“I just went there to get something for lunch, decided to try the lamb fried rice it was delicious restaurant was clean, Overall, staff need proper training. Sorry situation you don’t handle in front of customers or use indecent language. I think the owner needs to look into that more and higher proper delivery men for delivery . It was my first time there, but I think I will go again, but the service needs to upgrade. Kavita was pretty nice. I like the way she speak.“

We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“Ramro was excellent! We had the duck and pork momos, beef longanisa, skate, duck, gnocchi and saag paneer. When it came to dessert, my son asked “can we get another skate?” Flavors were balanced and full and the skate, beef longanisa and momos were the favorites for us. It is very cozy and homey and the service felt like family. Oh, and my watermelon cocktail was excellent too. We are so excited about Ramro being so close and in the neighborhood; this will be our new family favorite.“

The wait was not long to get a table and the service was prompt, professional, courteous, and didn’t leave us in want of anything. All of our needs were met. “Trying to keep this place a hidden gem, because there is too much traffic in the rock already. However! Margie's has one of THE best burgers I have ever had in my entire life and that says a lot because I consider myself a sandwich/burger connoisseur. It's so simple and I believe that's what makes the burger shine. Paired with the atmosphere and the beach town vibes, it's hard for me to go anywhere else when I'm in need of a good burger. The other things I've tried on the menu didn't disappoint but I showed up for a burger and it stole the show for me. My compliments to the chef or recipe creator...whomever.“

The server came to our table not to long after we were seated and took our drink orders. We ordered beers, coffees and Bloody Marys ,which were the star of the show. As for food we ordered the chicken Caesar sandwhich, quiche, chicken liver pate, gigante beans, pancakes and chips with aioli. The star of the show was the chicken liver pate, it had a great rich savory flavor with a hint of sweetness and was served on a nice soft piece of sourdough. The Scottie Pippen of the food order had to be the pancakes, they were savory and sweet with a hint of lemon. The only weak link of the bunch was the under seasoned gignate beans, which had an off day. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a brunch spot in WB or Greenpoint.“

“Solid breakfast burritos and great tortillas, which are like gold here. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu yet, but it’s just a matter of time - the salads look awesome. I moved here from Texas a year ago and love everything about the city (except for the rent), but I do miss Tex Mex and good tortillas. New Mexican is its own cuisine and sure hits the spot while also being healthier, and those tortillas are a game changer. Favorite bite of the night were the sunchokes with fresh parm and pepper sauce. The cheeseburger and risotto were also outstanding and generously portioned. For dessert, our server recommended an unforgettable parsnip sponge cake with a decadent heap of cream cheese buttercream. Last night my reservation for a steakhouse in the city was cancelled so I went to my old faithful. Not a long wait at all and the host periodically checked in as he always does to give me updates and options if I didn’t want to wait for the bar seat. Everything was delicious as usual and the customer next to me was celebrating her birthday I said happy birthday and mentioned it was mines also.

The bartender asked if I wanted dessert and I declined but then she did the sweetest, most thoughtful thing and popped up with ice cream. she’s like you need to blow out a candle today. And also comped a glass of wine(I’m too elderly for shots) and let me tell you this birthday was nothing short of a disaster. which is why I was out eating alone. “We chose Arden for a simple NYE dinner and we're pleasantly surprised that it was much more than that. The oysters were mellow, but the bass ceviche with nuclear cham is required as is the polenta. “This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“I was first introduced to Carla's two years ago and I have been dreaming of both their Hibiscus Margaritas and Grilled Corn Romaine Salad ever since. YES A SALAD!

Happy to say I finally had the opportunity to return for an intimate birthday celebration and everything was just how I remembered it.

Cute and quaint, with good service and food, a great vibe!

Without a doubt I absolutely ordered the roasted corn salad. It has tomatoes, avocado, roasted corn, Romain lettuce, and an amazing dressing. I added the pan seared chicken. The chicken was super flavorful and juicy, and extremely tender, not overdone. The salad was magical just as I remembered it. In addition the guac was fresh and the Hibiscus Margs was a tasty way to wash it all down.

It's amazing how I dream about this salad. It's a good thing I don't live close because I would have no problem factoring in this salad which is a little pricey into an almost daily budget. Lol.

Needless to say I will not be reminiscing about this salad for two years again. I will be back sooner than you think.

“I didn’t expect to like this place as much as I did, but honestly everything we had was delicious. The fried chicken was incredible, but what really surprised me was the chicken and waffle combo — I had no idea that would work so well together, but it absolutely does.

We ordered the Rev. Al Sharpton and the President Obama, plus collard greens and black eyed peas on the side. Both sides were really good, but the black eyed peas stood out for me — super flavorful and comforting. The collard greens were also great and tasted very authentic.

On top of that, the price was more than reasonable for the amount and quality of food we got. Definitely not expensive for what it is.
