“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!“

“Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time or probably ever! I got the French onion, which was a special and it was huge and delicious and really filling. Despite being busy, the owner took their time explaining some of the sandwiches to me and warned me that they were taking a little longer than usual to get orders out, but the wait time felt totally reasonable and definitely worth it. I ate inside, which does have limited seating but that was fine since a lot of people seem to order to go. But it’s not far from Maria Hernandez Park so I’d take my sandwich there next time! Seriously cannot wait to go back. Updated from previous review on 2026-08-08“

“157 Tavern has been a staple in the area for 10 years and is an excellent choice for parties or group gatherings. You can simply provide them with your budget, and they will curate the menu for you, which makes the planning process very convenient.
Regarding the food:
Grilled Spanish Octopus: Highly recommended. The potato pave is delicious, and the octopus is tender with a perfect charred exterior.
Short Rib with Bone Marrow: The meat is very tender and falls apart at the touch of a fork, though I wish the portion of bone marrow was a bit larger.
King Salmon: Quite tender.
Burrata Cheese: Standard/average.
Caramel Flan: Delicious and beautifully presented.
Overall, it is a great spot for a nice dinner.“

“I had such a wonderful dining experience here recently. Everything we ordered arrived fresh and full of flavor. The steam rising off the hot skillet was a perfect welcome to the meal, and the lemon slice on top was a nice touch.
The rice and naan were both excellent accompaniments to the main dishes. I especially enjoyed the vibrant green peas in the curry and the beautiful texture of the topped appetizers. It is a fantastic spot to grab a great meal on Grand Street.“

“A few years ago, I was hired to write a series of articles about regional Italian cuisine. Since then, I have been looking for traditional Italian gelato. Until yesterday, I have been consistently disappointed. But this? It was absolutely EVERYTHING I had dreamed about. The prices weren't ridiculous, the bathroom was PRISTINE, the staff were helpful and friendly and it was incredibly, amazingly delicious. My only complaint is that I live too far away from your stores to get it very often. But about that? My hips are less upset about the distance. :) I will definitely be back, though!“

“If you love ramen this is the place for you.
The ramen here is delicious, rich , full of flavor and best part it taste homemade! The Korean fried chicken is definitely a must try and it has a great amount of heat to it both are 10/10 for sure.
The owner and servers are very nice, welcoming and helpful. If you’re unsure about what to order or need help ordering they’re happy to explain the menu and help you choose.
I 100% recommend this place! Great food , great service and a welcoming atmosphere.“

“First time eating Bolivian food and it was out of this world! Saltenas were rich, juicy, and hearty (start at one end) and the Sopa de Mani is not at all what I expected peanut soup to taste like. think of Rich complex New England clam chowder without the clams. really no peanutty taste at all. the owner was wonderful as well“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“Loved this place! It’s small but packed with vegan speciality groceries and a huge menu of hot sandwiches. It was hard to decide what to order but the staff was nice and helped me choose. I got the focaccia sandwich which was amazing and the perfect size. I also got an iced chai with soy milk. There’s nowhere to eat inside and just one cafe table outside so definitely best to take to go. But it’s so close to Maria Hernandez Park so great for a picnics! “My husband and I had their mushroom chick’n and Mac and cheese and chopped mushroom and cheese. All we could say was WOW! It was incredible for vegans and non-vegan alike. This chef is a mushroom magician creating comfort foods from mushroom and chickpeas. The best part about his food. It’s CLEAN whole food vegan eating. No soy, No seitan which my body does not do good with. So our hats go off to the chef and we highly recommend!“

“We used to frequent the Astoria location which was always so great. The new Manhattan location is no different. Somewhat smaller, but just very cozy and very nice looking. Amazing food as always. The flavors and taste are just the best. No matter what you order you will not go wrong. The service is top notch and Rocco and his staff are just the best at what they do. Just go, you won't regret it.“

“I’ve been coming here since I was 10 years old, 24 years to be exact now, place gets better and better. Very home feel to the shop. A real staple in the community. Lovely family. If you want quality Italian food in Queens/NYC this is where you come to.“
