“Came here for my birthday. We started off with spinach dip suggested by our server then got salmon and the steak sandwich. All the food tasted amazing. The service was amazing from Olivika she went above and beyond for us. She even packaged our food neatly for us. At the end we got a cake with a candle with happy birthday written in chocolate.

“This is a great option for a good quality, sit-down meal on campus. The staff had some struggles understanding the drink orders and requests resulting in an incorrect drink order and quite a lot of time consulting with their co-workers to fix. They could use extra training on the menu as well. Even though it was a set menu they didn't have answers ready about the meal. Eg. What vegetables are with this? I think a little more training for the staff would have made this a 5-star experience as it was a delicious meal with great value on campus.“

“Great Food, Great Service and Great prices. My grandparents are moving to a condo near by and we decided to walk around and check out local business’s. We chose The Checkerboard for lunch. It was 2:30 when we came in and sadly realized they closed at 3pm on Mondays so we didn’t get to stay too long. The server was very kind and told us to take our time eating. The menu has some great choices and the prices just can’t be beat. This will be our new place for family lunches and dinners for sure. Food was yummy and great value! I got the Egg, Cheese and Bacon sandwich with buttered mushrooms on the side and a tea. My mom got a BLT with fries and a coffee. Our bill came to around $24 with is amazing for a lunch for 2 with drinks and sides. The portions were also very generous. I’m excited to come back with my grandparents who have fish and chips every Friday! The 1 piece fish and chips was only $9.99 on the menu! Also my daughter’s favourite grilled cheese was under $4. Very excited to try lots of stuff on the menu.

“These guys are the best. My truck quit at the drive thru speaker after ordering had to call a towtruck and I was worried about my 2 little girls in the back. They served us well and came out to help customers pulling in behind me. I fed my children while waiting for the towtruck it was there in ten minutes to my surprise. These situations can turn out to be horrendous but the whole staff ended up making this a pleasurable experience then I got towed back to Guelph. Nice driver and my little girls were happy playing passing the time in the back seat. Visit this location. You’ll get amazing service!“

Despite the occasional lack of communication between the staff and customer in relation to orders and order numbers food is brought out in about 5 minutes. Overall regular fast food resturant.“

“A friend of mine and her son went to eat here Monday night. My first time at that location. It started out badly, very badly, the young, long haired, blond bartender was rude and unprofessional. Peyton, Bob and Theodora turned it around for us and with their eager to rectify approach helped turn a very negative experience into a positive one. Peyton was understanding, tentative to my concerns and genuinely wanted to help. Bob was amazing. He came to us with a genuine approach, listened to our issues. We felt heard and respected, in the end, found a reasonable solution we all were happy with. As we were leaving, Theodora held the door for us as she was coming into her shift with a bright beautiful smile, respectful and genuinely nice. These 3 are a great representation of amazing service that should be emulated by the ENTIRE staff, as well as IMO, a lot of establishment's are lacking.
