The waitresses were so kind explaining the menu and it was helpful to make our decision for the delicious meal! They have so many rolls so you will definitely need some recommendations and I'm sure it will suit your taste! It was our first visit and we will definitely go back to sushi avenue!“

“We love this place! We eat here regularly, and truly enjoy the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The black cod miso yaki is our favorite dish - it's delicious and I highly recommend it. The veggie and shrimp tempura is the best I've ever had, with an interesting mix of eggplant, mushrooms, squash, lotus root, and onions - all lightly battered and served with a delightful dipping sauce (pour the dipping sauce on the black cod, it's so good). The cocktails, especially the Japanese 75 and the shiso gin drink (I can't think of the name), are well-balanced and mixed properly, and are very yummy. I tell everyone I know to try this place! Some of the food can seem adventurous if you're not familiar with Japanese fare, but it's all delicious and beautifully presented. Finally, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner is a very sweet and funny lady. All around, Sushi Kuni is a great dining experience and I highly recommend checking it out.“

“Celebrated our 45th anniversary at Bamboo Sushi which has been a tradition for us for the last 10 years (except for Covid years). It was again an overall super great experience. The oysters were awesome and the shallot/mint topped them off well. We had a Unicorn Roll and also the Island Hopper Roll, sashimi, and Caesar salad, and finished with a Happy Anniversary HAUPIA PIE dessert. Manager Lauren and crew/ servers helped make our day special. Bamboo Sushi is our go to sushi place and we definitely will be back many times before out 46th.“

“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. “Very kind and accommodating for my Gluten free needs. Even brought me my own GF soy sauce pot. Beautiful presentation of food and very good food and fresh fish. For GF I did the special on the board of K-skewers chicken no sauce, a veggie roll that they left one thing off that wasn't GF, and a Hawaiian roll. Hubby got a couple other rolls that were great. The wasabi has a pretty good kick to it LOL the ginger is really good.“

“if you want to eat fish, they have fish and definitely don't skimp on the portions. If all you care about is the food tasting good and its reasonably priced and good portions, this is the sushi spot. If you want your food to look fancy and be expensive then i would recommend eating elsewhere. I'm not saying the sushi looks bad, sometimes the rolls are a little sloppy and fall apart. I love unagi and i love dragon rolls. Do NOT order the dragon roll here it makes me sad. Their salmon is really good though. Would recommend the spider roll.

The price is reasonable and the taste is very good. There are many sushi restaurants in this area, but when considering the price-performance ratio, I think this restaurant is the best.

Among many restaurants, there are many restaurants that boast of being the best in sushi and charge a lot of money for the meal, but basically, the taste of sashimi comes from the fish, and people cannot artificially produce the taste.

And I can say with certainty that there are only 3~4 companies that supply sashimi in this area, so the fish used in high-end restaurants and the sashimi from the neighborhood are the same fish in the end, and in most cases, the quality of sashimi is almost the same.

If I wanted to eat the best sushi that no one has ever eaten, I would rather save up money and go to Japan and find the real best restaurant.

If you can eat the same quality sashimi at a reasonable price, I would recommend this restaurant. Well-trained sushi chefs can make the menu you want right away, and in most cases, you can eat the food right on the track.

The sushi on the track is freshly made, so you might not need to, but if you still don't like it, you can ask the chef to make it again...

“I saw the negative reviews and was dismayed. BUT when we got there and saw the amount of people who were enjoying themselves. This amount of people would not have been and I was heartened by this. First off the service people. When we asked they were prompt. The sushi filled me up. The variety was astounding. I tried most of their different prepared vegetables dishes. Beef dishes as well.
