“My opinion is 8.7/10. Is it the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had? No but overall our place that makes handmade Jamaican beef patties with a good overall flavor I recommend it. Best thing definitely has to be the crust I just wish for $3 it was a little bit more meat / seasoning. Check out my in depth video reviews on any of the platforms below. Nuff a the food were finished(sold out) but we got the pepper steak w/rice&peas and raw vegetables (shredded carrots and cabbage, love it!) and sweet chilie wings w/rice and peas. Firstly, rice and peas can eat by itself! Well nice!! She wanted oxtail but it was basically done but server(wish i got her name) gave us the few small pieces with the gravy to her rice. Looking forward to trying their curry goat. Represent Jamaican food lovely, support!!“

“I had a great experience! Anthony, the Front Counter Associate, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I felt welcomed in this new Bronx establishment. His coworkers each greeted with a warm smile and with equal professionalism and personality. This establishment brings an authentic business culture that welcomes diversity.

I ordered two spinach patties and two mild spicy beef patties. All patties were consistent with flavor. The patty shells were soft, flaky and light. The filling needs to be more generous. I did notice that the filling and the shell were balanced, so that is why I gave it a 5-star rating. I think if there is more additional filling, then the patty shell needs to be thicker.

The coworkers did say that I would be back...and I will LOL

“I hadn’t been to this area in about six years, and the last time I was here, this spot was a Golden Krust. Coming back after so long, I went looking for an old favorite and ended up finding a new one — Juici Patties!
The patties here are truly amazing. Tonya was such a welcoming and friendly face when I stopped by for the first time. She helped me decide what to try and assured me everything was delicious — she wasn’t lying!
After grabbing lunch on my break that day, I was hooked. I’ve easily been back for at least ten patties since! I stop by during lunch and sometimes even before heading home. The ingredients are always fresh, and the fillings are packed with flavor.
The house-made juice is also a must-try — perfectly sweet and refreshing.
If you’re anywhere near Downtown Brooklyn, do yourself a favor and take the walk. You might just find your new addiction, too.
Thank you, Juici Patties (and Tonya), for the incredible food and great vibes!“

Lovely little spot for a late night meal! The cashier was very pleasant with a great attitude. I came by after finding my Airbnb and ordered 3 empanadas: Jerk Chicken, Salmon, & Oxtail. This is not a standard menu option, but she told me I could mix and match :)

I loved it!!! WONDERFULLY tasty food and a perfect crisp to the empanadas - not too hard and not too soft/mushy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!“

This is NOT the future of ecommerce. This company does not CARE and will NOT deliver. Their AI customer service falsifies claims for delivery estimates to give you hope, when in reality, no progress is being made. And it will NOT use technology. It doesn't own a single sorting machine. It's all manual! That's why your package is stuck with thousands of others. They close the door on you because its a mess, its such a mess. Read their reviews on TrustPilot, BBB (they are not accreditted), here.“

“I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

It was truly the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a very very long time and it was thanks to our waiter Jesus. He was very attentive and helpful. He saw that we had small children and helped us with their order first and then proceeded to take the rest of our orders. He really loved his job and was very warm and kind. The establishment as a whole is very nice and classy. Very grown and sexy. The music is perfect and the food was very good! The oxtail Lo Mein was so good. Its located inside Hotel Indigo, to the right after entering. I really really loved this experience. Thank you so much. I'll be back with my girlfriends or on a date❤️🙏🏽 A new staple spot for me.“

“My husband loves getting breakfast here when he is going to work. The food taste delicious and the staff is very polite. They offer jamaican cuisine. You can get curry chicken back, jerk chicken, fish, goat, oxtail, rice and peas, white rice, boiled food/ ground provision, steamed and fresh veggies, baked goods, festival, fritters, soup and porridge. This morning I got steamed calaloo & saltfish with fried dumplings and plantains. Hubby got white rice and curry chicken back. The restaurant can get a little crowdy and you may have to wait a few minutes to be served, but it's worth the wait. Also there is no parking lot available but you can find parking on the street easily. They also sell freshly squeeze juice. Overall I highly recommend them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.“

“I went in expecting dinner. I left questioning the very concept of reality.

First, the building itself seems to have been constructed in a parallel universe where architects hate humans. The walls were misaligned, the ceiling sagged like it was mourning, and a single, flickering light overhead created shadows that seemed to whisper, “Why are you here?” The entrance mat was sticky—like a portal designed to trap souls. My shoes protested violently as I stepped on it, and I briefly considered amputating my feet just to escape the adhesive horror.

Once inside, the air assaulted me. It smelled like wet newspapers left in a closet with a single shoe and the faint regret of a thousand broken dreams. My lungs burned, my sinuses flared, and I swear I could hear the air itself groaning in despair. A ceiling fan rotated at the speed of glacial movement, stirring despair into the already tragic atmosphere.

I sat down on a chair that had clearly been passed down from the Stone Age. When I shifted my weight, it emitted a series of sounds—cracks, pops, groans—that could be interpreted as a complex language of suffering. The table wobbled like it was testing my patience. There were stains on the surface in patterns reminiscent of ancient constellations—but instead of stars, they were old spaghetti sauce.

The menu looked like it had been printed during a war. Pages were torn, faded, damp, and one was inexplicably sticky with something I refused to identify. The handwriting of the specials appeared to have been scrawled by a frenzied raccoon in a creative rage. Dishes included “Mystery Meat Surprise,” “Something That Probably Was Once Food,” and “Chef’s Emotional Breakdown Platter.”

I chose the safest item: soup. The bowl arrived lukewarm. The liquid quivered as if it had consciousness, and the aroma was simultaneously pungent, metallic, and vaguely apologetic. I took a sip and experienced a flavor so complex that my brain short-circuited: notes of sadness, despair, and wet cardboard intermingled with a hint of existential dread. I pushed the bowl away and wept quietly into my napkin.

Attempting to use the bathroom was another saga. The door would not open without a Herculean effort. The floor was sticky. The sink produced a trickle that sounded like a dying animal. The mirror was scratched and fogged, making me look like a character from a psychological horror movie. The toilet barely functioned. I am certain the plumbing was designed as a social experiment in futility.

The staff, when they appeared, moved as if they were in slow motion, trapped in a parallel reality where human interaction was optional. Asking for water took fifteen minutes. Asking for the check took twenty-three. My existence was tested. My patience was burned to ash.

When finally escaping, I felt sunlight as if it were a spiritual intervention. Birds chirped in joy. I collapsed on the sidewalk, grateful to be back in the real world.

If this place were a movie, it would be “The Neverending Nightmare: Restaurant Edition.”
If it were a natural disaster, it would be on the Richter scale of 12.
If it were a lesson, it would be “How to Permanently Question All Life Choices.”“

“We were craving some good Jamaican food and we found it! We had an order of Oxtail and Curry Chicken both with Rice & Peas as well as Sweet Plantains. Everything we had was very authentically Jamaican, I should know because my ex husband was from there and his dear Mom was a great chef; therefore, I am spoiled when it comes their cuisine! Also as a Cuban I know about plantains and the ones we experience there were close to perfection. Service was excellent everyone very helpful with a smile and great attitude, the bartender fixed me a delicious and beautiful Lychee Martini, sorry I forgot to take a picture! Thank you guys Akeen, Flori, Casey, Jorge, Jerkie, Karin who I believe it was her who came out of the restaurant to bring me my scarf that I have left behind. “Here my new way of trying out new restaurants, use an app for food “Too good to let go”
Food is good. I haven’t been here for a long time. I been going to G’s for 20+ years. Amazing food. The owner is very nice. One of the lady staff need some lessons on costumer service.“

“Anyway, I went on TikTok craving a good plate of jerk chicken and we all know Tik Tok is an amazing guide. I saw a video about irie jerk and KNEW I had to try it the same day. And I did. Since then I have been a regular at irie jerk. I have always had a great experience and my chicken is always up to par. I truly appreciate the copious amounts of sauces available! My favorite combo is the sweet chill and chilli jerk. It gives me the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. Since the closing of the jerk spot on church and 94th I haven’t found a place that gives the same jerk chicken taste it was popular for until I found irie jerk.

After reading all of the reviews, let me say the time of day in which you purchase food makes a big difference at ANY and EVERY food establishment. There are busy days and there are slow days. This will directly affect the food quality. Additionally food is subjective, what I look for in jerk chicken may not be what the next person looks for.

Nonetheless, I am a proud patron of Irie Jerk!“

“food is delicious but i think they could use less oil to make their food -- it would definitely taste better

also v suprised they dont make their own hot sauce -

overall great food and a good foundation but if they wanted to double their visitors they would do the above, along with reducing the price by lb slightly.^“

“Don’t know why this has mixed reviews cause my experience was pretty decent, portions were good, service was excellent, the lady who served me went above and beyond to get me a nice plate and the food was good as well rice and peas with oxtail, the rice was soft and the meat was tender and juicy, absolutely no complaints, will come back to try their jerk chicken which they had ran out for the day when I came in, keep up the good work!“

“$ Classic Jamaican food, loved the fried dumplings and salt fish in the morning, had a great conversation with the cashier, excellent local spot, great customer service. I’m from Brooklyn so I take pride in the places uptown that can deliver a more authentic Caribbean cuisine experience without breaking the bank on pricing.“

“For Thanksgiving dinner we ordered a large pan of j*** salmon and a pan of Rasta pasta. The pasta was amazing and the salmon was even better! They don’t serve you small pieces of salmon... they were meaty! And made for great leftovers. When I visit New York again, Island Choiz will definitely be a go to.“
