But beware that the shop is small and is Hong Kong cafeteria style that one has to line up and order & pay first at the counter with food being brought out later in a hole-in-the-wall operation that's quite cramped. “We visited this place in a Saturday evening. The pork knuckle with rice is real good. Highly recommended. I always dreamed of having this dish in Longjiang, China but didn’t get a chance. Fortunately this place is a small gem on Yonge. This restaurant is small but looks like the owner tried hard to make the interior look similar to what you might find in Guangdong. Such as the plastic seats and foldable tables. There are other Chinese places in Toronto pretending that they have the same dish, but they are all kinda fake after I came here.“

Personally I liked the food I ordered. But I won’t say it’s the best fish restaurant I’ve tried. Mind you, I’ve tried quite a number, so I’m picky 😋 my friend didn’t like as much.

When I came in, there was a couple there. When I left, a few groups came in the restaurant. Mr. Fish is moderate in size so it won’t allow several big groups. I liked the decorations and cute setup. Customer service is great. Staff is polite and when I packed, server gave this adorable bag. Takeout package is great too.

In the dishes ordered, I liked their beef dish and cheese (or yam) balls. The fish wasn’t the best but it was alright.

I’m obsessed with the steamed rice in lotus leaf. Whether you go with beef or pork ribs, it always comes out hot, fragrant, and cozy. Total comfort dish. The pineapple bun is another great pick— crunchy on the outside, pillowy inside, with just the right hint of sweetness. I love pairing it with something savoury like satay beef. Sweet, salty, soft, crunchy— it checks every box.

For dessert, I never skip the steamed egg pudding. It’s silky, light, and not too sweet. The only miss for me was the beef and egg macaroni in coconut tomato soup— the tomato base was too acidic and overpowering.

“we got the cream shrimp, tangsuyuk, jjamppong, white jjamppong, and jjajjangmyeon! i especially loved the jjajjangmyeon and cream shrimp, the flavours were just like the ones in korea. i really love the smokey taste of the jjamppong and it also has tons of seafood. despite it being really affordable they definitely didn’t slack on the food quality and quantity!“

“I like the signature board very much! The beef in the noodles is spicy and delicious. The bean skin in the noodles is also soft and tasty. 💕btw The seafood noodles are spicy but very fragrant. You can order slightly spicy for the first time.“

It's a pity that I didn't get the roast chicken, but I got the pepper and sesame chicken, which has a very special taste.

The dining environment is clean, prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the flavors are spot on with no artificial gimmicks. They also offer a variety of live fish dishes, but it’s best to let them know in advance.“

Dim sum was just madness - it was very busy on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm, with lots of people standing at the front door. I actually don't like loud and crowded space; we couldn't even speak at the table with just the 4 of us. My voice was completely gone after that. I do not recommend coming here for dim sum, not because the food wasn't good, it was just WAY too loud.

My family makes sure to visit this spot on regular occasion because of the exceptional Soup Dumplings, Pan-Fried Dumplings, Onion Pancakes and Dandan Noodles. Not to mention the convenient location and pleasant staff; the owner's son is very friendly and is doing a great job. For dessert, I highly recommend the Candied Bananas perfect for large groups. “Nice, fast, convenient bowl of noodles. My gf and I always get the supreme beef tomato broth soup noodles.

Big bowl of noodles, nice portion of beef (the meat is also not too fatty which is good) and super hearty tomato broth.

The soup is always piping hot, never diluted and the rice noodles are always cooked firm.

The utensils also don't smell of dishwashing detergent which cannot be said of some of the other locations we've been to.

We come here as a changeup from our usual go-to, peanut chili noodle soup bowl at Deer Garden.“
