE CAFE" with the worst service I've ever received in my life!!!!“

“Had such an amazing dinner at Hong Kong Gourmet 避风塘 in Flushing (144-20 Northern Blvd). The food was so good — from the perfectly steamed fish with scallions, to the crispy roast meats, salt & pepper crab, braised sea cucumber, and even the fried pigeon 😋. Every dish are so good, flavorful, fresh, and cooked just right. We ended the night with bowls of warm red bean soup, the perfect sweet finish. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re craving authentic Cantonese flavors. Already thinking about what I’ll try next time!“

“Had a great time here with some friends for lunch. We got several dim sum items and then lunch specials which we shared. The lunch specials come with a soup that is so delicious - the broth was just unbelievable. Service was fine. The value is great! We spent less than $25 per person for our little lunch feast. I would definitely go here again.“

“I came to Cha Kee to eat on a Saturday afternoon. There was no wait! If you see a line outside, it’s most likely because of the neighboring Mei Lai Wah bakery, which you can walk past and go directly to the counter inside to get seated. The restaurant interior is clean and spacious, with plenty of seating, though some tables are connected, meaning parties could be seated close together. We were seated at a private booth and quickly ordered. I had the HK-style milk tea with ice, and it was strong and tasted amazing. The hot version was also pretty good. I think the condensed milk addition really sets this drink apart from other types of milk tea, and Cha Kee used a strong tea blend, really making this drink perfect. I ate the baked spaghetti, which is my go-to at HK cafes. Meanwhile, the stir fried rice noodles with squid was also delicious and perfectly seasoned. I also enjoyed a side of the peanut butter and condensed milk toast, but I think it could use more peanut butter and condensed milk to make it taste even better. I would highly recommend Cha Kee to anyone looking for a traditional HK cafe experience.“

“If you know what’s authentic, come, the duck and geese is exactly how they made it in Guangdong. It is actually shocking how they can get it so right. If you don’t know what’s up, keep your distance and stop leaving bad review because your tastes lack variety or they did not give you a fine dinning experience. This is a 10 dollar meat over rice place ffs“

“The food at this newly opened restaurant was excellent. My family of 15 ate here for the Mid-Autumn festival and ordered a variety of dishes- including a salted fish fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, pan fried flounder, etc. All were excellent. The service is standard. The restaurant also got really loud so it was difficult to hear across the table.“

“Confused by previous reviews that state no one eats here anymore, as sitting here at lunchtime on a recent weekday showed a flurry of both delivery orders and dine-in customers. The menu is for sure pan-Asian/reflective of American-Chinese dishes, but also serves some specifically Chinese dishes, such as a few dim sum favorites that are harder to find unless you're at a Cantonese restaurant. Lunch special is a great deal with sizeable portions. Love that they keep the fridge stocked with desserts (believe some of them are from Vegan Treats?) and often have additional off-menu homemade items for sale at the counter or in the fridge, including ones related to Chinese cultural holidays. Always glad to support this small family-run business and have personally found their food to be consistent for the wide range of what they're cranking out of their kitchen! Hope they keep sticking around for years to come, as it's a great vegan option in this immediate area. Updated from previous review on 2026-03-01“

“Just ate here for dinner and had to review it right away! Hope this place can stay open, the prices are so affordable…which is just what we need in this impending recession…onto the food…we ordered a cauliflower dish, the Taiwanese sausage clay pot rice and the premium pepper beef clay pot rice. The rice on the bottom was toasted REALLY well! Super crunchy and tasty! Flavors were great and we had leftovers to take home for tomorrow’s lunch. Great spot.“
