“Revising to 5 stars on the kind assurance from the owners that the issue with the chips was indeed a one-off. Looking forward to my next order!

They changed the chips 😞. Please tell me this was a one-off and you've already gone back to the previous chips, which were always proper. These ones were obviously manufactured and cooked from frozen, with some sort of 'crispy coating' on them. Not entirely bad, but not right. Captain John has been our reliable go-to for years now, with consistently fresh tasting fish, crispy batter, and (until now) a generous portion of chips cut from fresh potatoes. Delivery is fast, the food is still piping hot on arrival, and it's packed in carboard and paper so everything stays crispy.... I might give one more try but if the chips are still the new and NOT improved ones, I'm not sure I'll continue ordering from here.“

“This is our favourite fish and chips restaurant. The service is excellent and the food is always hot and delicious. They have some nice cold beer to go with your meal. Even if there is a line up, we have never waited longer than 15 minutes. Worth the wait.“

“Let me tell you….i am very very picky about my curry chicken roti and Island Spice Flava restaurant has the most delicious flavorful roti. They also don’t skimp and use potatoes as filler….there is literally chicken in every bite! I’ve been here like 5 or 6 times and it has been consistent and delicious. Also the staff is so friendly and love the no nonsense atmosphere. Always a stop for me when I’m visiting Toronto.“

“My wife is Persian and we live in Scotland. We are visiting family here and we went to the Deedar restaurant for dinner. The staff were very courteous, and very hospitable and the food was excellent. A wonderful menu and all the food we had was top class. I would highly recommend this restaurant. “Well what a great lunch we just had. A delicious dozen East coast oysters. French Kiss and Lucky Lime. plump and tasty with a smack of brine. Very nice selection of condiments. Two glasses of super tasty French Chablis followed up by Haddock tacos and the Blackened haddock burger. delicious fries to compliment the dish. “Jonny the waiter was not only attentive, but also so catering to the needs of our group. He made sure our drinks were always topped up during the live band also while caring for a full out door patio. Matty in the back who carried out my steak did an incredible job not only was it cooked to satisfactory but it was above and beyond what my expectations were I had the best experience I could have asked for and would recommend to anyone i possibly could.

“I recently visited Red Lobster in Toronto, and being from Newfoundland, I’ll admit my expectations for seafood are always high – but I was not disappointed! Every dish tasted fresh and flavorful, with that comforting touch you hope for when you’re away from home.

“a month ago I can't find enough words for how amazing this place is! From the beginning placing the order online to when we finished eating, was absolutely stellar. I ordered the King Crab boil with extras and initially the order was cancelled but they called me IMMEDIATELY to advise they had only one king crab left but would substitute it with snow crabs. Utterly friendly and courteous is an understatement! Best customer service. We got the food delivered in less time than anticipated, and the packaging was insanely proper. No spillage, good containers! The restaurant called me almost immediately after the food was delivered to find out if everything was good! My heart melted and I couldn't thank them enough for making this dinner so special The taste of the food OMG no no words in the English language can deserve it! Juicy, flavourful, succulent, fresh, homemade seasoned! Delicious from the moment I smelled it to the last morsel that was eaten Will be ordering from there again without a shadow of a doubt. Highly recommend the Manchurian fried rice, tandoori masala chicken, chilli chicken, and chilli fried squid. Always hits the mark!“
