Their side tenders came with pickled radish which was refreshing and not too sweet.

Their side of kimchi mac was a star. Slightly spicy and tasty.

I think when I come again, I want to try their curry mash as that’s suppose to be unique as well.

“I really loved the wings and still do but after awhile the staff started being weird and the wings be really dry like they could be old or just fried too much… some the meat is so burnt there is no meat to really eat on the wing… this is new so I hope it doesn’t keep happening. This is my favorite wing spot! So I’m tryn to see if it changes.

The fried rice is good! The burger combo is fire and so are the fries.

“I am so sad the my past self who kept forgetting to stop at the place with the orange banner! Now, Nom Nom is always at the top of my comfort food list for NW PDX. The Fish sauce caramel wings are my favorite!! Such interesting flavors and so satisfying. Servers, bartenders and any staff I've ever encountered give the best genuine customer service. If you don't know what to try definitely come with a friend, as I usually do, to get a taste of everything.“

Highly recommend the Prime Sweet and Spicy, The cream sauce that comes with it takes it to another level. “Quit playing with their name! If you have 10-15$ you have a BAG of chicken and a couple drinks. Mojos (potato wedges) are cool too, I just don’t waste room on anything except chicken. One day you’ll learn just dump some hot sauce in the bag and shake it up at little bit. Extra napkins for sure. Only had to wait around for my order 1 time and it came out better than I’ve ever had it.“

“As a native Texan this is some of the best brisket I’ve had in Portland. The quality of the meat, tenderness of the brisket and smoked flavor reminded me of the many mom and pop shops I would frequent growing up in south Texas. The pork ribs were also super tasty. I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend this spot for anyone looking to try some Texas BBQ in Portland.“

“This was my first time going here and I needed to write a review as soon as I finished my meal. I know a lot of people say they found the best spot when it comes to wings but they are all wrong. I don’t mean to glaze but it’s deserved. These wings were the best wings I’ve had in a while. The service was great. The girl at the cash register was extremely kind and I am happy she added those side sauces because they were delicious with the wings and fries. “Some of the best thai food I've had in Portland. Got ol' faithful vegan pad thai and it did not disappoint. Veggies were cooked perfectly, sauce was flavorful and wasn't greasy or dry. We got there right before closing time, and I was surprised to see the food cart seating area basically packed. Paid $14 for a decent size serving of pad thai and $2 for a cola. I don't have anything to complain about and joked to my partner that we need to move to the Alberta area for this pad thai specifically.“

“Comfort food. Flavor bombs in every bite. Growing up as a kid it was always a disappointment going to a restaurant and the food isnt as good as what you get at home when your Asian. This place is like going home to my dad cooking dinner or visiting an auntie who says i love you by making all your favorite foods. Staff is friendly. Bathroom is always clean.“

“I went to Sammy's on a friend's recommendation and it was amazing. It was pretty busy and there were only 2 people working. One cook and one front counter person taking orders and making milkshakes. I thought it would take a while but the food came out fairly fast. The onion rings were perfectly fried and crispy and the fish sandwich was moist and not overly breaded with a beautifully melted cheese skirt. The milkshakes were insanely good and handmade. Considering the great food quality, the prices were very reasonable. 10/10 I can't wait to go back.“

“I’m new to the Cheerful Tortoise and I’ve been driving by it most of my life. I had no idea that it’s been around for over 75 years which is pretty amazing… And it is right in the middle of Portland State University and is a home away from home for people who need a place to go on holidays or special occasions when everybody else has family. I love that it is a sports bar that allows kids and I look forward to taking them there for taco night and also for wings. I met Amy and heard her story in an interview… And feel like she is providing a place that is the heart of the downtown community in a very open way. I went last night for hip-hop night and the skill set of the DJs was off the chart… DJ Wicked and DJ Good Fortune are two of the nicest men I’ve met in a long time in the DJ world. They are an old-school staple and people have no idea how blessed we are to have their skills and music selection in our community. The staff at the restaurant everybody has been very kind and friendly to me. Everybody that was in the restaurant the two times I’ve been there seem to truly enjoy themselves and there were families with kids along with people playing pool and lottery in the back. It kind of feels like a hobbit bar because of its age….. I like it. It deserves my patronage and you can feel the history in it. I really dig how it feels. Nothing like a good old dive bar from old Portland… I’m a little late, figuring it out but with their happy hour specials and their drink night specials this is a place I can afford. It’s pretty evident that the people leaving reviews on here are using the cancel culture tactics which is very tired. I was actually one of the people who also complained about what the Portland Pickles were doing and was grossly offended by all of it. It had nothing to do with drag. It had everything to do with kids putting dollar bills in the thong of a pickle that was dressed like a stripper and the penis that was coming out of some of the images talking about Uranus. I immediately withdrew my child from Baseball camp and want nothing more to do with the organization. It’s embarrassing. The people leaving these reviews are sick and mean and hateful. These are not honest reviews. It’s just a testimony of people operating at a lower level who enjoy hating others = the exact thing they’re complaining about. The people who yell from the mountain topped the loudest are the ones who are actually displaying the behavior. I met Amy briefly and can tell immediately that as a mom, a business owner, and somebody who has spent her time at this bar…. you can feel the love she has for community. When I was at hip-hop night, there were people from all walks of life, genders, preferences, etc. I don’t know what these people are talking about but definitely don’t overlook a place that has history in Portland!“

The street mac is their take on Street Corn Elote with mac and cheese and it was DELICIOUS. We got just the regular portion and it was big enough on its own for us to share. Good price for it too, $15. The guy who was working also seemed really polite, my girlfriend, who ordered, said he was very formal and kind. We wanna come back and try the fried mac and cheese and check out even more of their other options.“

My scheduled orders are never late, my food is always hot, and even when the restaurant is busy, the lobby and bathroom is frequently being cleaned and maintained by staff. Every employee I have interacted with has been very kind. Thank you!“

“I called and ordered at 162nd in advance. When I got there, they were sending customers away and saying they didn't have certain things and others said the ebt was down. Yury, Tony and and lady that started with a Y stayed open four myself and AT LEAST four other customers. I LOVE the deep dish they made. They went above and beyond for multiple families that night.“

“The food here is great. One time one of the drivers helped me out. It was close to closing and his last order ended up canceling on him. So, knowing that I was there waiting for any canceled orders, he gave the order to me. (Or else it would have went to the trash) Consisted of 2 pizzas, cinnabites, and parmbites and a 2 ltr of cola. He then went to his car and gave me his vapes that were already on zero, because I asked if he had a cigarette. He then gave me some money from his tips so I could get some dog food for my dog. (He absolutely loved my dog, even brought me out a meat tray for my dog) I'd have to say that he is the best person Ive ever delt with at dominos entirely. Usually when I go in asking if there are any canceled orders, the girls usually twist their faces at me and look at me funny as if asking if there are any canceled orders is the worst thing you could ever ask them. One time I went in asking that, the chick who usually works the counter, told me they didn't have any canceled orders,about 15 mins later, one of the drivers was headed to the trash with 2 pizzas to throw away. Talk about that little Blondie being rude much?! I ended up walking away with those two pizzas. Moral of the story, the delivery drivers have bigger and better attitudes than the pizza makers ever will.“
