“Popular place in Toronto, so gave it a try. Here's my take:

Service: pleasant
Food: Mixed

Steak tartare was light, fresh, nicely seasoned. Simply but well executed. Great call to have it available in appetizer size. The toast that came with it was a hit on its own.

Swiss train ride: their version of a Croque Madame, left a bit to be desired. While made with quality ingredients, exexution was not any better than a standard dinner. It was simply too dry, but the egg yolk helped with a few bites. The salad it came with also seemed rather hastily thrown together. The potato rosti it came with was crispy and light and was the best part of the dish.

Overall nice place. Will return to try the burger ans perhaps other dishes.“

“We had a bar table on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago (Oct 2025)and had an exceptional meal great choices and excellent wine pairings to go with the dishes we selected from the menu at a very reasonable price the same offering in Melbourne (we are Australian) would be at least 50% more. The staff were really accommodating to any requests and totally professional while being really approachable. We have secured a table in the dining room in December and we are looking forward to the set menu. A well earned star in the Michelin Guide keep it up folks.“

“I had such a wonderful experience!!! Food was so good. The pecan pie, forget about it 😍 But what stood out the most was the EXCEPTIONAL service we had at our table. Our fabulous server, Izzy, was incredibly kind, thoughtful, efficient, friendly (the list goes on). She even upsold us on a couple of things and I was very impressed how she actually provided value and expertise! Our glasses of water were never empty, dishes were always taken at exactly the right time, and I never once felt like she forgot about us. We were asked how our food was every time a new dish hit the table. Her positivity, enthusiasm, and kindness really made our experience unforgettable. Thanks Izzy. You’re exceptional! “We were there for the 5 course chef farm to table menu, but the place seemed slammed by Winterlicious reservations that were not expected, so the service was a bit off in that that they forgot our cocktails and then also one of our courses was severely delayed. There seemed to be a misconnect between the bar, the kitchen and service which was odd since the chef's menu and timing are not really up for interpretation. The tasting menu was nice, but I'd be interested to see if what their actual menu is like if we come back. Servers and host were excellent.“

“Probably the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Our server Jocelyn V. was super friendly and engaging. We were very well taken care of! The seared salmon sushi is out of this world! I've been to many Joey's across Canada, but this one is the best!“

“Our reservation was promptly addressed when we arrived and presented ourselves. As we were invitingly ushered to our cubicle , which by the by was appropriately adorned in the colours of valentine, we were pleasantly impressed by the quality of noise reduction the alcove offered. Our host Ger displayed the courtesy that represented your boasts. The food, especially, mirrored your exquisite cuisine menus, and tasted divinely delectable Kudos to the manager and staff of the Yorkdale “Pickle Barrel.”“

“Walked into this place today... not the greatest Shawrma I have had but definitely not the worst... great selections of fresh added ingredients... chicken looked tasty on the spin but lacked flavour. People were plesent ans the food came fast. I ordered a mango drink and the bottle was warm..must me something wrong with tge fridge. overall the price is great $16 bucks taxes in for a wrap and drink....fairly good deal!

The wrap they are using is too thin its more like a crepe. Honestly I have the sandwich 6.5 out of ten ingredients selection is 10 out of 10!

Lots of sitting room I imagine at night this place is rocking....a little tweak here and there and this place would he a higher rating from me.

“Delicious every time! The seasonal menu is always a delight for the senses. I live two provinces away and we happened upon this gem of a place a couple of years ago. Yesterday, I had a layover in Toronto of around 12 hours. Took a terminal train, the up train, the subway and my feet all the way from Winnipeg to dine here. Scrumptious. Healthy. Leaves you feeling full without guilt! Two thumbs way up!“

At that price, I expect flawless execution, but the lobster tail was very tough and overcooked, and the stuffed chicken wing was sort of spongy.“

“We were here for an early meal. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. We had already heard about the legendary Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer and we were not disappointed. A very nice jalapeño honey glaze with toasted pecan. A very subtle touch of heat. A MUST try! We also enjoyed the wood fired Prosciutto Parma Arugula pizza. Excellent crust and very tasty. “The experience is out of this world amazing for those like myself, who have the capability of seeing the world every single day! At this restaurant, you end up eating an entire meal, in nothing but COMPLETE DARKNESS! It’s absolutely AMAZING at how our bodies start to accommodate to our surroundings, once one of our normal senses, like seeing, is “cut off.” To be forced to speak to your partner, or friend, or family member without the distractions of every day things like other people, or traffic driving by, music in the background, or most importantly, ELECTRONICS, with how our world has become way to dependent on, was absolutely amazing! The whole experience took about two and a half hours, and it was AMAZING! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend eating here, just for the experience alone! But in case you’re curious about the food, that too, was also AMAZING! When people usually can see the foods they’re about to eat, or are around, sometimes just the look of something might turn our minds off of the idea of eating something. This place, making you eat in complete darkness, also has “surprise” food options as well! My husband and I chose the “surprise” starters and deserts, but we chose our actual meal options, out of fear due to my picky eating. I was absolutely blown away at how delicious both of our meals tasted! 🤤 Definitely check them out if you ever get the chance! The whole experience, including the food and amazing staff, is beyond AMAZING! 🩵“

“Had a wonderful anniversary dinner at King St. Social Kitchen! From the warm welcome at the door to the attentive service throughout, we felt so well taken care of. We enjoyed the prix fixe menu—fresh bread, tasty vegetable gyozas, delicious main entrees- the tofu steak and chicken supreme. Desserts were a highlight—the apple blossom and lemon sorbet were the perfect finish. Thank you for making our evening so special—we can't wait to return!“

“Have had both steak and crab here and both were excellent, you can get equally good steak for a similar price at many other steakhouses in Toronto but the seafood stood out to me. Side dishes weren't anything special but are included with some orders.

It's not cheap but service was very friendly and to me it was worth it.“
