“Great sandwiches. Good staff. Great hot food. But the prices are unaffordable and at this point as much as I love the food, I won't return ever. Ordered 2 heros. Philly cheese steak and a chicken cutlet hero fresh mutz. 1 order of lasagna about 5 inch square and a tiny rice pudding.
Total price 55 dollars.
Sigh. Smh.
Great store. Great food.
But like I said , absolutely unaffordable
Good things never last.

“It’s a very charming place with great options for vegan and non vegans alike. My father and son had the vegan pasta with meatballs while I had the vegan tacos, my father and son are not vegan. We also opted for some natural smoothies. Needless to say, the food and atmosphere were great, the prices are reasonable and the workers are very nice. Very satisfied ??.“

“Staff is very kind Good vibes from the minute you walk in the place. Happy people happy place.
The food is Ethiopian vegan. No vegan smoothies or mock duck pad Thai but primarily Ethiopian based plant foods. It was something I was interested in trying and they do it well here. No complaints with the food. Be advised though that the food is light so don't expect to walk away with a bloated heavy stomach.
Worth a try for the customer service alone.“

“Here's the review Spencer wrote for you: My family and I just visited to celebrate my grandsons birthday- we like to get a bunch of plates and share family style and this menu was perfect for that. You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! He brought us a candle and we got some great pictures. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.“

“Very impressed since they was decorating the place. I was passing by every day till they finally open and I desire to try the food, I was curious and also I’m not a vegan person. When I finally try that food I just got in shock. Super tasty, delicious, the Trinidad and Dominican Republic flavors- was so down the earth. So thankful to have them at the neighborhood, the service is excellent and Yesenia and her employees super professionals. The ambiance and decoration soo relaxing- I love the food and the service, how they welcome you, is hard to find a place like that. “Had the Rainbow Roll (which had vegan BBQ char siu, tuna, and shrimp), the Peking Duck Bao, and the Ube crème brûlée. All were really great - the Ube crème brûlée was probably the most surpising and interesting. Portions were still pretty big despite these being small plates though! “5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

Exactly what you expect when you picture a diner. No frills, cheap, and exceptionally average food. It gets the job done, with the kind of gritty atmosphere you’d expect from a place that’s been serving neighborhood regulars for years.

I had the cheeseburger, while the person next to me was chowing down on chicken parm and spaghetti. The cheeseburger tasted like it came straight out of the freezer. It reminded me of the kind I used to get at the bowling alley as a kid.

10/10 recommend. Will return.“

I had the best Gnocchi Bolognese that I've ever eaten in my life and my husbands chicken parm was absolutely amazing!! The portions are BIG and we definitely had leftovers for the next day. The wait was not long to get a table and the service was prompt, professional, courteous, and didn’t leave us in want of anything. All of our needs were met. “This place is truly a hole in the wall! In the best way! My son recommended us this Italian wine bar with real candles, lighting the entire restaurant and with a very romantic ambience upstairs! The food was phenomenal, our waiter was friendly and the wait staff was quick! I must say the hostess was a bit distracted when we arrived, while she was sitting on a table by the entrance on her phone. I think that looks unprofessional for “the face” of the restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and were sat upstairs aside not having a reservation. We will definitely be back next time we are in the city!“
