“I wanted this to be 5-star so bad. The food was outstanding, service was ok. We got brunch instead of the full tea service. Upon ordering, we were told that in the afternoon, breakfast items on the ‘brunch’ menu are not available. It also took an hour+ and when served, we were told brunch was second priority. If it’s not a true brunch nor priority, why offer it? These are both items I would have appreciated knowing before making an expensive brunch reservation.“

“Wow! We have been fans of Dean's Homestyle Cafe for many years. When the new owner's took it over this year, we were concerned about whether the comfortable, flavorful, "homestyle" experience we were used to would remain. The new team has done great! The staff is super friendly and working hard to make people feel welcome, learning names of regulars, and carrying on a place with a great reputation. The food is still excellent with super generous, well prepared portions and very reasonable prices. Well done!“

“Went in this morning and ordered a coffee. The order was taking a bit, so I went up to check, thinking maybe it'd gotten dropped. Everyone's busy, stuff happens, I get it. There was an employee mopping the area and he said it'd be a minute. Then I realized it wasn't routine mopping but a cleanup situation. I apologized to him and said I didn't realize what had happened. He said "I'm John, the owner. We have a rule here that when an employee spills something, somebody else cleans it up. They're stressed out enough." Let me spell that out...the owner was wielding a mop to ease the mental load on one of his employees. Now I want to get a job there just to learn how to be a better person. Stay classy, John, you're doing it more than right.“

“The best breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos in the South Waterfront area. Best of all, pricing is very affordable and portion sizes are big. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from OHSU, but worth going out of your way for if you have the time. The owner is very friendly and remembers all the customers.

They have a big parking lot in front that always has a lot of spaces open. I don't drive, so I've never examined it closely, but it looks like parking is free.“

“I love Phin caphe, they used to close early before the business time like, their store close at 6 PM, but they closed at 5 PM because there were no customers, majority of the citizens working 9-5 and they closed at 5 PM, how can we have time to go there and order or even hang out with friends? I will say they do tend to be slower to get through their lines, so if you are trying to get coffee before work or in a rush this may not be the best spot. However, if you are not in a hurry, their service and quality of product is excellent!

The baristas here are always friendly & thoughtful, and the drinks are always made perfectly! Some black rock locations can miss the mark on their drink making, but the beverages here are always spot on!

To no fault of this location, black rock tends to not have the best food options. Many of their pastries are dry or bland, but their egg bites are good at least!

Id recommend trying this location on a day where you arent in a rush & it will be worth your time:)“

“My friends wanted to take me to breakfast at their favorite locak spot and Bertie Lou's just so happened to be where they took me! I love the atmosphere, classic tiny diner. What was a surprise was that the seating area was full of what I am guessing are regulars art peices drawn while at Berties. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly, and I would highly recommend this spot to anyone who a craving for breakfast foods and a love of a local business!“

“I was invited to play Mah Jongg at the Jewish community center. I've never been here before and had no idea how big it is. I didn't have time to wonder around and see what was all there, but the little Cafe was nice and clean, with plenty to choose from for drinks and food. There is security at the door and you must fill out a card to get into the building at the reception desk. Lots of nice people. I hope to go back in the future.“

“I was visiting Lewis and Clark for a graduation so my experience is limited to a reception but the quality of the food was good, they did run out of the food which left some guests hungry but ultimately the space was beautiful and I’m sure it’s different during the school year.“

“Ding Tea is one of my favorite boba places to go to on this side of town. I am a sucker for their yakult drinks..so yummy. Golden boba tastes the same as regular boba but it’s more fun so I always get it. Their jasmine milk tea is also a classic for me. I also enjoy the brown sugar milk tea when I’m feeling something sweet.

They always have deco for the holidays and the workers are always nice!!

Saigonesso has not really impressed me. The durian coffee was okay. The green Thai milk tea was very sweet and could’ve used more tea. For the sake of this review I am ignoring all Saigonesso products and focusing on the OG ding tea options.

The bagels are great as an egg-&-cheddar breakfast sandwiches, everyone who works there when I've been in is a treat, and the daylight is *fantastic* because it's in a house raised off the street. This also means the front patio and outdoor side tables aren't right on the street, all the better for hanging out. Lots of print newspapers, great unexpected background music, and the coffee's delicious as well. Thanks to Skyler and the rest of the team for making such a good morning spot!“

“Had a wonderful first, of many, experiences at Blissful Bakery! Deb and Bob were kind and made us feel so welcome! Both indoor/outdoor seating were clean and tidy! Now…the pastries…literally the best scones I’ve ever had; so flavorful and soft! The cookies were soft and the flavors hit the mark! Thew brew local favorite, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, beans for their drip coffee and espresso and they have Stumptown cold brew nitro on tap.This place has a unique feel with a duality of energies in the atmosphere. The hustle, bustle, and confidence of medical professionals in their scrubs and professional attire as they snag a much-needed espresso boost is countered by the slower energy of patients and guests who are content to merely sit and sip, enjoying a brief escape from whatever brought them to the hospital campus. Too much poetry for a coffee shop review? Maybe. ?I came in looking for a breakfast sandwich before jumping back into my commute... They don't serve those. So I opted, instead for a toasted jalapeño and cheese bagel with cream cheese and a hot white mocha. Delicious! My only complaint was that they left a bit of extra room for whipped cream, which I should have forgone for two more ounces of mocha!Lots of snacks are available. The staff is friendly and efficient.Sam's Cafe is a great option if you need good coffee and you're at the OHSU campus.“
