“If you’re in the Bronx and love Vietnamese food, you are in for a treat. This place is easily one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in New York. The pho is so flavorful and filling especially with the beef and pickled vegetables. The rice and pork with fresh vegetables is so good. The rice goes so well with the crunchy vegetables and the grilled pork chop. Overall, this place is so good.“

“The Manhattan Viet food game has recently stepped up and Ly Ly has to be one of the best.
Com Tom/Vietnamese Pork Chop Rice or Hawker Rice as it’s called on the menu - 💯 Must Try. The best in the City. I’ve missed com tom done right - the egg cake is essential!! 97% of places don’t do it, 3% don’t do it well. The pork was not greasy at all which also tends to happen.
Turmeric Dill Fish - this is my first time trying this dish and it was SO. GOOD. Fish cooked perfectly.
On a 1pm Saturday, our party of 2 was seated quite quickly and the food came out quickly which was a pleasant surprise.
As a SoCal transplant Ly Ly measures up to my favs in LA/OC.
Looking forward to coming back.“

“This place is cozy and makes for a nice place to go out with friends, dates or even alone! I went in by myself and tried their banh mi, which despite not being like what you would find in a typical Vietnamese spot, was super tasty and I highly recommend it. Use my photo as evidence of how good it is, I ate half of it before I finally took a photo, haha. The bread itself was soft, it tasted fresh, and the filling wasn't overly spicy or bland, it was just right. The baked goods looked tempting and I might have to try them next time.
Service wise, they're great. The staff will let you know how long you'll wait for items and they are good at what they do, both in the front facing customers and in the back prepping.“

“A cute place with really good food, affordable prices, and kind service. Relaxed and able to hear the people I'm with. My only gripe was that the caramelized sharable salmon was overdone and fishy one time. I've loved several pho, noodle, curry, appetizer and rice dishes, and so have the many people I've taken here. I never ordered the salmon again.“

“Absolutely loved my meal at JoJu UES! I ordered the bulgogi bowl and added the lemongrass chicken - both were fantastic.
The bulgogi completely stole the show - it was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The chicken was delicious as well, and they were very generous with the portions of both proteins.
The bowl was filling, flavorful, and a great value. I’ll definitely be back.“

“Chef Papa was the perfect place for our wedding reception!
We can't say enough good things about Chef Papa and its incredible staff for hosting our wedding reception. Every guest left happy, and so did we.
**John** deserves special recognition. He spent so much time helping us plan, meeting with us a few times a week and answering every request quickly. He made sure every detail was handled, and he's a wonderfully creative problem solver who turned one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning into something smooth and enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful, more patient and more generous partner.
The whole staff was attentive and warm throughout the night. Chef Papa himself (John's dad!) even made us special appetizers that weren't on the menu, and the team even offered us complimentary fruit platters. They also let us stay 30 extra minutes so our guests could take photos, which meant so much to us.
And the food! Generous portions, a huge variety of appetizers, made-to-order entrées in big servings, and two kinds of dessert. Guests kept coming up to tell us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. One said he never knew Vietnamese food could be so diverse, interesting and delicious. We were so proud to share it with everyone.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with lovely natural, green, Vietnamese-inspired decor that made a perfect backdrop for our celebration.
Thank you, John, Chef Papa, and the entire team, for making our wedding day unforgettable. We highly recommend Chef Papa to anyone planning a wedding or special event!“

“I was in the area and I come there for Korean food but happened to notice this place stating Korean Vietnamese food and was a little skeptical. I am Vietnamese and do speak Vietnamese and know the Vietnamese names for the dishes. This woman knew how to make vietnamese food with her Korean flare, just didn't know the names understandable. I inquired about one dish the call Bun Cha and is actually with Bun the skinny rice noodles and flattened pork meatballs and actually was made famous by president Obama visiting Hanoi, a Northern Vietnamese dish and not cold dipping noodles as they say that's a Korean dish.“

“Finding a genuinely great banh mi right now is like finding a legal parking spot in NYC, highly contested, and an absolute miracle when you finally do. Banh Mi TBD is that miracle.
While half the city is trying to reinvent the sandwich with bizarre trendy fusions, this place respects the foundations. The baguette has that perfect, violent crunch that will aggressively exfoliate the roof of your mouth, while the inside is packed with the exact right ratio of savory meats to fresh, pickled veggies. Do yourself a favor and stick with the Classic, paired with a Vietnamese iced coffee. Fair warning on the coffee: it’s so strong you might vibrate into another dimension, or at least finally get all your errands done in record time.
If you're hunting for the real deal, want actual authentic flavors, this is the spot.“

“Huong Xuan was recommended by my boyfriend, who had it on his must-go list. From the moment we arrived, I understood why he likes it so much. The staff recognized him right away and even remembered what he usually likes and when his last visit was!! That kind of personal attention made the whole experience feel so special.
We ordered pork chops and spring rolls, as far as I remember, and everything was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the food. 😄
I truly believe that you can find good food in many places, but when you combine great food with genuinely kind people, it turns a restaurant into the kind of place where you always want to come back to!“

“Found a solid spot inside LIC Food Hall — Pho Vital 🍜
They have lots of options and combo meals that are actually worth it. We got the lemongrass chicken rice and grilled pork vermicelli, both super flavorful and surprisingly light. The chicken was so juicy and well marinated, and everything came with fresh veggies on the side.
Also tried the warm ginger apple tea and Thai tea — both hit the spot. Perfect place for a refreshing meal when NYC weather gets hot ☀️“

“This is a quiet gem at 91st St & 2nd Avenue. The banh mi - pork, chicken, beef - all 3 are very good - (i don't need to go to chinatown for banh mi anymore). Pho Beef was the best in UES. We also enjoy the pad thai! It is a must try for Upper Upper Eastsiders.“

Got amazing service for my takeout order. The woman taking my order answered all of my questions and they immediately began working on my order. Once I ordered, she immediately walked to the back to make the coffee I ordered.
I also always feel at ease when I see staff taking their lunch break inside. One person (out of many!l was taking their break, and they were enjoying the food.“

“It’s a no frills venue but the food is authentic, great quality and really tasty. Also pretty cheap. I’m actually annoyed I’ve lived in the area for 2 years already and no eaten here before. I’m officially a regular now. It’s definitely a takeaway kind of place, but it’s right by the park you can’t go wrong.“
“Absolutely obsessed with this place! One of my favorite options in Whitestone. I haven't tried much bc once I find a fav I stuck w it. I always get the yellow curry over black rice. It's truly guilt free indulgence! Their Thai mint salad is also delicious if you crave something lighter.“

“Stopped by and tried a pho special here, the soup was absolutely amazing, the beef tendons and shanks inside are stewed very tender and soft, which was my favorite. As someone who likes pho and tried several Vietnamese restaurants before, this pho was absolutely one of most top delicious. Will definitely return next time to try other dishes.“

“Stumbled into this spot by chance, and they served me some of the best seafood pho my spirit has ever met. The flavors felt like a warm drumbeat in the chest. The artwork on the walls carried echoes of African pieces, giving the space a familiar soul. “Dined in on this Pho Grand location's grand opening day. The food was consistent with what I had gotten from the Bayside location- no complaints here. The service was friendly, but disorganized which I won't blame them for as it was their first day in operation. Would dine-in frequently!
Edit: As of recently, the noodles in the pho have been either overcooked or too starchy. I hope the kitchen is able to resolve this matter soon!“

“I DIDNT TAKE A PHOTO OF THE PHO BECAUSE WE WERE IN SHOCK AND ATE IT SO FAST. Guys the quality difference is real. The spring roll ratio was amazing. Small menu, everything done right, this broth wasn’t full of the msg, salty, overly fake umami beef broth flavor - The moment u walk in you can literally smell all the toasted spices! And the broth guys. We took one sip and could not stop drinking the broth. It is the best in NYC we’ve had.“

“This is probably the best food stall in Tangram’s food court. The food is ok, but the original location in Elmhurst was much better. They have mainly teenagers working here, so the service and quality is sometimes questionable. Nevertheless, all they really need to do is assemble the sandwiches or bowls with pre-cooked ingredients, so the risk isn’t too high. But for the price, and considering the other food stalls aren’t good, Joju is the best option in this food court.“

“I rarely leave reviews online. But I must say. This place is amazing!! I got shredded chicken banh mi, papaya salad, iced coffee and desert. They all tasted absolutely delicious!! Papaya salad veggies were super fresh. And the portion size?? AMAZING!! recently portion sizes at restaurants sizeably decreased especially for salads. But this place surprised me!! The baguette for the bread was also fresh and light and was toasted to perfection. Deliver was right on time! Which is a whole another level of skill in nyc. Thanks to everyone working there and keep up the good work!! I'm so glad to have found this place. I will be a regular!“

“4.8/5- definitely coming back.
I come to this place often for a good bowl of pho at a good price.
Only critique is that sometimes the beef slices are not that tender . Otherwise no complaints.
Solid portion sizes, delicious cuts of tender meat. Soup warms the soul, clean environment, and good service.“

“It is such a good viet restaurant. It is probably the best one I have ever tasted! When I order the chicken or pork noodle soup, it is so good. I love how rich and tasty the soup is. I love how when I take the meat from the noodles it is so good. I love the service. The people are so kind and most times they bring the food out fast. It is a self service restaurant so no tipping is needed unless you want to give one and you do need to get your own utensils. It is such a great restaurant to eat and I would definitely recommend it to you. Try it today!“
