“Rippers is located in a concession area in rockaway beach so it is a fun, Open atmosphere consist of picnic tables outside under a covered area. I find that the food is very good. Burgers chicken fries. I can just have fries .. I think that they are excellent. They used to sale a whole fish that was divine. There are drinks , wine beer. They often play music and have live entertainment.. they typically close in late summer for winter.“

When I finally try that food I just got in shock. Super tasty, delicious, the Trinidad and Dominican Republic flavors- was so down the earth. So thankful to have them at the neighborhood, the service is excellent and Yesenia and her employees super professionals. The ambiance and decoration soo relaxing- I love the food and the service, how they welcome you, is hard to find a place like that. My only complaint would be how noisy the dining areas are- it's a popular place so it's always packed, and the subway tile on the walls bounces the voices and noise. It's also hard to get a table, and reservations are competitive, but it is worth it!“

“I had such a wonderful dining experience here recently. Everything we ordered arrived fresh and full of flavor. The steam rising off the hot skillet was a perfect welcome to the meal, and the lemon slice on top was a nice touch.

The rice and naan were both excellent accompaniments to the main dishes. I especially enjoyed the vibrant green peas in the curry and the beautiful texture of the topped appetizers. It is a fantastic spot to grab a great meal on Grand Street.“

“I love the pizza here, especially on weekends. If I go mid week sometimes it’s not as good.

The service is a bit of a problem for me. While I like going, I frequently feel talked down to by the young women hosting/serving there. There is very little effort put into explaining the menu. I don’t drink, and I see a visible annoyance when we return the drink menu without an order. The person serving me food and pouring water is often a brown busboy. At this rate, I’d rather just put in my order myself. (I hope they tip out to the busboys and back of the house!)

The other day, for a very important occasion w a reservation & note, they made us wait 30 minutes, no apologies and nothing to make up for the wait. I used to go quite often and now feel weird about going.

The atmosphere is confusing. It’s super beautiful inside but the acoustics make it a bit hellish. Some of the worst people of the area get together, screaming loudly, or even talking- and you can’t hear yourself think. But that’s not rly the restaurants fault!“

“We ordered the Duck Shio Soba and Salmon Ikura Soba. The food was overall good. Wished the Duck Shio was sent out hotter as it arrived lukewarm and took quite some time to come out. The Salmon Ikura Soba on the other hand was great and tasted fresh.

Service was alright. I don’t think our server realized we were waiting over 30 minutes for our food. The overall cost was also a bit steep.“

“Traveled from out of town to see a friend but also maybe mostly to eat the spicy chicken katsu that I’ve dreamt of since Mini Mart/Mama Yoshi’s used to be a pop up at All Night Skate and we would go sit outside in the cold and enjoy the food and a cocktail. Moved out of reach in 2022 and my life has not been complete without the sandwhich I’ve evangelized across several countries and continents. The pizza was everything I imagined and more. We were the first ones to order, and it ended up being one of my favorite pizzas I’ve had to date. “Great food and good prices for lunch. Stopped here one day when I was nearby.

The sesame balls here are so good!!! For catering we got veggie low mein, braised pork, bunch of different potstickers, sesame balls, and everything comes with cutlery if needed. They clearly label everything and the packaging is great because they seal all the containers so they don’t spill and the food came warm to eat. 👏🫶🤤

FYI there’s great catering here too! They offer delivery and have a great setup for any event. Will post pics of the catering if I can find them.“

“My mother and Daughter stopped in this beautiful shop after a little shopping at the local thrift store . They had so many healthy options . Fruit and yogurt bowls ,natural juices , immunity shots , smoothies . My mother and I got veggie patties (delicious). My daughter opted for the Salmon bite salad . When that salad came out both me and mother wanted another to share . The shop owners and workers were kind and patient . The store had a lot to offer and the space was neat a clean even while they were working on a batch of immunity shots.

“TL;DR: Food good. Service good. Portion to price ratio not that good. Get the biryani!
The food was well spiced. Portions were not really shareable. The chicken dishes were especially small amounts. The chicken 65($12)and chicken tikka($18) came with 4 small pieces and 5 small pieces respectively. The laccha paratha was also not even actual laccha paratha. With the bad out the way, let’s hear the good.
The service was very good, they take care of you and your needs. The biryani was tasty and the vindaloo had some nice heat to it. All the food was tasty, I didn’t have a bad dish. I would come here again.“

“The food at Djondjon is spot on.... This restaurant is a jewel. The food is amazing, and the hospitality is off the chart. There is free jazz often enough. The quality far surpasses the price. I love their pasta, their fish and their goats which come in various varieties. Their appetizers are yummy. I will continue to patronize this place. I had my Cabrit boukannen ( grilled goat) and it really pleased my taste buds.“

“My food was delicious. I had the 60/40 and fries. The space is cozy and positive. It’s perfect for takeout, but there are a few seats and a counter available inside. Ordering is simple; just use the tablet on the wall. I can’t wait to try new things when I’m in town again! 🍔❤ It was a nice difference compared to what I usually find in Phoenix, AZ.
