“The food was cooked to perfection texture is perfect I must say and the staff is friendly and attentive so the service gets a five-star unfortunately the food doesn't quite hit like a Jamaican spot should the flavors aren't their. it is good don't get me wrong but it is lacking that Jamaican passion those hole in the wall spots have.“

“Quality Jamaican food in Brooklyn Heights! The food is consistent I think I've tried everything on the menu. The meat just falls off the bone and is seasoned to perfection. The Oxtail, Stew Chicken, Rasta Pasta you name it they all are delightful. A party in your mouth at a reasonable price you just can't beat it. I really wanted to Gate Keep this one but its so good others need to try it.“

“Absolutely one of the best jerk chicken lunch I’ve ever had in years. My mother ate their Oxtail stew dish and it was delicious too. Full flavoured food with excellent quality & portion. Friendly helpful staff are also welcoming. I bought the fried whiting fish fillets and some fried chicken wings to take home. Will definitely be back again to eat all the other dishes! Yummy ? proper jerk chicken with rice & beans that were moist not dry like other places we’ve tried in Manhattan.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access street level entrance that will accommodate wheelchairs and rollators. No steps inside the restaurant.“

“I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

“Food is excellent. I wish it was a little bigger. Lunch time the line is long they need more room. In the back the cook need more room as well. Excellent seafood soup ,whole fish dinner must try. All the soups are great. Good food . Eat there 2 or 3 times a week.“

“Food tastes great. Prices are reasonable. My only two issues:
1.) Every time I come in here they never have Rasta Pasta whether I come in early morning or later in the day 😭 So it would be more honest to take that off the menu altogether.
2.) They need better containers. My food always arrive messily. The bag is soaked and ready to fall apart. Please change containers.“

“I usually get jerk chicken there and patties. These are the ones I like to buy there. The other food are good too but, I have my preferences. Just jerk chicken, not the meal . Long time ago, I used to buy fish there but,it became too hot/ spicy for me to digest.“

“I recently visited Country Kitchen, and it was just okay. The food was decent, but nothing really stood out as amazing. The service was fine, but the overall experience didn’t leave a strong impression. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for something casual, but I think there are other spots in the area that offer a bit more in terms of flavor and atmosphere.“

“Having lived in Brooklyn for over a decade, I’ve had my fair share of jerk chicken, from various places - hole in the walls, fancy restaurants, carts, and of course, backyards. Hits and misses. I have my one sacred, tried and true jerk chicken spot that never fails me. However, I saw this place as I was walking to my job and I decided to give them a try. One of the best decisions I’ve made all year.
The jerk chicken here is incredible. Watching them cook it up fresh was a unique experience while the chef was detailing the history of the restaurant and how amazing the price and portion you actually get for it. Little did I know, the chef, a lovely and kind Bajan woman would be cooking up one of the best bites I’ve had all year.
Don’t know where you’ll get that amount of chicken for $7, and a free slice of bread? Which seems to be a lost relic for jerk spots nowadays. It’s hard to beat that value, especially in this financial climate.
The chicken itself was tender, yet cooked through with that traditional grill texture but still moist. The meat was flavorful and had that classic char but it did not carry a BURNT flavor. One thing that did set them apart from all the other jerk spots I’ve been too? The sauces. I forgot to count, but I believe they had over 10 different sauces. I rarely put sauce on my jerk chicken, cause in my opinion, the best jerk chicken has no sauce. All the flavor should come from the meat and seasonings. But I couldn’t resist. All in all.. this might be my new favorite spot. Even though I did cover it in 3 different sauces.. the flavor was still there.
I plan to come back, for the large next time and I’ll cover half in sauce and leave the other half dry.
Long story short…One of the best pure jerk chicken spots in ALL of NY. Please give these great people a try!“

“Been coming to Melting Pot for years. The food is always solid and consistent. I haven’t tried anything from here that I don’t like. Jerk chicken and oxtail is always fresh and flavorful. They make a fresh pineapple ginger juice that’s amazing. Everyone I’ve brought here always enjoy the food.“

“I’ve always passed this restaurant on my way to Carvel which is located next door and decided to stop in because I had a taste for oxtails. The server was very pleasant which made me felt good about the restaurant and food. I must say I haven’t had a oxtail dinner like that in a long time, from the rice to the veggies and the plantains which had a wonderful kick not like a regular sweet plantain it had a nice little Spivey spice to it. I look forward to going back to try a few more of their dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant and you can also dine in the serene clean atmosphere. That’s why I’ve given it 4stars. Try it for yourself“

“This is a great place to eat. Vendors are friendly and food is really good. The j*** chicken was my favorite (really hot, yes!) and the rice is soft, well cooked. They also have a variety of salad mix. The potato salad was really good. I'm not a fish eater but even the seafood smell good. Price is reasonable, I think it's 9$ a pound but less money if the weight is less. It's definitely worth it.
Vegetarian options: They have a variety of mixes for salad.“

“I Ordered the Large Oxtails and J*** BBQ Chicken . Both dishes were good and definitely worth the detour we took to get there. Oxails wasn't tough, it was almostmeltingin my mouth. The server was very nice and was ok with answering my questions. So service 5, taste food 5 but the decor of the store is definitely a 2. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong. it's a good store and I would definitely eat here a million more times.“

“Sometimes I’m like “hm I should go vegetarian” and then I have a meal like this and I take it right back!
Took pics because I knew it’d be good… Had no clue what I had in store.
They were out of jerk chicken and curry chicken, so I got the stew chicken. THANK GOD. Chicken was soooooo good, so soft, so buttery. Rice & beans I swallowed in heaving spoonfuls. The plantains??? Oh my god, soft, some a tad crispy, sweet perfection.
The first of many trips <3“
