“Came in with my sister and had one of the best burgers I’ve come across in a while. It was an open kitchen concept, burgers made in front of us, and the fries ordered on the side came with sauce automatically which we loved. Good fry sauce too. Bravooo!“

Love the old school interior vibe that feels like stepping into a classic burger shop from the 70s or 80s, the no-frills menu, and their smashburgers are contenders for the best in Portland. They’re straightforward in a good way (cheese, pickles, special sauce) and extremely well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Fries were pristinely crispy shoestring style and YOU KNOW I gotta side of dat special sauce. Friendly staff and great aesthetic. I hope this place is open for a thousand years.“

“The only negative is I'm from Canada and can't come here all the time.
I had the double burger and the nuggie and was gifted a strawberry shake. Everything was perfect. I have no notes.

“We had our first meal in Oregon at Gyro Grill. What an amazing way to start our vacation! Food was cooked to order and so delicious. Gyro plate, chicken kebab pita w fries gyro burger and a bubble tea. Both the tzatziki and hummus seemed like they were made on the spot.“

“Disclaimer: the 5 stars are strictly my review of the food and the customer service given by the employees at BaoBao. My experience with the owner is a different story. If I could, I would rate that separately at 1 star. Read below for my reasoning…

The employees at BaoBao have routinely provided top-tier customer service and the food has been absolutely delicious every time I’ve dropped in. This has been one of my favorites (if not my favorite) dumpling spot in pdx. I’ve regularly enjoyed coming here to study and grab something to eat or drink (the rose tea lemonade coupled with the soup dumplings is my fave combo). It definitely helps that every time I’ve come in the employees have been super kind and friendly.

However, I am saddened to write that my experience with the owner has been uncomfortable and disappointing to say the least. As a masc queer woman who has been enjoying the food and ambiance of this business regularly I was hurt by the actions made by the owner: her moving to throw away my drink when I stepped out for a second, the gossip multiple employees told me was happening behind the scenes regarding customers (including myself), and my own personal experience with hostile disapproving looks in my direction. To my knowledge, no one else has experienced this. Furthermore, I was offended to learn that the owner had insinuated that I was only frequenting the business to try and “date”an employee. The fact is that baobao became a regular spot to study at, coupled with the fact that an employee became a friend. There was absolutely no need for the owner to question my sexuality or question an employee about a paying customer’s sexuality. As a frequent customer who loved BaoBao for the food, ambiance, and friendly staff not only was this very offensive and inappropriate but it was very saddening as well. I have not brought any of my queer friends back here and will be taking my business somewhere I feel appreciated. I can’t deny that this was one of my favorite dumpling spots in pdx, but I feel the need to distance myself from the uncomfortable environment it has become for me.“

“A real gem in the university district! Having been to Hawaii and eaten authentic plate lunch I can assure you the other reviews are incorrect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is prepared well, tastes excellent and is priced very reasonably for the large portions. Something hard to find in the area. Another rarity is the owners take the time to get to know their customers. You can expect to be asked if you want "the usual" if you dine more than a few times. It is refreshing to see hard working small business owners still making it work.“

“In an unlikely location in the heart of the issues on 82nd this restaurant is my go to because of the great customef service which defines the phrase fastfood. You are in and out so fast that im impressed every time. Eating out has become a very expensive trip out for the individual and the family. This place howeve,r is reasonbly priced and the food is excellent -especially the rootbeer freeze -which is second to none. Check it out its worth the trip.

“I'm really disappointed with Rudy the Manager at this location. I came to use my reward for the 25% milkshake which is good from 2pm - 5pm. I arrived at 2pm exactly. I made my order and scanned my QR code for the discount. When I noticed my charge on the screen, which already went through the total charge was still the regular price. They told me that the register was still showing 1:55pm and that they couldn't honor the discount. I told him it's 2pm already and that it's doesn't specify on the app that it has to show 2pm on their registers. I told him I wanted a refund, he argued with me and almost told me he can't refund me. I told Rudy that it's very misleading. As a Manager, he could've just refunded me and recharged me again for another milkshake with the discount since it's 2pm. He tried to tell me he couldn't refund but I stood my ground. He eventually gave me my refund. I will never patronize this location ever. Screw Carl's Jr and their stupid app. 🙄“

A lot of homeless people hang around out side due to the bus stop being right on the side walk near the building but had no issues with them. The service has been the fastest I've seen in a while less then 5 minutes after Ordering. Even when asked to site out front to wait for meal. Great place love their Oreo large shakes they have now they really hook it up. And the plus side is the drive thru is open 24 hours witch is great for that late night munchies.“

“Fun little spot! I stopped in for pizza 🍕 week 2026. Their slice called Happiness is a Shawarm Gun was quite tasty. Many people were ordering different slices from pizza week so that tells me that their regular fare must be good. Prices were quite reasonable ❣️ My slice plus a white claw was $10. They do not have a full variety, in case that is of interest to anyone.“

“I've had Jake Brake a few times now since moving nearby. I've tried several options recommended by Pan and enjoyed each. I absolutely have to recommend the baked chicken and French toast stacker. They were quick and professional, and seem to stay on top of things even when it's busy. Definitely going to keep returning!“

“This is a great Baja Fresh! The employees are friendly, service is fast, and portions are HUGE! One burrito, enchilado-style, with the chips on the side, is actually 3 meals! Their guacamole is excellent. The salsa bar, with cilantro and jalapeños, offers 5 or 6 options. They also sell a sturdy refillable cup that you can bring back each time for a reduced price on soda or iced tea. The dining room is clean, along with the salsa bar, silverware station, and drinks. “My original JM was the OG in Point Pleasant, NJ. I’ve been coming for years- all over the country. Today, the online order counter was packed to the brim, when that got done the line was almost to the door. The staff working was super friendly, helpful and patient while I figured out my points, made me a delicious sandwich, was speedy with all guests and were racing, ever so calmly in demeanor to clean tables.
