Exceptionally friendly staff and the best chicken roti, cooked to perfection. My kids devoured them in a few minutes. The roti itself has that perfect buss up shot flakey texture. The chicken breast was moist, potatoes were tender all smothered in that heavenly gravy.

Also picked up some doubles and a slice of rum cake, so I’ll gladly spend a few extra hours at the gym.

I have had the oxtail and ackee and salt fish with food (green banana and dumplings). The oxtail is really good. My friend brought me here promising a great meal. I was skeptical. However, the favour was balanced, the meat was tender, and the gravy was delicious. It was served with rice and peas with mixed greens. Really great meal.
Today, I had the (ital) ackee and salt fish. Not the best but not without merit. I mean sometimes ackee and salt fish has a tendency to be too oily or salty. It ate clean. It tasted like a healthy balanced meal meant for a health conscious person. Not much salt, not over power by oil and seasoning, just clean flavors. I would have liked more salt fish in the dish. I would have liked yam and dashing but was greatful.
Nicey's on a Saturday afternoon is the spot to get a food and sit down with a friend and watch the time pass over good food. While there, a group was celebrating a birthday and there was sufficient pass for them and other patrons without it feeling cramped. I am looking forward to better weather so I can try the patio.
I can't think of a better sit down Jamaican restaurant in Scarborough at this moment - maybe Kitchen king but space there is limited - as is the menu.

“The moment I stepped into this shop I felt like I was in the Carribean! The decor is so homey and comforting. The queen of patties herself served us up some hot and delicious patties. She was kind, courteous and even singing in the back while heating our patties, she’s the sweetest woman. We got 8 beef and 4 jerk chicken patties. Wow are they good! I prefer the beef, chicken was a bit dry but I mean, it’s cooked, put in a patty and reheated so makes sense. “I finally was able to attend UMI's Kitchen after so many attempts by UBER and DoorDash as it always says unavailable. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. I thought it was located more east on Dundas but it's actually near Dundas and Sherbourne. Toronto has tried to revive the neighborhood but, it has the same energy. I was lucky as parking is street parking so expect to park and run in to get your order. It looked closed when I got out and the door is not new but, I got in. It isn't a big place but the lady who got my order was pleasant. I ordered a small Oxtail (not cheap no more), side bbq chicken, 1 veggie and 1 beef patty, small chicken soup (good), Pineapple soda. I thought the salad would be handled but no salad like no coleslaw! I was like wow. The food is good. I really enjoyed the veggie patty wish I had gotten three of them. The bbq chicken was nice. Not hot but, it was a great add to my Oxtail meal. I was glad I finally could say I gave this place a try. I am sure others will attend. The area isn't the most desired place to attend but, it's about the food which for this day was my goal.“
