“I had an absolutely amazing experience at Babushka! From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by how clean and beautifully designed the restaurant was. The outdoor seating area surrounded by flowers created a wonderful atmosphere. The best part was the food — every dish was presented beautifully and served individually to each guest. In today’s world, we don’t just look for quantity, but for quality, a personal touch, and excellent service, and Babushka delivered on all fronts. Our waiter, Dima, was incredibly friendly, polite, and professional. The owner, Pasha, was respectful, attentive, and added a touch of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. He personally greeted everyone and made us feel special. The dancers performing on stage added so much energy and excitement to the evening. They truly elevated the atmosphere, making it feel like a real celebration. The washrooms were spotless and stocked with hand towels, which I really appreciated. The music was just right — lively but not too loud, with a great mix of different cultures and breaks so guests could talk or dance. “Great spot if you’re craving a classic fish and chips experience.

The fish was cooked perfectly, and the batter was light and crispy. I had the cod, while my friends ordered the haddock and halibut. We tried each other’s dishes, and all of them were excellent. Cooked just the way I like. To top things off, the coleslaw was amazing: light, refreshing, and with the perfect crunch. Its sweet and tangy flavor balanced the richness of the dish beautifully. Overall, it really hit the spot!

You could tell the chips were made fresh in house, too. They provided ample tartar sauce along with the classic salt-and-vinegar accompaniments for the chips. The portion sizes were very generous. I even had enough to take some home and enjoy later.

The space is clean and bright, and the service is exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

“I went to Chubby's tonight. I haven't been there for over 30 years, and it was fantastic. I ordered 2 small halibut and chips and a banquet burger, and fries for me. The banquet burger had 3 slices of peameal bacon on it and was fantastic. What a great place. I will be going back soon.“

“I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.“
