“We arrived with a reservation and were seated immediately. Our food was very good and prepared as ordered. Prices were vey reasonable and service was pretty good. It was a bit difficult to converse but worth the slight inconvenience. We'll return for the food and prices.“

“Very nice ambiance, but definitely not my cup of tea. I think the dishes were reasonably creative and didn’t taste bad, but I think nothing really stood out. Chao mian decent, chicken not bad. For what we ended up paying it felt a bit expensive, but not a bad spot if you’re looking for a nice date spot.“

“Upon arrival you’re introduced to Grandma’s Home with it’s beautiful and immersive decor honoring Chinese culture. The tableware is intentional as well, where the chopstick rests are carved to represent the 12 different animals from the Chinese zodiac.
Their food is homey yet unique, all the classic dishes you would want with a modern twist. If you like century egg, I recommend that for appetizer. The sauce has a tanginess to it that contrasts the creaminess of the egg. My favorite was their seafood fried rice, each grain cooked to golden perfection. It’s hard to find good fried rice in nyc but they do it brilliantly. The black pepper, pork belly, and salted yolk were good as well. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes to be honest. Lastly, we finish off our meal with coconut pudding with red bean paste and guava and coconut shaved ice. However, I do believe their dessert changes every so often.
The servers could be slightly faster and more attentive but they make it up with the atmosphere and food.“

“Got the brand sampler. A meal for $19.60.
Here’s what I thought of each item
Har gow / shrimp siu mai - 3/5, hard to get wrong, just didn’t love it, even with the soy sauce.
Chicken siu mai - 5/5, was my favorite
Sticky rice wrap - 1/5, mushroom and sticky rice was not my favorite
BBQ pork bun - 1/5, wasn’t my thing
Crispy shrimp roll - 4/5, pretty good“

“If you want to sit in a very crowded place, this is the place to go. The food was fine. They messed up our order and acted like they were upset that we said anything but the food is good.“

“I unfortunately get the hype…
The outer layer of the pineapple bun is super buttery and crispy and the the bun itself is soft and fluffy. The pork inside is tender and was sweeter than I expected but it pairs so well with the little saltiness on the pineapple bun crust.
Super addicting, super delicious! Great for a quick bite when in Chinatown!“

“😍My very first time here. I was served by Jason, food captain. I guess I was spoiled by his hospitality because I tell you, WHEN I return, if I not being served by him, I'm not going. Every now and again you come across a server who truly enjoys making people fell comfortable, that's Jason, in a nutshell. The food was extraordinary, complimented by spectacular recommendations and hospitality!!!!“

“Ok so I love Din Tai Fung, I’ve been to it in Taiwan. The location here is really beautiful, I like the service and the atmosphere. However, if I were to compare it to Taiwans Din Tai Fung it does fall short of the taste of the noodles and wonton soup 😭 The chocolate xiao long Bao’s were really really good! Better than I expected. The normal xiao long Bao’s are good too but a bit dry on the top. The wonton soup had no taste though. The bok choy was very yummy and the cucumber salad tasted the same as how I remembered it in Taiwan too. But like they do charge more here so I did expect it to be the same or better!“

“10/8/25
We were in the neighborhood for an appointment and decided to stop for lunch.
BBQ Ribs are delicious, most Chinese restaurant makes them but are usually tough but these were tender and so flavorful. I wish they were near home hehehe.
Peking Duck, while it was super crispy outside and tender inside it was not seasoned. Without the hoisin sauce it would have been a waste of money...
Bok Choy with Garlic is delicious, I wish I could make it this good hehehe.
If we are ever in the area we would definitely go back.
Lots of pig related decorations, cute! Hehehe“

“One of the authentic NYC Chinese restaurant off the beaten path .
The lobster noodles was $30+, a great deal. We had the chicken and ang choy veggies. Bill came up to $100 with tip added.
It was a lot more food than we can take.
It was a great spot!“

“An establishment for the elderly. the entrance is so crowded with junk that it feels like the restaurant is trying to hide itself from the general public. Recently, I’ve been trying to hide less, reach out to people, be optimistic, excited, I ordered way too much food. The eggs over rice was good, the roast pork rice roll ok, I actually liked the coffee, love is easy.“

“You don't go for the surroundings. You go for the spectacular dumplings and steamed buns. The menu is very small, only 7 items, and nothing is vegetarian. They focus on sweet and meaty steamed buns, packed with flavor and so so juicy.
Best part...nothing is more than $5!“

“I am obsessed with sichuan food, and found this place to be delicious! I was dining solo, so I was only able to try one dish, but the dry pot chicken was phenomenal. Juicy chicken, tasty vegetables, and strong-but-not-overwhelming spice. You will not regret a visit here.“

“I come to Excellent Dumpling from uptown because it's a special place -- the food is fresh and flavorful, and the service is excellent. Bowie is always especially kind and welcoming -- she remembers my name when I call, and always asks after my family. She and the whole restaurant are true NYC gems!“

“Low key lunch spot for dim sum, noodles and dumplings. Tasty food with GF and vegan options, accommodating with switching out noodles to make a dish GF. We have both in our family so I was able to get us all a delicious lunch. Extra star bc they were kind enough to let me use the bathroom, purchase or not, when the bakery down the street couldn't accommodate after 100+ cake order. Nice to frequent what feels like a family run place.“

“Delicious! I had the wonton noodle soup, and there’s a reason it’s posted in huge letters right outside the restaurant. Wontons were stuffed with large shrimp and pork, SO TASTY and noodles were bouncy and delicious. Happy I stopped by, will definitely be coming back again.“

“Obviously, if a restaurant in NYC is open more than a few months, it's got to have decent food. If a restaurant has been open in NYC for a few years, the food is most likely world class. If a restaurant in NYC has been open for decades, the food has to be world class, and the cost of eating there has to be reasonable. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, traveled the world, this has been my experience.
Nom Wah Tea Parlor has the best Cantonese food I have ever eaten (I have not been to China). The kicker is this, wait for it....
The prices are very reasonable! What??? World class Cantonese Food, in NYC, full belly for 3 people, under $100. best kept secret on the NYC food scene. Bar none!“
