“Had a wonderful family dinner last night at Full Yuan Restaurant in Scarborough to pre-celebrate my auntie’s birthday, and it honestly could not have been a better choice.

From the moment we sat down, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and super patient — exactly what you hope for when dining with a big family. The dishes came out hot, flavourful, and beautifully portioned. Every plate tasted like real home-style comfort done right.

It’s not easy to please everyone in a multigenerational group, but Full Yuan nailed it. Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and service that made the whole celebration feel extra special.

Highly recommend this spot for family gatherings and special occasions! Will definitely be back. 💯✨“

“Had this a long time ago but at a different location. The servings was more than I expected. Staff is friendly.

If youve never been here but want to come, the building is L shaped and the entrance is under a different sign of some indian take out (taste of agvra?)“

It is one of the few local Greek places that can easily accommodate a large reservation or event. We have been multiple times, would recommend and go back.“

“Haven’t had fish & chips in a long time and the folks at this shop satisfied my cravings. Found in a small, unassuming plaza, this family-owned business is slinging out perfectly fried fish and spuds.

The folks who run this establishment are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The atmosphere here is nostalgic. It feels like I’m in my family’s kitchen from my childhood.

I ordered the halibut and chips for myself, got cod and chips for my brother, and we shared a calamari and gravy. Food was pretty good. Fish tasted buttery and delicate. Batter was thin, crispy, and flavourful. NOT overly greasy, major news! Loved the thick cut fries. The gravy really took them to the next level. Portion sizes are pretty big and these prices are insanely reasonable!

I highly recommend McCowan Fish & Chips; support small businesses! One if my favourite spots in Scarbs now. I will be back!“

“My friends and I have now been going to Gabby's for quite a few times, maybe about 6 by now, usually on Sundays. The last couple of times have been on a Friday and Monday. We are mostly handicapped, using walkers or a wheelchair. I usually make the reservation, and specify a table near the lovely large windows. It has never been a problem on Sundays, but there seems to be one waitress who objects to our sitting near the window as we will "block" the servers. It is difficult enough being handicapped never mind having a surly woman telling us we are a problem. So, maybe this woman doesn't work on Sundays. We love this restaurant and the food and atmosphere is so great, usually. Most disappointing.“

“I love supporting small businesses, and Hakka Cottage did not disappoint! The owner was very polite and friendly. The shop is quaint and intimate, great option for dining in. I opted for take out and some of the standout dishes were the fried dumpling, lollipop chicken, and the Manchurian chicken. The fried rice had that perfect wok hey. “Went to Bluffers Restaurant for a 60th Birthday this past weekend in October and I must say it was fantastic! We have been there several times over the past years including two weddings in the event space, and several corporate events which were all really good. This time we were in the restaurant portion of the facility, and although it is small, the setting is gorgeous, looking over the marina in Bluffers park! Service and food were exceptional! Since it was a larger group event, we had limited choices to choose from the fixed menu ... including a Surf & Turf dish as an option. I was floored when out dinners arrived to the table .. all served hot and on time. The presentation was amazing with a large steak on the bottom, and a lobster tail on top, surrounded by different vegetables. An exceptional meal that almost everyone had ordred. Maybe the best Surf and Turf I have ever enjoyed. It was that good. I wish I had taken a picture to includ here. The other dishes including a salmon dish were also really generous portioins, and good. And value for money .... I checked the price of the Surf and Turf dish on the main menu .... $60 including a steak and a lobster. Exceptiional value .. well over a $100 anywhere else. I don't normally write reviews, but this place is so deserving of this review. We will go back soon. I am a regular at The Keg,which I have found a little dissappointing the last couple of visits. “Tak Fu even prices things the old-school way (by dish, no specials) with categories ranging from $5.99 (S) to $9.99 (SP). Tea’s a humble $1.50 a person, softening the blow of slightly higher food prices.

So, what’s so special about Tak Fu?

Start with the siu mai or steamed pork dumpling ($7.99). Most places pulverize the pork into springy meatballs. Not here. The pork is hand-chopped, juicy, and tender, breaking apart easily with each bite. Finely diced mushrooms add a hit of umami, while a plump shrimp crowns the top instead of being hidden inside - simple, balanced, and traditional.

Then there’s the har gow or De fu steamed shrimp dumpling ($8.99). The shrimp are properly cleaned and not over-tenderized, keeping their natural flavour and crunch. They’re cooked just right, encased in a slightly thick but satisfyingly elastic wrapper.

The steamed bean curd roll with satay sauce ($7.99) is dense and hearty… half a roll will do. Its filling leans pork-and-cabbage heavy, more like a spring roll in taste, so it’s not as exciting flavour-wise but still comforting.

For a contrast, the steamed rice noodle roll with fried dough in special style ($7.99). The hot, crunchy fritter wrapped in silky rice noodle is spot-on texturally, though the hoisin and sesame sauces could be thicker. Maybe they’re thinned out for easier pouring?

The steamed rice noodle roll with BBQ pork ($7.99) is stuffed to the gills with big chunks of meat and nothing else.

Pair any rice roll with the congee with preserved egg and pork ($8.99) and you’ve got a hearty solo meal. The pork’s properly seasoned, the preserved egg plentiful, and the texture rich and smooth.

For something lighter, go for the dried scallop & seafood dumpling in soup ($8.99). It takes time, but arrives piping hot with a massive dumpling stuffed with shrimp, octopus, scallop, mushrooms, and BBQ pork - generous and satisfying.

The deep-fried squid ($9.99) might just be the best I’ve had: crisp, tender, and barely battered. There’s also plenty of it to go around. Say what you will, Tak Fu doesn’t skimp on portions.

Even their fried rice noodle with beef ($13.99) impresses. Sliced beef, bean sprouts, and onions get a good kiss of wok hay, and those caramelized onion bits add a hit of flavour. A solid, classic version.

If you can wait half an hour, end with the steamed milk ($7.99) for dessert. Lightly sweet, perfumed with ginger, it’s a silky, nostalgic treat you won’t find in many places anymore.“

“We found Lucile's a few months ago and my family and I are addicted. They cook their jerk chicken fresh everyday on the drum pan grill (authentic tings) so you get flavour to the bone! The fried chicken is delicious, rice and peas soft and coleslaw..bay-bee , sooo good we be asking for extra lol oh and customer service is AMAZING, always treated with so much love and respect. 10 stars! My favorite jamaican cuisine hands down!

“The golden fish maw soup hotpot meal set for two is absolutely one of to best I’ve had in a long time. The taste is spot on. The beef is exquisite and the homemade meatballs are so dense and no nonsense type. The chicken is fresh. Great ambience overall as well. Highly recommended! The coconut milk dessert that’s on the house as an added bonus just about seals the deal!“

“It was a very busy restaurant in the weekend morning, waited over 35 minutes to get the table. The dim sums were decent and tasty with reasonable prices. There were additional discounts if you ordered before 11am. The staff were generally friendly and helpful while some were a bit rough probably due to being too busy. Overall it is a decent restaurant and recommended! My rate is 4+.“
