“I have been a long time customer, since the early 80’s. For the first time I had lunch at the Hot Bar and met the new executive chef Chris Smith while I was serving myself. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious and he was so friendly and helpful. Kudos to Stews for continually hiring outstanding employees and welcome to Chris.“

“My husband and I love coming here, the place is always so clean and tidy and the food is so fresh. The people are so friendly. This last visit, we got to meet Tamara who took care of us. She is so genuine and helpful. Falafel palace knows how to take care of their customers. I ordered the falafel sandwich and grape leaves which are my favorites and the best place to get them. As a vegan this is also a great vegan-friendly place to go as it is vegetarian and most of the menu is vegan and have lots of gluten free options.“

“A true Irish Pub. Great staff. Perfect place to throw down some suds with friends. Watch a game or just chill. Nice size bar. Reasonable amount of bar area seating. Plus dining seating as well. Love being there. Burgers are awesome. Once you go, you'll go again and again. Also, excellent place for parties.“

“I'm staying in hotel nearby and needed real food. This restaurant did not disappoint! The food was delicious and honestly, if I'd been at home and could divvy up the meal, this had 2 or 3 meals in one bowl. The miso dressing was delicious. There's indoor seating or outdoor seating. “If I could give an extra half a star I would definitely give this place a 4.5! I love the idea of a locally owned fish market in the area, however this review is more for the cooked menu and food options.
This market use to close its kitchen closer to 5/5:30pm a few years ago, but recently it changed to “Kitchen closes 30 minutes before store closes” and that makes getting a meal from there much more accessible! I have no idea if this is a permanent change but I really hope it is.
The fried food is actually really well seasoned and cooked. The fish didn’t taste dry at all and I honestly didn’t even need the tartar sauce. The french fries were pretty good too. Their “Lunch Combo” was still available at 5pm and my meal came to just over $13. I’m no expert on the fish market, but getting 2 big fillets of Whiting already cooked with fries under $15 feels really good.
The staff was very nice and friendly. Despite what other reviews would lead you to believe, it was very pleasant to talk to them and they were very patient with me as I made my decision of what to order.
The reason for the half star off is the atmosphere. My issue is there’s just “stuff” everywhere. The food displays are fine, but underneath them are just boxes of containers and equipment. I don’t know about you, but I feel a little uneasy seeing the containers I’m going to be eating out of being stored on the floor. Granted they’re still sealed in the box, but the view is a bit unpleasant to me. They also use wooden pallets on the floors behind the counters. I can understand if they need a new platform for the staff to reach over counters, but I would assume untreated wood inside a moist fish market would attract mold somewhere. Now again I’m no expert and maybe this isn’t a real issue, but those are my thoughts as I wait for my food to be done.“

“Let me tell you, the food is yummy, the drink had a good presentation and the service is excellent... It's a great place to spend time with a group and have a great time... I was with a mom group, it was my first time there but I want to came back. I really enjoy it.“
